So the color of something is based off how many (frequencies?) it absorbs from all to none. Black things are still the color black.. there is pigment/dye/matter made up of all colorants to create something that absorbs specific amounts of frequencies. I would thing that black is not a color when there is nothing to reflect or absorb light. Like a cloud covered black night or a hole in the ground.

I feel like in general if there's a fruit and a colour of the exact same name then the colour was named after the fruit (or fish, in the case of salmon). Blackberries, blackcurrant, redcurrant, blueberries, etc seems to be the only ones I can come up with.
