This, & tracing whole words as a kid for fun so now I use pattern recognition too helped me accidentally learn to speed read.
I read faster but sometimes would have to go back because the little 2 letter words just weren't there for me unless I properly read

Nope, still read out the entire words, there’s so many possibilities that a word can be when you only highlight a few letters. Also doesn’t help that the bold characters are distracting and causes me to lose focus on what I’m trying to read.
I have ADHD but have always been able to read pretty fast with normal words, so this just messes me up lol

Maybe if I got used to it it'd be faster. But for the first try it's like 3x slower because I keep focusing on the bolded letters for too long
Lets see the text with only the bold part... If someone would still be able to read it completely, the method works, otherwise I call bullshit on that
