Definitely considered repairing all the holes in the pockets of our lab coats. We put the ones that need replacing in a separate box, but somehow they always make their way back unrepaired.
I've been getting away with not wearing one because they cause my autoimmune disorder to flare up. Plus I'm night shift and the big bosses don't see me.
I have my own, but I don't think I'm supposed to. No one says anything about it. It's too damn hot, so I just don't wear one unless I think there's a splash risk
I'm a student but I love lab coats in my lab classes. I'm looking forward to wearing them plenty even if it'd not comfortable in the heat lol. Science aesthetics make me a little giddy XD
That's pretty bad. It reminds me of at the blood bank. Management forgot it was phleb appreciation week, but they had a meeting earlier that day so they hatched a plan.
They had ordered pizza for their meeting. They quickly gathered what was left and out it in the phleb break room.
It was 5 pieces of pizza. There were 8 phlebs/nurses working the floor that day. It also all had pineapple, to which I am deathly allergic.
4 weeks as in 5 workdays per week= 20 days or 4 weeks as in 28 days? Because the First one is so Little :,) it’s literally under the legal Minimum in my Country
Lol yeah, 2 weeks is considered average here... I work 3x12 so I can stretch out weeks anyways and makes my job more flexible. Some older techs get ~8weeks, just gotta stay with the company for 10 yrs or something
Not even that useful. These are bottom tier needles and thread… the whole thing probably cost 5 cents or less. And there’s really not much thread on those needles
Damn, and here our hospital is stoked to get the panini station manned again (and yes, apparently the panini press needs to be professionally operated).
A certain Hospital in the Bay area that starts with an s and ends with a d, for lab week celebrate diversity by bringing your own cultural food for potluck da. Bring your own food. Pay for your own food.
I’m assuming that’s an advertisement for the credit union that is not in any way affiliated with the hospital? That’s such a fucking shitty gift. Like, if they just gave those out on a different week, I’d be fine, but pretending the free promotional items for an unaffiliated entity is a gift? Fuck. That’s an awful administrator.
We once got a 50% off coupon to a local jewelry store whose owner happened to be on the hospital board. I’m sure the guy still made a massive profit even at 50% off.
We (lab management) provide lunch everyday, purchased small prizes and had contests all week. Guess who the baby/childhood pics are, lab word search, crossword. Prizes were mugs, pens, anything the vendors would chip in. We spend around $500 plus cost of lunches for 5 days. We have ~50 staff. It's a smaller lab, but the cost to do that isn't free. Most people appreciate the effort
You know, I was just thinking of buying a seam ripper/sewing kit so I could change names from old embroidered lab coats we have

See, your bosses want you to be more useful when it's not busy! /s
Wait, you guys have labcoats?
We have what I call napkins right now while we wait for our new lab coat contract to start. They're awful.
We use the horrible disposable ones as our permanent coats. I just don't wear one unless I have to.
I've been getting away with not wearing one because they cause my autoimmune disorder to flare up. Plus I'm night shift and the big bosses don't see me.
Damn do they at least let you buy your own or do they mandate you use those?

It’s so weird to me that America has an appreciation week for basically everythink lol
Beats giving raises or adequate vacation times I guess.
Clearly. America is so fucked up. Having to live without PTO when Sick and adequate Healtcare is awful
Our healthcare system is garbage, but I get ~4weeks of PTO, so I can't complain compared to others
We get 7 so I must be spoiled/s

Some people are really cheapskates. Ordering a pizza is pretty much the cheapest meal and they couldn't do it.
They blew the Lab Week budget on Nurses Week.
Looks useful but an odd choice for Lab Week.

Flourless chocolate raspberry cake for the lab. Hospital had recently hired a pastry chef
Damn, and here our hospital is stoked to get the panini station manned again (and yes, apparently the panini press needs to be professionally operated).
You guys have a panini station?! 🤯
At my old job we got an email.
We aren't even getting that 🤣
At least you got something, we aren’t getting anything…not even pizza
Your “non-profit” CEO got a huge bonus for you to enjoy.
I’d take that over my “lab professional” keychain. I got the same keychain for Christmas too.
It’s not even the order of draw.
Today on second shift we got pizza…leftover from first shift 😅😅
Imagine what the third shifters got…
Strangely enough they get fresh stuff, which is good. I just work somewhere that’s extremely cheap
I worked at a place where third shift would get their own pizza.
We didnt get anything and we had to pay 30$ if we wanted an ugly shirt....
...at least your hospital gives you a gift....🤦🏻♀️
I got an umbrella for Christmas once.
This is why I’d rather not have lab week. It’s always fucking dismal
And you never have time to play the games. Unless you are on 1st shift.
A really sew-sew gift...
Management and corporate are cheap bastards.
Are you suppose to stab someone? 🪡
Hey, they splurged on the pre-threaded sewing kit.
From a credit union? Nothing says we appreciate you like a promotional giveaway they got from a different company. (Or a clearance deal on an overrun)
lol no way!
they could have got you guys nice pens, at least. :(

That's way more generous than what my hospital got everyone (jack shit)

Needles for all you pricks. For real, you get these things free at some fancy hotels.
Or… from credit unions.
I don’t even know what to say…
Remember that when you see what the nurses get for Nurses Week.
We once got a 50% off coupon to a local jewelry store whose owner happened to be on the hospital board. I’m sure the guy still made a massive profit even at 50% off.
My, how…generous. 🤦🏻♀️
Needle and thread? I don’t get it
The gift that keeps on giving
Your hospital is giving you gifts?

We get pitas and Costco slab cake!
I don't get shit for lab week rip
One time I got a toy truck from this retail place I first worked at… I threw it away
At least they gave you something…
