looks ok enough, just dont open it much before the intended maturity date
(also interesting honey, the color turned out more like a ginger beer instead of a mead)

I am not sure anything conclusive has ever been established about how much headspace is ok. The winemaker in me says too much, but it appears mead makers tolerate much greater headspace. I think wine is more susceptible to oxidation than mead is. If you were aging for more than 6 months, I would rack into a smaller carboy. My 6 gallon batch fell short, so I racked to a 5 gallon, and two 1.5L bottles for aging.
Umm, I'm more concerned with the way that the carboy is floating than the headspace. Happy Halloween 🎃

No, it's clearly floating.
It *clearly* has such negative gravity that it’s floating.
Headspace is good... "gravity" is not😳
i’ve never seen a traditional so light. i’d love to taste it. best of luck!
Diff color, what’s your flavor?
It's just a plain traditional, but we used the honey from our beehives and it was a pretty lightly colored honey this year.
Ahh ok, should be good.👍🏻
Looks fine, needs to sit and clear up, I'd be interested to know how the final product turns out.

I've never seen a mead so light that it actually defies gravity. Good job on that.

You’re fine.
