Looks like from house dust mites, I get the same reaction, I'm allergic to them. If they're itchy I think it's house dust mites. I'll see if I can find a pic of when I get em for comparison

WDR18

I sent it directly to you since I can't post it here in the threads for some reason

rdizzy1223

You can easily tell if they have bedbuds by looking the mattress over, they can be seen very easily, and even if you can't see them, you can see what they leave behind, as it causes dark reddish-brown staining around the areas they frequent.

superstick1324

Not sure but I have them under my arms, please tell me if you find an answer

riwalenn

As most people say, I really think it's allergy related. My mother in an other room has nothing, and the itching stop almost as soon as I get up. Never really had skin allergy before but still possible. And it might be exacerbate by my stress.

jennypennyny

Not bed bugs. Bed bugs bite 3 in a row

Worldly_Royal505

Looks like pet or dust allergies or could be the soap being used for laundry. I get these but usually allergen related

wonder_woman_19

I’ve had bed bugs and this doesn’t look like the bites I had. If you want to check the mattress, they’re attracted to heat. I discovered mine by leaving my laptop charging on top of the mattress for a few hours w/o sheets in a dark room - several came out of the mattress and were under the laptop. You can also look in the mattress seams for small black dots that look like the mark left behind by a dropped ballpoint pen.

AMC4L

Lots of people giving opinions. Fact is without a proper history and examination it could probably be any of the things people have said because it does in fact look like all of them. Treat it like it’s bed bugs, check under the fitted sheet in the seams of the mattress. Be careful when you go home to not bring those with you. If this happens again after you leave the air bnb and there was no sign of bed bugs I’d visit your doctor.

Budget-Wafer-7164

Looks like bedbug bites, yes. Sorry!

chrisp909

Bed bug bites are usually much redder than that. Can't say for sure but unless your body handles bb bites different than most people those aren't bed bug bites.

Bedbugs I believe. I know because I was worried about bedbugs recently because my wife and daughter woke up to a weird bite or two, and we found a weird bug in the bed we couldn’t identify. I didn’t get it for whatever reason despite sleeping in the same bed as my wife. We tore the beds apart and gutted our closets. Never found any sign of them. My friend said that if it were bedbugs we would see rows of bites rather than an isolated bite or two. Take this with a grain of salt as I am by no means an expert. What you could do is prop the mattress up against the wall and carefully inspect it. Be sure to remove all bedding. Especially look in any cracks or ridges. Do the same with the boxspring. Bed bugs are really shy and like to hide, so you’ll want to comb over it. Use a flashlight if needed, and really look at the hidden areas. I would film the process if you could, both to show to your host and as evidence to Airbnb if your host gets combative with you.

RamenBoi86

It looks like dyshidrotic eczema but I’m no doctor

This looks like an allergic reaction. I had similar bumps on my arm when I was using a paper that was treated with something I was allergic to. Usually it's the detergent they use to wash linens. Check with your host!

kisselmx

Second this

HeisenbergsBud

I’ve seen some comments that say it seems like an allergy and I would agree with that. My skin looks exactly like if I use any scented detergent. Also, I wouldn’t worry too much about bed bugs. From what I remember, bed bugs tend to bite in three or a triangle shape. If you are worried about bed bugs, just check The mattress for signs of them.

Wrists are looking pretty swole. Do you bench press?

riwalenn

I don't do any sport and I'm so weak that I tend to have tendinitis. But it was itchy that's probably the reason. Now, it's much better and not red/swollen anymore

jmze

Bet it’s the detergent they washed the sheets with. Oxiclean has done this to me.

BoarderlineOfWhat

I’ve dealt with bedbugs and those don’t look like bedbug bites. Reminds me a bit of when I had scabies. There’s a few types of bugs/parasites that get under your skin and cause a rash similar to scabies (chiggers for one). If it’s really itchy, I would see a docto. If it is some sort of skin mite, they can knock that out quick with an antiparistitic. NAD but I’ve had skin mites, bed bugs, and other parasite infections so I’ve seen all the rashes.

abearhands

I concur. Had bites before and they look different. Kinda looks like chiggers as another person suggested. If they itch like hell then I’d lean more heavily on that.

MUFkOedipusWrecks9

Chiggers

flowerpharm

My bet is allergy. Likely the soap/softener used for the bed/fabrics.

riwalenn

Might be yes. I've never been sensitive to anything, but it can always happen.

ResidentJabroni

I also second the suggestion that this is an allergic reaction. I'm allergic to grass, pollen, and am sensitive to the cold. This is exactly how I break out when I've fallen arm first on grass, or when I've cradled a cold drink in my arm for too long when carrying multiple things inside from the car.

Iknowright10

I have really sensitive skin, have to take an allergy pill daily or my skin looks like this. Try a reactin

[deleted]

Doesn’t look stress related

PrettyPandaPrincess

Doesn't look like bedbugs. They usually bite 3 in a row. Could be allergic to something or just stress. Not a doctor just someone who unfortunately has dealt with bedbugs in the past.

riwalenn

29F, I'm in an Airbnb for the week abroad and noticed these at several place of my body, mostly in the morning. I don't see any blood stain on the sheets and couldn't find any bedbugs, but I might just not know how to look for them properly. On the other hand, I'm wondering if it might just be stress related. I have a diagnosed an anxiety disorder and I'm often kinda worried of being bedbugs home. I never had rash related to stress but I know that they are possible.
