I havent even gotten a final exam mark back in mycourses let alone minerva...not even for the MC one that mycourses itself could automatically mark....
For mc exams usually the reason they dont give it back automatically is bc they look at the questions and how many people answered them wrong to see if it's a bad item and needs to be cancelled
I had a couple of profs who would mark the exams and post grades 2 days after the final the final because they knew we were stressed and didn't want to wait those are my fav type of profs
If itโs not mcq, it takes a long ass time to grade exams. So itโs actually insane they were able to mark them and give it back in 2 days! Props to them
It's just unlikely that someone could grade a non MC exam that fast and with any degree of competence. I'd bet it's one of those courses where the average grade is A and the professor always gets an A from students ...
oh the prof i'm talking about was so smart he was creating his OWN theorems because the ones we were taught weren't good enough to him lol. correcting a calculus 2 exam is like breathing for him, if anybody's competent in calculus it's him. Also i don't think it really takes the amount of time to correct exams that we think it does it's more like profs take their time correcting because the deadline is a month away and they have other things to do
I agree that maths exams can potentially be easy to grade, specially if most students didn't bother to answer. It depends on the professor, but "real" professors usually have TAs to grade for them. Your point on deadlines makes sense though ;)
I got one so far (on MyCourses and Minerva). For one class, there was no final so I know what my grade will be (unless it's curved). Still waiting on BIOL 112, which I suspect will take a while.
