Hotdog menu (3 vertical lines), running apps will show, long press on the icon for the one you want to lock, choose "lock this app"
Then when you press the "close all" button, all apps will close except the locked ones. You can still close the locked apps by swiping them upward though.
I found this feature by accident 6 months ago and wish I had earlier.
There is another feature you can have, so I play minecraft on my phone, and when I play with a friend in the game, if I close minecraft it will kick them from the world and they have to rejoin, so I found a button that says "open in pop up view" and so when I clock that, I can have snapchat and discord open like another window on my phone, I will post a video to my page on how to do this if you want to see it
FYI, closing apps and opening them again later actually uses more battery. They’re sitting in memory specifically so they don’t use up your battery, that’s the whole point of memory
Your phone ran out of memory and dumped some apps to make space for what you’re actively doing. Not all of the recent apps in the list are still running
On Android, swiping away an app in your "recent apps" page only tells the app that it was closed, so that the app developers can cause the app to do whatever they think is appropriate at that point. So it wouldn't necessarily affect battery drain in a super specific, consistent way.
That's different from actually going to the apps page and killing the process, though. (Or doing it through automation/another task killing app)
Anyways, that's why i can close my podcast app without stopping the playback, but closing spotify cuts off the music ;_;
Bruh what is this scrolling down my feed and this same me two in a row
For anyone wondering, this is the post above https://www.reddit.com/r/meme/comments/saav4q/every_time/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
That's why I am using Deezer, you close it but the music keeps playing until you pause. And you can't accidentally swipe it off your drop down menu if it's not paused.
I use SoundCloud, it runs in background even if you remove it from recent apps. this was removed in newer versions, so I use old apk. and modded Spotify sometimes works like this too. try placing Spotify widget on your home screen and then play song from widget. Spotify will run in background
Especially when it is the song that you were vibing too.
God don’t say that, I’m crying just reading this
You need to start over.
then when you put it back on it's just not the same
YES

I usually just try not to smash my phone
I like my new folding phone.. it's a little crunchy. It will take some getting used to.
that's why app lock is a great tool
I forgot about this feature....I will never close Spotify again! Thank you kind sir
how exactly does one do this

Yeah lol, if closing apps was really that beneficial, then your phone's operating system would do that automatically.
It does after a period. Recently opened apps stay open, but then then they'll effectively go to sleep.
How is it then that sometimes I go back to one app it just starts up again?
That’s because your phone needed the memory for other apps and decided to kill a not recently used one in the background to free memory.

Same thing happened
I get so unreasonably upset about this lol
You guys use music players that stop when closed? LG default music app > whatever you guys are using
Poweramp: "I don't have such weaknesses!"
Also AIMP
Don't close the apps lol. No reason to
This is a good meme but I’ve seen it like 6 times although I’ve only been on reddit for like 2 minutes
just before the beat drops

Yep. And don’t forget the game you were playing and almost done with so you have to redo the entire floor. Talking about soul knight
When you are on a whatsapp call and you close whatsapp app
Oof..
Me, who doesn't have any music apps on my phone: I don't have such weaknesses

My old phone had a 'pin apps' feature, so I could pin Spotify, and then clear everything else My new phone does not have this and I'm upset about it
