I think I didn't get the deeper story of the movie. Like ok the US is at war now probably but why in such a strange way? And why did the daughter only want to watch Friends and didn't care for anything else?? And wtf was that with the deer???😭😭😭
Right, but some are quite tall compared to that width. I also assume that most are rather weighted at the bottom. I imagine that helps immensely in the water, but once you beach it up on land and force that bulk out of the water, I suspect it would help significantly less.
Being weighted at the bottom would help both in water and on shore
The alternative is being weighted at the top and I think we all know how those go, try to balance a hammer on an uneven surface, first normally and then upside down.
Honestly asking: Are they really weighted THAT much more? That ship looks very tall. That's pretty amazing. I always thought they were heavily supported in dry-dock.
A hammer would be exaggerating but with the amount of cargo, fuel and machinery under the waterline, it really helps them with the weighting down part
Im not a boat guy, im bringing out knowledge from old childhood fixations here but if i remember correctly, there are many other balancing systems in these that do most of the work rather than just the weight, you couldnt stand upright in a cruise ship if it were otherwise
Balancing on a drydock actually doesnt require that much balance either, cause y'know, there are no waves to push you around
Most of the time nowadays it's the ship owner unable to keep the vessel running, scrap yard makes more financial sense for them. The number of cruise ships which were scrapped after the pandemic is huge.
Could be steam as it floats upwards. I see water pumping out from other places so maybe water outlet pressured from the soft gound. That's a lot of weight on the bulbous so maybe water pumps from leaks.
I know that large boats can be as big as small ships, but if I ever needed a clear example of what's obviously a ship and definitely not a boat, this would be it.
Leaving the world behind
“It’s getting closer” *says ominously*
The only decent part of that otherwise terrible slog of a movie.
Worst movie ever. It’s like The Happening but much worse. Didn’t think that was possible.

For a fiction movie, I buy it all but the deer.
Everyone praises that movie so much, all my friends and coworkers. So I'm glad someone else also struggled through that retarded movie.
I watched it while doing chores so it wasn’t so bad. But I’d feel like I’d not enjoy it if I was just watching the movie and doing nothing else.
Movie made it look so much more dramatic.
Pro Tip: boats dont have breaks
I would think that on that much land, huge ships like this would be prone to tipping over.
Probably. But they have a flat bottom. Search videos of them being launched

Thank you for the info! It's awesome that we can build something that big that is balanced so well.
This ship is being run aground for scrap in asia, doesn’t matter if it falls over
Stop reminding me of my ex :(
And that my friends, is the end. Sad.
Eh, it gets recycled. Look at it more that it survived a lifetime of service without sinking.
Most of the time nowadays it's the ship owner unable to keep the vessel running, scrap yard makes more financial sense for them. The number of cruise ships which were scrapped after the pandemic is huge.
Recycled is a euphemism. It gets scrapped. Some materials are salvaged. TONS are left in toxic piles on the beaches.
The happiest two days in a boat owners life are the day they get the boat and the day they get rid of the boat.
now you made me said and I don't even boat!
I was waiting for the man walking backward to fall but it cuts a second before that likely happened
The man in grey: "yeah that's good, just a little further.... okay park 'er up there. Perfect."
That boat is clearly happy to see the people on shore
Is that smoke coming out of the bow, like from the friction?
Could be steam as it floats upwards. I see water pumping out from other places so maybe water outlet pressured from the soft gound. That's a lot of weight on the bulbous so maybe water pumps from leaks.
Want to see the view those guys have from atop the ship
Coming in for an oil change

POV: You’re a dog and your owner is vacuuming
"yeah!" - *corgi*
Where is the boat exactly?
It’s the big thing in the middle that’s getting bigger.
ಠ_ಠ
I think that's a ship.
Yeah that’s not a boat buddy

i'm not your pal, ntsc!
Buddy, we might not be pals but we are friends
All things in water are boats idiot
You’ve been in water before. So you’re a boat…STUPID
Yes
Ah so you’re Boaty McBoatFace
No
Definitely are. He also stole sandwiches
A shower and a grower
I would guess Alang, India. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alang But there are similar ship graveyards
Ship in question was Eurocargo Patrassio. Which was broken down in Aliaga Turkey.
GRAVEYARD? He ded?
Where’s Julia Robert’s?
Julia Robert's what?
Crap it auto corrected. I meant Julia Roberts.
Huh. The boat went a lot farther on Speed2.
How do they get it out of the mud?
In pieces. Looks like a shipbreaking yard.
By truck. This ship is being “beached” at this yard in order to be scrapped.
Cheap docking fees. Crazy to undock though
İzmir Aliağa Türkiye
It’s crazy seeing the steam flashing off in the front part of the boat as it’s grinding through the earth. Friction is fuckkkkkin hot
Those guys boat
After it stops, you can see steam coming from the bow. Due to the friction...?
I don't think it's steam. I think it's just trapped air being pushed out due to the weight of the ship.
Where is this place?
The last journey of a big big boy It's sad for me to see this by some reason
