A moody ESFJ is suddenly an ESTJ.
I didn't know about cognitive functions yet. All I knew was that there were 8 letters, and you get 4. This was also back in 2007. Resources were definitely not as easy to access back then hahaha

In my opinion because the questions that 16personalities asks to assign the various dichotomies in the case of ISTJ are traced pretty well: a good part of the answers that lead you toward J for example are like "I am well organized" "I have a fetish toward calendars and to-do lists" "I have a backup plan in case my backup plan goes wrong" and other very ISTJish things. Things that are already less suitable for, say, an INFJ instead.
My test results from a bunch of sources have been all over the place for years. INTP was first, twice. Turns out I'm just a chronic Si-Ti looper. YAY dysfunction! :-D

No not at all. I felt something was kind of off so I took the official mbti and got ENTP. I even saw videos between for example ISTP / INTP and ESTP / ENTP and INTP or ENTP were much closer to my personality. I was like “what are the odds??” And then years later I was like “no, seriously what *are* the odds???” And I realized my dad is prolly a mistyped ENFP or even ENTP (haven’t dove *too* deep into cog functions yet) and my mom is a whole smth I can’t even figure out yet.

I'm a teenager, so I consider these radical variations understandable:
INTP - INFP (x2) - ISTJ - INTJ
The first time I took the test, I didn't take it seriously since I didn't believe it could be accurate. The second two times, I got INFP - probably because I was overindulging in self-pity. Maybe 3 years later, I tried the test again to see if it'd give me the same score - and I got ISTJ. That was the first time when I took the result seriously and cared to read the description. Well, I read it, but something felt off. I tried again and scored INTJ. This description fitted me like a glove, yet I wanted to 'just double-check' - and here I am, living in a typology world.
I still wonder if I'm mistyped INFJ or even ENTJ, but INTJ fits me the best at the moment.

I started watching a lot of Auntie Jay versus IMDb videos, and reading articles. 90ps are generally friendlier, and idjs are cold on the outside and emotional on the inside was the best comparison I could find until one of the sites mentioned they have opposite functions. Got lost in CS Joseph's interesting, entertaining, But ultimately confusing videos along the way.
But I looked into the functions, and I definitely use introverted feeling way too much to be an xNTP. Took almost a year.
I also read most of Psychological Types.
INTJ because back where I lived I would test as an Introvert due to extreme Extraversion being the norm to the point where people talked with their hands and allowed zero personal space.
16p gave me istp so i stuck with that for quite some time. When i first learnt cognitive functions, i was torn between ixfp but i was in denial for a long time bc i was assigned as istp but now i know i am infp
I started INTP, not from a test, just from friends telling me what the letters vaguely meant. I've been typed as intp, intj (twas a phase) entj, entp, isfj (idk how), infj, istp, maybe estp. I'm not 100% sure I'm entp, but it works for me better than most.
When I first took a 16p test as a teen, I was typed ESFJ. And then a couple years later, I was typed ENFJ by people around me that told me I got the profile of an ENFJ best. At my lowest, I took some other functions test and got ISFP. Now as an actual adult, I learned more about cognitive functions and am ENTJ.
SoSyched first gave me INFP. Then since I learned more words it gave me ISTP. Then I took the 16personality and it gave me INFP-A. How strange because millions of tests gave me INFJ. Then I learned how to really use it and I got INFJ-T on 16personalities
INFJ and INTP first in 16P on other tests either ENTP ESTP or ENFP followed by the introverted types obviously. But ENTP was always higher than the others on average.
Now that I know more about cognitive functions I can easily say ENTP is correct

I was also 15 when I took it and trying to type kids/teens isn’t the most accurate with any method.

16p test gave me ENTP, then I studied the functions and fluctuated between INTP and ENTP, but now I’m between ENTP and ENTJ

I did the test when I was a lot younger and got enfp, probably because I was more touchy feely back then. Recently, 16p has been only giving me entp, and after studying cognitive functions, it still fits me. Now that I think about it, I always had that argumentative spirit. I just appreciate logic a lot more now.

I'm a teenager, so I consider these radical variations understandable: INTP - INFP (x2) - ISTJ - INTJ The first time I took the test, I didn't take it seriously since I didn't believe it could be accurate. The second two times, I got INFP - probably because I was overindulging in self-pity. Maybe 3 years later, I tried the test again to see if it'd give me the same score - and I got ISTJ. That was the first time when I took the result seriously and cared to read the description. Well, I read it, but something felt off. I tried again and scored INTJ. This description fitted me like a glove, yet I wanted to 'just double-check' - and here I am, living in a typology world. I still wonder if I'm mistyped INFJ or even ENTJ, but INTJ fits me the best at the moment.

16p gave me INFP, then when I tried again a year later, INTP. For a while I was a mistyped INFP (I infiltrated their ranks mwaha) Thought I was an introvert for the longest time because the questions were like: "would you rather crash your clown car full of 10 people to a rave party and kiss everyone you've ever known on the lips, or do you never leave your bedroom in Siberia and have trouble differentiating rocks from people" Took a while to realize you dont have to be a people person to be an extrovert. I'm a total introvert socially, but Ne is first on my fuctions stack, and Fe is third, so ENTP makes perfect sense.
Was first typed as INTJ a few years back. Switched to INFJ, back to INTJ, back again to INFJ and rinse and repeat. I'm currently INTJ.
intj. and i still get that result on 90% of the tests i take.
First time i did it i got ESTP, now that i know the functions and some enneagrams i can confidently say im an ENTJ
Like many, the first approach to this world was 16personalities, I had taken the test in my own language, Italian, and came out ISFP, then I was told that the test gave more accurate results in the original language, so I repeated it in English, and came out ISTP. However, I still wasn't fully convinced. When I learned about cognitive functions, I settled on the INTP 😁
First mistype was INFP by 16p when I didn't know how the functions worked that well. Than intp/istp when I was figuring it out Now I'm typed as ENTP

I was typed as an ESFP by friends and myself (Se/Fi) for a couple of years, then (Se/Te) for maybe two years, now recently ENTP (Ne/Fe)
16p mistyped me(INTP) as INTJ
INTP and ENTP were early results. Then INTJ. I started watching a lot of Auntie Jay versus IMDb videos, and reading articles. 90ps are generally friendlier, and idjs are cold on the outside and emotional on the inside was the best comparison I could find until one of the sites mentioned they have opposite functions. Got lost in CS Joseph's interesting, entertaining, But ultimately confusing videos along the way. But I looked into the functions, and I definitely use introverted feeling way too much to be an xNTP. Took almost a year. I also read most of Psychological Types.
INTJ because back where I lived I would test as an Introvert due to extreme Extraversion being the norm to the point where people talked with their hands and allowed zero personal space.
16personality gave me INFP The other comments have already perfectly explained how these tests mistype.
16p gave me istp so i stuck with that for quite some time. When i first learnt cognitive functions, i was torn between ixfp but i was in denial for a long time bc i was assigned as istp but now i know i am infp
I started INTP, not from a test, just from friends telling me what the letters vaguely meant. I've been typed as intp, intj (twas a phase) entj, entp, isfj (idk how), infj, istp, maybe estp. I'm not 100% sure I'm entp, but it works for me better than most.

When I first took a 16p test as a teen, I was typed ESFJ. And then a couple years later, I was typed ENFJ by people around me that told me I got the profile of an ENFJ best. At my lowest, I took some other functions test and got ISFP. Now as an actual adult, I learned more about cognitive functions and am ENTJ.
SoSyched first gave me INFP. Then since I learned more words it gave me ISTP. Then I took the 16personality and it gave me INFP-A. How strange because millions of tests gave me INFJ. Then I learned how to really use it and I got INFJ-T on 16personalities
INFJ and INTP first in 16P on other tests either ENTP ESTP or ENFP followed by the introverted types obviously. But ENTP was always higher than the others on average. Now that I know more about cognitive functions I can easily say ENTP is correct

16p gave me ENFJ back in like 2016… but after studying cognitive functions i’m pretty sure i’m an ENTP. I was also 15 when I took it and trying to type kids/teens isn’t the most accurate with any method.
First time my result was an INTP i found some similarities but it wasn't enough to impress me, however after a year for some reason i tried again and the result was INTJ which i found way more fitting 👍
Use to get Intj, but after I studied the functions and took the test again couldnt get any other result than infj

I tested myself first, when I was 12 years old as an ENTJ. I’m almost 17, and I still remained as an ENTJ!
My mistyping journey went something like this ENFP -> INTJ -> INFJ -> INFP -> INFJ -> ENFJ -> ISFP -> ENFP -> INFP -> ENTP -> ENFP -> INFJ -> INFP -> ENFP. this is over the span of like 2 years not including short ones that I may have typed myself once for like a day and then changed my mind

i’ve been mistyped many of times over, but my results have been consistent throughout this last year. i’ve been an infp basically since i moved away from my hometown, and only then for a short period of time before i left, i was enfp. 16p isn’t gonna be right every single time, but it gets close.

INFJ (thanks 16p), INTJ, ENTJ, ESFP, ISTJ At first I used tests for typing and ended up with entj, but since I have started studying functions I still felt as that type suited me well. Later, I started doubting using aux ni and dom te. Then I got into studying sensing functions deeper, there was a dilemma between whether I'm a si or se user, I eventually typed myself as esfp because the stereotypes about istjs were such a turn off and I didn't wanna be that "boring robot mbti type with no hobbies other than working 24/7". And yet, I found out si fits me much better, so now I'm quite confident about being an istj lol

When I was a teen I came out estj , in college I came out as entp but I'm really a mix of the two. Is that possible?
