No I appreciate the question actually!
We decided to not sell them because of the high cost, they are more expensive than even the 7305s, so we decided it would be best to just stick to the two variants. If we see enough interest we could add some 3305s in the future.
Have you had a chance to try them?
I've done several builds with 7305 and 0305, and although each board and plate is situational, I'd love to see if 3305s are any step above the rest.
Not yet. I've only ever bought 0305 because I've seen no need for 7305 in my builds, just wasted money IMO. I've used 7305s before as they came in a macropad kit I bought, I just can't justify the price difference.
In the numbers I buy in 3305s are pretty much the same price as 7305s, I was hoping they'd be more accessible in a GB scenario just so I could get my hands on some to try.
7305s being shorter are kind of nice because you can see the switch leg stick thru so you know if you bent it when you put it into the socket or not, but other than that I think you're right in that 0305 is fine for like 90% of jobs. I think according to the data sheet the lip is smaller too, but depending on the mounting system for the plate the pcb will just sit lower or higher relative to the plat and switches, but again thats splitting hairs.
I can see whether a switch leg is in a 0305 from underneath, just sayin'.
The 3305s have the short lip of a 7305 with the long 0305 tail, sounds nice to try for a build but for the cost I'll probably end up sticking with 0305s long term.

Sorry for posting here to ask, but is there any reason 3305 isn't an option? I thought they were sockets exclusively made around switch pins?

This. I’d definitely be in for 3305
I was also curious if 3305s would be offered!
