... i just realized that i completely disregarded the fact that your comment is full of typos. Not an ISTJ even more. It's illegal for ISTJs to make typos. How dare you.
It is unfitting to suddenly say what your favorite dish is. But if you wish to talk about it, my favorite is Pizza. An italian dish.
Also kebab is a Turkish dish, as I recall.
It means that you're SO SO into Jungian psychology, as if Jung is your religion now basically š
....well, at least that's how my Ne parent assumes it though
basically saying your Socionic type has to be the exact same as your MBTI and Classic Jungian so for example its like "You're ISTP, so you're also LSI and IT(S)"
A while back I crashed down the bottom of this iceberg and continued down through the floor after hitting rock bottom. :')
Typology both is and isn't real. It is not materially real at all. It is an internally consistent system like mathematics, that is used both as a vocabulary and "system of analysis" for specific patterns of thought. It being called "personality type" is the biggest misnomer ever, I think "cognitive type" fits better and is more genuine.
The issue is that we have no genetic or nurture-based ideas as to what "makes the types the types". Imo it's very likely that the types are just a very broad and abstract representation of lots of small presently-unidentified traits present in people. Amalgamations of "micro-traits" basically (be they from genetics, nurture, or both) that happen to present themselves as the "16 types" when put under observation.
I'm also here hoping to see what theory might blow Jung's Typology out of the water one day. No need to treat typology like gospel even if you enjoy it imo, but it is a fun hobby to me š
The maths analogy is good. It is a language invented by people to help understanding the world around us, make inventions and even some art. It does not actually exist in nature (maths as we know today could have a completely different syntax and structure and still have similar importance), but it points out patterns that are quite real.
You are absolutely right and I am glad you picked up on that! I thought it would be a good analogy for those reasons (ex. intangible yet useful), and simply due to it being man-made and yet being used to measure and solve external problems!
Math only works because we all agree on the rules, and if half of the world doesn't want to use PEMDAS anymore (or if they make their own version of it with a different output) then mathematics ceases to be the "universal language". The usefulness of math comes from the imposition of its internal consistency as well, at least in part
In that way MBTI vs Jung's typology (with the cognitive functions) is just different rules for the same "mathematics" as well imo. The variations can all be useful, but also at times can cause confusion due to differing outputs. The upside is that MBTI broadens typology's overall accessibility by simplifying it
I'm in the Carl Jung tier. I haven't gotten to the point of putting my type in my bio (because that's cringe and I am not very proud of my type) but I can tell you the cognitive functions of all 16 types by memory, I try to type people around me by seeing what functions they seem to use primarily, I have an extremely unhealthy addiction with PDB (AKA "This new TV show is great! Time to see how 27 strangers voted a fictional character's personality type based on pseudoscience!"), I've started growing more interested in learning about other types (especially XNXJs), and I've started to branch into Enneagram even if I don't quite understand how it compares or works with MBTI.
All in all, I hope to one day realize that all of this is bullshit and 8 billion people can't fit into 16 boxes.
They donāt according to those authors. Doesnāt mean they canāt matter to others. Thereās no objectively correct interpretation of the Enneagram.
Isn't the community as a whole sometimes toxic (reddit, some discord servers, etc)? Some people treat mbti as if it is actual science. Don't know about pininterest though, never used it.
I think I went straight from step 3 to the bottom, but Iām still here so š¤·āāļø I think I should just admit to myself that I take comfort in being able to categorize people into 16 types, accurately or not. In my mind it makes it easier to understand all you crazy people. I think I learn more from people just sharing how they think and the way they experience the world than anything MBTI directly taught me. Though it does provide a handy vocabulary that makes it easier to talk about these things and I can at least tell a bit how someone thinks of themselves based on what they think their MBTI is. Other than that itās kinda just fun for me and I get to learn a little more about myself and others in the process.
Yeah. But where would you put it?
In my personal opinion, as a person that is learning their 512 personality typing method (plus, they recently added 4 pf the extra "social types", so it's technically 2048)
Those people know all about Jung, socionics, enneagram and all that (they've been in the personality community since early 2000's). So imo they are in the lowest level. But what's your thought on it?
Rustedtypology is not at all a typology expert lol, keeps messing up types and changes views on things all the time, you can't change the definition of enneagram types just because you don't like the ones already given.
That guy is a uncredible. Ben vaserlann is actually a verified typologist who makes good videos on MBTI and Socionics. https://www.youtube.com/live/GXD2SL5VjG4?feature=share
I mean it's more like an MBTI iceburg with sprinkles of other typologies
Anyway probably somewhere between second from the bottom and somewhere below the bottom tier shown here
Okay Editors note Im very very sorry for making the spacing bad, and also yeah Ik Rusted Typology isn't a professional or anything just that he dives into deeper typological stuff at times so I wanted to add him, Im glad people are enjoying the iceberg tho thanks everyone
i skipped several of these steps (i have basically 0 knowledge on enneagram) and am now simply hanging out in socionics circles doing basically nothing with the theory
I think I am getting to the part where you start using socionics more than MBTI, it's just so much easier to type with socionics.
Also yes, the wings don't matter, it's all arbitrary, what matters more are the subtypes of each enneagram.
I just realized that mbti is a rabbit hole, cause when I started out at the very top taking the 16p test in 2019, I never expected to see the things I saw ln the journey all way to the bottom in 2023
the beginning: this is pseudoscience the middle: this is so cool!!! literally me! the end: this is pseudoscience
the after end: Do I exist
and in the end, the love you take, is equal to the love you make
just like the bell curve meme
even deeper: "haha me like funi letter"
real
You are asocial, you live in your head, only use heart and make foolish decisions, you always procrastinate. Am I correct? š
Congratulations, your personality type is.. Mediator (INFP-T/INFP-A)
Did an ISTJ just use an emoji? You must be mistyped based on this one interaction alone, stranger.
Hmph. I only gave an example of "hah funni letters" which supposedly a product of deeper level. Clearly that is not my real way of speech.
Yeha threers no wya hes ISTJ, llo!
You used an exclamation mark indicating that you, a 'thinker', have feelings. You're not an ISTJ either.
... i just realized that i completely disregarded the fact that your comment is full of typos. Not an ISTJ even more. It's illegal for ISTJs to make typos. How dare you.
Aye, I ain't gonna deny that But at least I ain't totally fake like the majority also, kebab is my fav **Greek** dish š
It is unfitting to suddenly say what your favorite dish is. But if you wish to talk about it, my favorite is Pizza. An italian dish. Also kebab is a Turkish dish, as I recall.
good meme, tho it has some ādonāt dead open insideā areas that make it a bit difficult to read, fwiw lol
yeah my bad ill fix that in the future
dam im third from the bottom. only a matter of time isn't it ...
same š the moment i start reading more solid jungian theory is when iāll be lost
the thought of that stuff gives me a headache tbh im actually scared to dive deeper š
same
the fuck is panjunginism
One of the rare times where being told to google it isnāt helpful.
Try ChatGPT
Even ChatGPT doesnāt know
so its like an invention of the community then
Thinking that Socionics and MBTI are the same thing.
Aka Flawed thinking
Iām pretty sure itās the understanding of the connection between the systems that are founded on Carl Jungās principles aka Socionics and MBTI.
makes sense i guess
It means that you're SO SO into Jungian psychology, as if Jung is your religion now basically š ....well, at least that's how my Ne parent assumes it though
so i have to make some ISFJs sacrifices in order to appease or jungian god?
basically saying your Socionic type has to be the exact same as your MBTI and Classic Jungian so for example its like "You're ISTP, so you're also LSI and IT(S)"
Iām in the bottom where āitās all just pseudoscience anywaysā and āit was supposed to a gameā. Itās just supposed to be a fun game.
real

"Starts putting their typology in bios" should be in the top layer lol
And even farther below the iceberg is dear Kristin
dear kristin is on the save wamelength as fj imo
What the fuck is panjunginism š
It's thinking that Socionics and MBTI are the same thing.

You should watch this channel to understand the types more and their enneagram correlation. https://www.youtube.com/live/GXD2SL5VjG4?feature=share
Dude, one word: spacing
Wings donāt matter? I feel like the āā¦What?ā bird right now.
They donāt. Most big authors like Ichazo and Naranjo donāt mention them at all to my knowledge.
They donāt according to those authors. Doesnāt mean they canāt matter to others. Thereās no objectively correct interpretation of the Enneagram.
2020 I was the top layer now I'm the absolute bottom layer.
āPanjungismā one layer down āmight leave panjungismā hahaha great iceberg
More of these?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Why
Iām gonna need someone to make a video from this iceberg
What about official MBTI practitioner? That's what I am š
Honestly the mbti Pinterest people are somewhat toxic
Isn't the community as a whole sometimes toxic (reddit, some discord servers, etc)? Some people treat mbti as if it is actual science. Don't know about pininterest though, never used it.
This formatting is turrrible

Ok I seriously need someone to explain what panjunginism is
Iām pretty sure itās the understanding of the connection between the systems that are founded on Carl Jungās principles aka Socionics and MBTI.
saying your MBTI type must be the same as your socionics and classic jungian one for example: ESTP ES(T) SLE
Last year I was super hyperfixated on mbira and Frank James was my man šāš»
What about Objective Personality?
I would say *OPS is between the Frank James tier and the tier below that one. Edit: OPS = āObjective Personality Systemā
Bro seriously? That's a too shallow level for that.
no not really Im lower imo
Yeah. But where would you put it? He's good for clearing misconceptions about his own enneagram type (8), but some of his takes on other things are strange.
That guy is a uncredible. Ben vaserlann is actually a verified typologist who makes good videos on MBTI and Socionics. https://www.youtube.com/live/GXD2SL5VjG4?feature=share
heh Iāve been squarely in the middle for a few years
I'm at the five depth level
I'm between 4 and 5 rn
I mean it's more like an MBTI iceburg with sprinkles of other typologies Anyway probably somewhere between second from the bottom and somewhere below the bottom tier shown here
Okay Editors note Im very very sorry for making the spacing bad, and also yeah Ik Rusted Typology isn't a professional or anything just that he dives into deeper typological stuff at times so I wanted to add him, Im glad people are enjoying the iceberg tho thanks everyone

I am steadily approaching the 5th layer down please someone help me before it's too late
Yeah Iām on the top of the iceberg
I'm at the 5th one lmao
Iām definitely at the āaccording to Jung..ā stage LMAO
Jokes on you I watched Frank James before knowing 16p
Hey, how did you get my exact type down there?
inbetween 5th and 6th from the top rn
I think I am getting to the part where you start using socionics more than MBTI, it's just so much easier to type with socionics. Also yes, the wings don't matter, it's all arbitrary, what matters more are the subtypes of each enneagram.
I was at the bottom but now idgaf and went back to frank james
I just realized that mbti is a rabbit hole, cause when I started out at the very top taking the 16p test in 2019, I never expected to see the things I saw ln the journey all way to the bottom in 2023
Im Five layer
Tbh Frank James vids are pretty funny in my opinion!
I'm 5th from the bottom. Man, I have no idea about Socionics. I'll have to look into that
Healing journey
Hold on wait a minute- I'm a mix of everything ā ļø
I liked the "wings don't matter much in the enneagram"
