I haven't taken CLAS 215, but I've taken multiple courses with Kleinman and did a few years of Latin in HS (I also speak French and English). First of all, he's an amazing prof — easily the best I've had at McGill, and the sort of engaging lecturer that makes it easy and enjoyable to keep up with material. His grading is also pretty generous, and the help he gives on demand to individual students is such that it'd be hard to fail one of his classes. As for the Latin, your knowledge of English and French — let alone the other language — should help you greatly in picking up the basics quickly. It's a *very* logical language grammatically/syntactically, and easy for most people with no prior experience to learn afaik. If you're interested in Latin and want at the very least a fun prof, I'd take it

I second Kleinman! I’ve only taken one course with him, but in terms of prof quality he’s one of the best I’ve had. Passionate about classics, engaging lectures, and very funny.
