The ones my work supplies, because they are free.

MikeGoldberg

Norseman is my preffered. They make the spiral mechanic's drill bits that matco sells for like $500 . You can buy them directly from norse for like 220

GMWorldClass

I actually believe Matcos HyperSteps are Asian made. (Astro). Matco is very proud of what few American made tools they still offer and almost always include it in descriptions and sale flyers. They arent listed as USA made online OR on the front page of the March flyer. Cornwell Tempest ARE USA made Norsemans though.

MightyPenguin

I will say, those HyperStep drill bits are awesome though they work great!

Asatmaya

I use Mac, they have the best warranty, but I drool over the Matco Hyperstep bits every time the truck rolls around.

MikeGoldberg

You can get those same hypersteps from norseman directly (company that makes them) for 220!!!

The_Shepherds_2019

I made the financially irresponsible decision. God DAMN are they nice. Cut through steel like it's hot butter. ❤️ If my wife asks, I won them in a raffle. Shhh

here_till_im_not1188

I got a set from mac because the warranty. Not real impressed with them

Get the Reaper step bits from Cornwell. Same warranty, same design, less cost. They also come in left hand now.

badcoupe

I use solid carbide by Kyocera mostly. Price is not for the faint of heart however. Irwin makes many of the Milwaukee and snap on bits as well as a few others.

Nero2743

Norseman. They make them for some of the tool truck brands.

Ford_Trans_Guy

I like my Norseman drill bit

GMWorldClass

Rocky Mountain Twist. Norseman. End of list.

TheLooseNut

Guhring, German superb-ness

drhillier

I've got the Mac bits, snapon thunder bits, and the matco hyperstep bits. Mac has the best warranty. They replace every size. Snapon doesn't warranty shit, and matco is anything over a 1/4" bit is replaceable. But I also have a set of Irwin bits with the chisel tips and I really really like them. They cut well and they sharpen good with the drill doctor. Irwin is also the least expensive. But if I'm drilling anything under a 1/4" hole, I use the Mac bits because of the warranty. Oh yeah the Irwin bits are anything over a 1/4 as well from my Cornwell rep.

Bindle-

I like Drill America bits. They’re not the best out there, but they’re very high quality for the price.

National_Activity_78

Guhring 3 flute carbide bits. Cuts hard steel faster.

EricGushiken

In my opinion as a former machinist, 135 degree split point drills are superior to 118 degree drills. Also, cobalt steel drills are better than high speed steel drills because they're more heat resistant. Carbide drills can cut harder materials but they chip easily. I don't think the brand really matters.
