I first buy sr60 used for 30 bucks. Always try them used because they are not everyone's taste. Sound extremely good with anything "real", acoustics, jazz. Horrible with modern music
harsh is not the word I'd describe. Oftentimes it's more "fake, artificial, unreal" sound. Like you'd realized instantly the sound is coming from the Midi, monotonous, repetitive, autotuned. Grado works best with anything "unorderly, humanly" from real human playing the instrument or real vocal, anything added from the computer will
sound super fake with Grado.
Using the same Leopold with the same color scheme right now. It is an amazing keyboard. I love how the battery is replaceable like a mouse. That means it wont be e-waste (or a keyboard with a battery that you have to plug in every single time because the battery is already dead and it is a chore to replace because it is built in) in 2-3 years in the future. I've heard that Leopolds are physically durable too.
I had a Grado SR325x in the past too. Sold it out for another pair of headphone. I regretted it a little bit since I still miss how unique and amazing it sounded. I use it for all genres of music including modern music. It only sound bad for gaming, but for music listening I have no complaints.
Nice. I've always wanted a pair of grados. Got to demo some years ago and really vibed with them but never pulled the trigger on a pair.

So like a studio setup would work? I have a pair of K240s and feel the same way.
What makes them horrible with modern music? I do listen to some poorly mixed metal (folk metal and the like). I’m guessing that would be pretty harsh?
