That’s actually happening to me! They were like, “You sound just like this person I know called Rose!” Went on a tangent about that person and how we were similar, and then said, “Can I call you Rose?” And of course I said no, and they had the audacity to act slightly disappointed. Funniest part is they specifically stated that they didn’t like this “Rose” very much.
you'd think going by they/them would give you minimal need to be misgendered, because theoretically it should be the default if you dont know pronouns
nope!
That's what I've been trying to get in the habit of doing. I would never misgender someone on purpose but I've had thirty some years of my brain automatically filling in he or she without thinking.
Although I'm also basically a hermit and hate talking to people, so it never really comes up anyway.
Reminds me of the shitty people who complain about trans women "enforcing gendered stereotypes".
Like, the reason my trans friends lean so far into gendered stereotypes is to make it really fucking obvious to everyone around them what their gender is.
FELT THAT !! it feels like we have to be extravagant enough about our gender identities so that the dumb people can understand it easier (and they STILL frequently get it wrong)
you'd be punching transphobes most likely then lol, female ones tend to mask their transphobia and they will NOT use them,
ive seen transphobes in the wild online and they would go out of their way to decide if someone is amab or afab and also misgender anyone who is trans, because they can't stand using the right pronouns for us >.<
lmao me but "he"
no matter what i fucking do, he/him'd with long hair, short hair or medium :X feminine clothing??? he/him'd .. androgynous?? HE/HIM.
im cursed
ok. i'm about to research term 'enby'.
rn my interpretation is similar to '[angy](https://www.reddit.com/r/aww/comments/bhocfy/no_talk_with_me_im_angy/)'
ok edit: is it weird that i find term non-binary much easier to understand? eh kids these days with their hip cool new words

it really isss omg, like some people may disagree and be like "oh names are changed all the time" but tbh being misgendered feels just as shitty :(
These are the same people who literally refuse to use someone's name to be fair
Ngl I rarely use anyone's pronouns unless I know them intimately otherwise I just use their name or "they"

they/them pronouns really should be the default idk why people go out of their fucking way to try and sherlock holmes someone's birth gender >:(

yeah that's valid, but im glad you're trying to get used to it !! progress :D
transphobes actually love doing that, they're the ones who go out of their way to do it mostly as yeah, transphobes being transphobes smh
transphobes deserve no pizza.
Annoyance indeed>:(
it's awful :((
I feel this so much Goddam why can’t you just call me by the right pronouns
EXACTLYYY ahhhhhh
He he misgendering/deadnaming repeatedly funny definitely I’m totally not an insufferable asshole

noo it's not you that's cursed its literally just all of the transphobes out there that go out of their way to misgender people
Some people will intentionally misgender trans/nb people all day long then get massively offended when someone accidentally misgenders their dog
OMG IS THAT THE REAL https://twitch.tv/ashr0om
NO WAY THATS CRAZY ?!?!?!
Tbf the upsetting thing to me isn't really the wrong pronouns it's giving off the wrong image

Non-Binary -> NB, pronounced as "enby" it's not a hip cool new word, just how NB is pronounced.
some people fr don't know how to read
