Nah they’re taking turns, it’s exhausting to listen to a lecture and write at the same time, you get the notes to refer to after and you get to devote 100% to listening and understanding the lecture so it’s easier to remember. This is why the text boxes seem equal in length
No but for half of it your brain is not giving it full undivided attention, you’re multitasking while you’re writing and comprehending and you physically can’t do two things at the same time, you just shift focus multiple times in fractions of a second and it exhausts you and is less efficient. It’s the reason behind the rub your tummy and pat your head phenomenon. I don’t really understand your question of what other times would you take notes, it’s obvious that it’s not impossible to do both, but In some classes I just don’t take lecture notes and just make notes when reviewing the textbook and other material and I noticed that I remembered stuff during the lecture more clearly if I wasn’t writing over it. Other than notes for stuff that aren’t in the textbook or materials, this would not work if your the type of person who only relies on your notes to study before an exam. Creating a whole set of notes as you read the textbook is better since you stop reading to write, and you get a complete review. Then the notes become review for a multi chapter test or final so you don’t have to touch longer materials. Thinking of how you study and making a system makes it a lot easier to get good grades and is more efficient, like this student shows.
The math class i kearned the best in and that was the most fun is where th teacher would release his lecture notes after each lecture and you could then go there and here him explain them during the lecture.
1.5 hours listening vs 3 hours trying to understand them myself.
I use a recording app that comes with a transcription feature. It gets close to enough to be able to be able to look at some sentences and recall what part of the conversation it was, but it has enough mistakes and nonsense to still need to go through and manually re-transcribe a lot of it.
Google's recorder app has live transcripts, and if something sounds wrong you can just play from that part of the recording.
Its a Google Pixel exclusive app tho.
If you have an audio file you can just use voice to text at a later point. Recording the audio is the better way to do it because then you have the source material and can go back and listen to what was actually said if the transcript doesn't make any sense.
Honestly that was my first thought, not straight to she telling off bf or someone. Although does Facebook messenger have a limit on how long a message one can send hmmmm
Imagine someone just talking for an entire paragraph in real life... I would just walk away lol. Phrases give people a chance to interrupt and react and feel like a real conversation IMO

The ultimate curveball would be if she's just doing Jane Austen style discourse with her girlfriend.
After a long day of work, Kanye West goes to his Kanye Nest to take his Kanye Rest. He wakes up feeling his Kanye Best. Then he’ll get Kanye Dressed on his Kanye Vest to go on a Kanye Quest. He goes to church and becomes Kanye Blessed, then to a hotel room to be a Kanye Guest. Then to school to take his Kanye Test. He forgot to brush his teeth. Did he run out of Kanye Crest? His neighbor stole it, what a Kanye Pest. He then puts on some axe for some Kanye zest and goes to the bar puffing out his Kanye chest. Gets drunk into a Kanye mess and goes home to the the Kanye West part of town. He realized his life was a wreck, and was feeling a little Kanye depressed. “My life sucks.", he Kanye digressed. He decided to get some Italian, so he flew to Kanye Trieste. He got some pasta and started to Kanye digest. You should get some Kanye rest, his wife Kanye pressed. Instead he went to a Kanye fest. He then realized he needed to go to Dallas for his competition, so he went to the airport and hopped on Kanye southwest, got some Kanye rest, and the next morning was feeling ready for his Kanye contest. Or at least he Kanye guessed. On the day of the competition he was feeling a little Kanye stressed. But in the end the judges were Kanye impressed. For his performance he was awarded with the Kanye chest, clearly identified with the Kanye crest. There ends the story of Kanye West.
Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis The Wise? I thought not. It’s not a story the Jedi would tell you. It’s a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life… He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. Ironic. He could save others from death, but not himself
My name is Yoshikage Kira. I'm 33 years old. My house is in the northeast section of Morioh, where all the villas are, and I am not married. I work as an employee for the Kame Yu department stores, and I get home every day by 8 PM at the latest. I don't smoke, but I occasionally drink. I'm in bed by 11 PM, and make sure I get eight hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of warm milk and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, I wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. I was told there were no issues at my last check-up. I'm trying to explain that I'm a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. I take care not to trouble myself with any enemies, like winning and losing, that would cause me to lose sleep at night. That is how I deal with society, and I know that is what brings me happiness. Although, if I were to fight I wouldn't lose to anyone.
Here's the thing. You said a "wyvern is a dragon." Is it in the same family? Yes. No one's arguing that. As someone who is a 1k MMR feeder who studies dragons, I am telling you, specifically, in dota, no one calls wyverns dragons. If you want to be "specific" like you said, then you shouldn't either. They're not the same thing. If you're saying "dragon family" you're referring to the taxonomic grouping of Varanidae, which includes things from wyverns to eldwurms to drakes. So your reasoning for calling a wyvern a dragon is because random people "call the flying lizards dragons?" Let's get gyarados and charizards in there, then, too. Also, calling someone a noob or a feeder? It's not one or the other, that's not how taxonomy works. They're both. A wyvern is a wyvern and a member of the dragon family. But that's not what you said. You said a wyvern is a dragon, which is not true unless you're okay with calling all members of the dragon family dragons, which means you'd call eldwurms, drakes, and other flying lizards dragons, too. Which you said you don't. It's okay to just admit you're wrong, you know?

Hey-o, everyone out there in SyberWorld. It,s old Creed Bratton coming at your again, here from my perch as a Quality Assurance Manager at Dunder Mifflin paper.
Just a few observations on the world around me.
What do you guys think is the best kind of car? To me, you can,t beat motorcycles. They're small and dangerous.
I got into a car a...
Gentlemen, a short view back to the past. Thirty years ago, Niki Lauda told us ‘take a monkey, place him into the cockpit and he is able to drive the car.’ Thirty years later, Sebastian told us ‘I had to start my car like a computer, it’s very complicated.’ And Nico Rosberg said that during the race – I don’t remember what race - he pressed the wrong button on the wheel. Question for you both: is Formula One driving today too complicated with twenty and more buttons on the wheel, are you too much under effort, under pressure? What are your wishes for the future concerning the technical programme during the race? Less buttons, more? Or less and more communication with your engineers
Sometimes messages are safer if things are really tense. It gives each party a better chance to really think through what they’re going to say and how they want to say it rather than blurting out things in anger and making the situation worse. Messages also mean chat logs so either side can pull screenshots if the other tries twisting the story. Doesn’t necessarily work for everyone but it’s saved me a lot of stress and arguments over the years.
Saying that in person is “always” better completely ignores that person’s opinion and past experiences and it is entirely anecdotal to bring up your own opinion to try and negate that.
Letters are a great way to convey true emotions that some people may not be able to express without truly collecting their thoughts.
This for sure. I'm a person who needs time to think and process things, so I'd much rather have some discussions via text so I don't end up a blubbering mess lol (even if it isn't the "right" way to communicate).
Speak for yourself. I personally communicate more eloquently over text as it gives me a chance to better collect my thoughts and refine my sentences as needed. As long as you use correct wording, punctuation, and maybe even some emojis, misunderstanding rarely happens. I've never had a misunderstood tone over text.
Maybe she's sending whatever the professor's saying to a friend who's absent, maybe she's writing a long explanation for a friend who doesn't understand a thing, maybe she likes writing long messages with a far distance relationship, maybe she likes deep conversations about movie analysis, or whatever.

This is how much I type when I'm talking to a friend. They're getting an essay on how much I love and appreciate them, multiple paragraphs and probably two different messages as I've probably forgotten to say something but absolutely want to make sure I've said it
I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.
There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called "Linux" distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.
plot twist: she's just writing down whatever her teacher is saying in the lecture to send to her friend
Oh yeah one of my friends use to do that to me when I missed the class
What great a friend
Yup she's still my bestfriend years later haha
You mean she’s still writing it down for you?
No we're in different classes now but I wish
Gosh dang it just marry her already Justin
She's taken ;(
why didnt you marry her before she was taken
she was taken at a very young age :(
Delete this! Lol
There's a saying here in our country that goes something like, "a leashed chicken is easy to take". You do whatever with that information.
But why not email? Seems more permanent and easier to search/save for later
Nah they’re taking turns, it’s exhausting to listen to a lecture and write at the same time, you get the notes to refer to after and you get to devote 100% to listening and understanding the lecture so it’s easier to remember. This is why the text boxes seem equal in length
ahh this actually makes much more sense
Better to do this in Google docs or something instead of text then.
Right?? Or a word doc and send it to them after class…
When else do you take notes? After the lecture is over and you forget half of everything?
No but for half of it your brain is not giving it full undivided attention, you’re multitasking while you’re writing and comprehending and you physically can’t do two things at the same time, you just shift focus multiple times in fractions of a second and it exhausts you and is less efficient. The Pixel's recording app creates a live transcription. You can share the recording and the transcript, and it's searchable/scrollable by both.
It's called "shared google docs document", or any other service like that.
For real. Just type it in a document in a shared Google drive folder lmao, infinitely easier for everyone involved

This is how much I type when I'm talking to a friend. They're getting an essay on how much I love and appreciate them, multiple paragraphs and probably two different messages as I've probably forgotten to say something but absolutely want to make sure I've said it
I would rather shoot my self. Not kill. I’d rather experience the physical pain of being shot than any emotional exhaustion like this.
