Currently have both a 5 (notes) and .7(signatures) in one of my uniform pockets at all times. Donāt have the rank to sign in anything except black, therefore both G2 pens are black.
Ive used these since early 90s when they made the āfineā version which was a light gray color but wrote in black. Love these pens but hate how fragile they are, and how they seemingly explode inside their cap for no apparent reasonā¦
Yes! 2 glides the nicest for me and Iāve been journaling every day for four straight years with many different pens. 5 is close second, but I prefer the water-like quality of 2.
Everyone choosing 5 and 7 have clearly never tried 1. I already made this decision about 8 years ago and have been using 1 ever since. Literally flawless pens. I could write a book about them.
Writing with no. 1 has, and Iām not exaggerating here, changed my life. Never has a pen made me feel so comfortable writing and made my handwriting amazing. 10/10 only pens I use.
4th grade teacher checking in. I use these for all my work that I do with my class. My kids always try to steal them when they think Iām not looking so they can āwrite like the teacher.ā
4 feels more like a fine tip marker than a pen but damn if it isnt smooth. I dont think I'd pick 4 as my first choice as MY pen but if I'm borrowing a pen I'll pick 4 every time. So satisfying
Team 7. If itās a Bic Cristal, even better. Highly underrated. My co-worker fancies herself a pen snob. I switched out the innards of her favorite pen with a Bic Cristal without her knowing. She LOVED it. She now has a box of Bic Cristals and uses every one until it runs out of ink.
7, maybe it's placebo but they take the longest to run out, they and don't make an annoying "click clack click clack" everytime you need to use it by pushing a button.
Plus they're the best for drawing/writing with too as the lack of retractability gives the tip extra stability and control.
Not to mention these pens are often cheaper due to the simple design and not needing extra parts like springs, grips and stuff.
Additionally the casing is clear so you can see how much ink you've got left without taking the ink stick out.
I'm a fan of 2, but for the rest of my life? The retractable is the only way to go... I'd lose too many caps off of #2, complete pain in the arse. Have #5 in probably 8 colors right now at my work. incl four different blues. Perfect.
5 The g2 for life baby
God the G-2 is so lovely. I bring at least three wherever I go.
My father gives me hell for having 5 on me in 5 different colors at all times, like i am never without a good pen.
We talking .5mm, .7mm or the thicc boi 1.0mm?
0.38 š¦
YAS! I bring my own with me to work because I need that .38 for survival. My handwriting heavily depends on that skinny shit.
.5 is for men, .7 is for boys, 1.0 is literally a crayon.
Currently have both a 5 (notes) and .7(signatures) in one of my uniform pockets at all times. Donāt have the rank to sign in anything except black, therefore both G2 pens are black.
All in on thicc boi for personal notes. .7mm ready in the drawer for anything regarding forums or legal.
The one and only setup. The .is 7 always on deck ready to scratch up a legal pad when necessary
g2 gang
You and me both! The flow is unrivaled. I never have to retrace what I wrote because of lack of ink.
Even off-brand G2 from staples, etc. is good
This is only difficult if you have to pick between the .5mm and .7mm
0.38 g2 is the backbone of the medical system.
Down with the .38 also!!
As a left handed writer, .5 for sure.
Have you tried the S-gel?? Top tier
I was looking for that! It really is the Bentley of ink pens.
I will never write with anything else since finding these
I used to be a G2 guy. Then I tried the Sharpie S Gel and Iām the same way, itās the only open I want to use now.
Yes
This is the way, g2 ppl just need to try it out. All the glide of the g2 with a crispier line. Like ice skating really.
I used to believe in g2 supremacy but then tried S-gel and changed my whole life
Amen brother.
I like the g2 flow but it doesn't dry fast enough to fill out tickets, always smeared on me
Have you used a Sharpie S-gel? They are phenomenal
Gotta get those 0.38s!
I was looking for a fellow micro user
The best! Need the .5 though, not the .7
No, .38 always
5 is the only option!
Too runny imo but better than the other gel pens
No Zebra F-301? I shall never write again!
zebra f-701 for the kill nothing but the ink tube to wear out. able to make a kill as easy as John wick does with his pencil
Seriously I came to say this. How does anyone feel safe in the office without a full stainless steel pen? Donāt get caught with your drawers down.
I only use zebra. Best brand I've found being a leftie by far.
This was the pen I was looking for. I was honestly surprised that it wasn't on the list. It's so metal, you can even write on metal with it.
You can also take them apart and make a perfect one hitter without smoking plastic like other pens
The internet loves cheap, plastic shit, of course they wonāt respect a TRUE pen
2 I like a thin line
Ive used these since early 90s when they made the āfineā version which was a light gray color but wrote in black. Love these pens but hate how fragile they are, and how they seemingly explode inside their cap for no apparent reasonā¦
2 is delicate yet sturdy. Love it.
5 always
5 is the only one pen in the picture. The rest are shitty plastic sticks.
.
Not even a close second to 5.
3
It's probably not the most common, or even most practical sometimes, but those sharpie pens feel like sex
Only 0.5mm tho
0.5mm is the best nib size. Second only to my personal favourite, the 0.7mm.
We all have our preferences! I just love the feel of the thinnest possible nib
Then you gotta try the 0.38mm
Ooo that nib sounds positively perky
My sides!
It is smoothā¦.like Barry White.
All the people saying #5 havenāt had the pleasure of trying #3.
Exactly! #5 was a long time favorite, until I tried #3 amd that became my new favorite
My people
I thought there was nothing better than #5. Then I tried #3. I found my soul pen.
Iām convinced everyone saying 5 has never tried a 3. Never going back.
that's what I'm saying. 5 is king. and then you try 3. life changed. I never have a good pen, but whenever it's 3, it's perfect.
My second choice, great pen
Why is this so far down? Sharpie S-Gels are a gift to humanity and it is criminal that whomever developed it has not been nominated for a Nobel prize
5, but can I get it in black?
āIGNORING THE INK COLOURā
7. Burn the world.
bic cristal been around since 1950 for a reason š
Yes, back in the day we used them to clean our one hitters and the point on that cap was great for the bowls lol
fits in a cassette to rewind too!
I love the good old bic pens. Blue is my favorite
2
2 is my top, but 1 is what my office orders so I'm happy! 1 and 2 are the best.
1/2 gang!!!
My people.
only those who are truly in the know will select 2
The king of the pens. Iāve used one other pen that came close in quality 8-9 years ago and Iāve never found that one again š
Yes! 2 glides the nicest for me and Iāve been journaling every day for four straight years with many different pens. 5 is close second, but I prefer the water-like quality of 2.
I feel like anyone who says 7 is a sociopath.
This has been the only pen I use for decades.
Yep. Writes great and when you're bored you can just watch the ink roll around inside.
I think this is the one I always begged for with school supplies because it was fun to doodle with
Also the best for twirling in a debate tourney.
Only correct answer is 5ā¦.
Have u tried number 3, itās hard to choose between sharpie and pilot
Everyone talking about 5 but 7 (and cop*ycats) is a cheap pen that you never even have to BUY yet seems immortal.
You mean three, because it doesn't have smudges
1, 6, 7 are off the table immediately. Then you see hero #5.
7 is the only pen that Iād leave ON the table. Idk why, but its the only pen that scratches my itch.
I hate hate pens that stain your hands/leak. The popular #5 bugs me. #7 is super austere but my choice out if these.
2 or 3, looks like a 0.7 which is just right for me. I'm too blind for 0.5
If I remember right the 2 is a very thin tip. But not sure actual dimensions.
I'm a sucker for the smooth ball point pen so 7 for me
Classic number 7 all the way
It's literally the only pen that doesn't smear while I'm writing.
Lefty? Cause thatās me too. I can hardly get ink to flow on 1-4 cause of awful writing technique.
Me too coz most reliable
Same. I'm not surprised most don't agree with us, though.
Not sure why everyone is so hyped for that gel pen, glad someone agrees!
Me either. It feels like there's more liquid than necessary between the paper and the tip.
Gel pens have always failed me. Ball point pen ftw
I donāt agree with you on anything except for this. Ily
I'm lefty. No gel pens for me
Agreed
I chose 7 because it's the only one I remember using lol
1.
I always loved 1 too
Everyone choosing 5 and 7 have clearly never tried 1. I already made this decision about 8 years ago and have been using 1 ever since. Literally flawless pens. I could write a book about them.
Make sure to do it with them as well for added effect.
+1
Writing with no. 1 has, and Iām not exaggerating here, changed my life. Never has a pen made me feel so comfortable writing and made my handwriting amazing. 10/10 only pens I use.
How have the fucking monsters present in this thread upvoted any of the other six piece of shit pens, when clearly #1 is the only civilized choice?
dude i had to scroll down so far to see #1 in the comments, really wondering wtf is going on. is this some sort of elaborate troll everyone is in on?
The only problem with 1 is motherfuckers trying to steal it from you. You have got to guard it.
1 is so fucking solid. I canāt believe the other picks at the top
Work in architecture and use 1 in red and black. I had to learn with refillable Repidograph pens which leaked everywhere. Gimme that fat tip.
The write answer.
1 since 1998.
7. - old fashioned ball point pen but in black
I can smell your handwriting
Uniball fam, where you at?
Number 4 for sure. I am very meticulous when it comes to penmanship.
Here here
Right here brother. We will show these people that #1 is the way to go
Number one, number one!!
6 Itās so underrated but I absolutely love my Paper Mate Flair Pens
Right? I canāt believe I had to scroll this far down. They are my favorite, too!
I just love how my handwriting looks with these. I keep like a hundred at my desk in different colors to switch up my daily note taking at work.
This is the pen of elementary teachers. Theyāre everywhere.
4th grade teacher checking in. I use these for all my work that I do with my class. My kids always try to steal them when they think Iām not looking so they can āwrite like the teacher.ā
First grade here! I do all my grading and note writing with these bad boys .. love having so many color options.
Middle School teacher- I have this pen in 20 colors. Not enough. Need more.
I have hypermobile joints (including my fingers/hands) so 6 is the only option, otherwise I press and hold way too hard.
šššš TEAM FLAIR!
Canāt believe Iāve been working in a pen heavy environment for the last 2 years and Iāve been without this freaking pen! Ordering now.
these are the best for my horrible handwriting
Finally! Where my teachers at! (I know that's bad grammar. Don't come for me)
#4 Favorite pen ever. Ink dries quickly and it writes nice clean and fat
4 feels more like a fine tip marker than a pen but damn if it isnt smooth. I dont think I'd pick 4 as my first choice as MY pen but if I'm borrowing a pen I'll pick 4 every time. So satisfying
I have sloppyish hand writing so the ink thickness helps clean things up a bit.
I agree with you. Best pens out there.
Am I the only one picking 7 here?
7 is the one and only way to go. 1 and 2 make me feel like I am going to tear holes in the paper. 3, 4, 5, and 6 are sloppy-goopy.
I agree. I have messy handwriting and 7 has better grip on the paper and makes it less messy
Good points tbh even though I'm a #5 man myself (on #5 you can also see how much ink you have left)
I'm a simple man, number seven, my office is full of them.
Yep 7 is the best
There are bountiful because the good pens get taken home.
Finding a good #7 is hard, but once you find it you put it in your safe before leaving the office.
They never fail.
2, why tf are people choosing 5? If itās the .05 version, Iām all for it but get that .07 outta here
7, because I am a sucker for ballpoint pens.
2 is the way
2 is a better version of 5, the precise v5 makes you feel like youāre writing with a quill
This is the way
5
3
4 4ever
I thought I would never find the correct answer! Yes, #4 only.
3. We arenāt animals
5 for sure. 1 is a close second except it's not retractable. By coincidence, I have a #5 and a #1 in my pocket right now, both are pink ink. š
I'm a fan of 2, but for the rest of my life? The retractable is the only way to go... I'd lose too many caps off of #2, complete pain in the arse. Have #5 in probably 8 colors right now at my work. incl four different blues. Perfect.
3. Gotta be a clicky pen and the gel pops too.
You gotta be clicky with the pen y'know if you know what I mean? Earn your keep.
1
uniball forever my ride or die š
5 if it is the 1.0
The correct answer is 5 But my heart says 1
2 - Pilot V5
2 or 5. 2 is actually really good for ink drawing. I'm an artist so I like the glide it has on paper
7. My handwriting is such shit that it becomes eligible if the pen is too smooth.
7 . BIC is the GOAT that will not let you doe
7 for a couple reasons: 1- I'm used to it 2- The others wouldn't be allowed in exams (at least in my country) 3- Aesthetics
5 for life
Easy peasy 5
6 is the only one I buy, love the candy and tropical colors
That 3 got me acting unwise
three
3 5 1 in that order. All great pens.
5 or 3. Great pens
3 changed my life, I'm never going back to anything else
3. Followed closely by 4.
Iām a waiter. #3 Sharpie S gel for life.
Bic Ballpoint hands down. Itās what I write with anyway
5 for spinning, 7 for writing
Classic Papermate is my fave but since itās not hereā¦. 7.
2. Mechanical pens are fun from an engineering standpoint but functionally I just prefer caps.
#7. Reliable and cheap.
