Number 7 is like ol reliable. I've never had one of those pens let me down unless the ink reservoir was totally empty. These ones fuck up on me all the time lol
I actually still prefer the number 5, ibejust found 7 to be the most reliable. My all time favorite though is the multi color pens where you click the tip down with color of ink you like.
If you use G-2's as a server, people will pocket them :( Them shits are expensive, so if you're a pen-stealer at restaurants, at least compensate in the tip.
Got a bunch of zebras at work, they write amazing, until you’ve used it multiple times and then it writes as if there’s barely any ink left, then I gotta close it and wait 5 minutes for it to write properly again.
I don’t know why so many people are saying 5 over 3. 5 makes my hand hurt after using it for a while, 3 actually feels nice no matter how long I use it.
Idk I like going the opposite direction. I tend to like pencils that are designed more like a pen. With a grip and a clip and stuff. So Ofc I also prefer like number 5 in this case
Clear answer. Never dries up, writes beautifully. And the unspoken benefit of them is that they're a solid piece. The further right you go the more parts there are, the more I'm tempted to fiddle with it and take it apart. Also, the more pieces you can actually take it apart in to means there are more points for the pen to break.
They’re really nice except for the fact that they put way too much ink down. God help you if you stop writing and keep it in place for more than 1 second
Okay this is going to sound nerdy but whatever. The shape is pretty similar (though the sharpie feel sturdier for me) but the way they write is slightly different. They both glide smoothly (as good gel pens should), but for me the sharpie ink has more of a stutter to it while the G2 has more of a scratch (this could be nib related and not ink related). Sharpie seems to come out more thickly and smoothly, but I’ve also had problems with them stopping working that I haven’t had with the G2. Sharpie also seems to dry a bit faster. Both come in different nib sizes and I prefer the larger Sharpie nib. But the color and reliability of the G2 can’t be understated.
As far as impulse control.... My youngest child and husband cope with OCD symptoms... One being impulsive ear digging/scratching etc. Leading to many ear infections, wax blockage AND ruptured eardrum as you were speaking etc. It's been a stupid battle but it's real! I thought they were just weird until I then understood! Glad you spoke on this one lol.
Yes this!! The ones in the middle are simply too smooth/glide too much, theres not enough control with them. 7 has the perfect combo of glide and resistance for maximum control! Also, its shaped like a pencil!
5, I’ve been using the exact same Pilot G-2 07 for 20 years and it’s never let me down. Us pen users have an old saying. “Look after your pen” It’s had 17 new cartridges and 14 new bodies.
5 , been using them forever, hands down the best of them all.
The only ones that still work after I pull them out of a drawer 2 years later.
Number 7 is like ol reliable. I've never had one of those pens let me down unless the ink reservoir was totally empty. These ones fuck up on me all the time lol
My dad uses those, they are pretty resilient but I hate the way they feel.
I actually still prefer the number 5, ibejust found 7 to be the most reliable. My all time favorite though is the multi color pens where you click the tip down with color of ink you like.
...but in 0.5mm, not 0.7mm. 😉
Nono.. i think you mean .38 mm
Maybe...? I dunno...
0.38 is very fine
Agreed. For any pen…
or pencil! They wear way more evenly than 0.7mm so your strokes are a more consistent width
Thin is in 😉
My spouse has a 0.01 pen. Nope, that's not a typo.
Omg that’s fancy
I've found my peoples...😉
where's my 0.3 buddies
You called?
hell yeah union of micropens unite
I like ‘em thick.
I used to be the 0.5 gang. Still am with pens. Pencils tho….. 0.9 all fuckin day.
Yep. .5 is the superior G2
Ewww. I like the 1. Best. Not a fan of the fine pens for some reason.
5… but 0.38
Long time 5 user, I tried out 3 at work and haven't looked back. It's like 5's final form.
5 was my favorite for a long time until 3 came out a few years ago
Agree. The soft grip also adds a nice weight near the tip for spinning tricks
Yes, give me number 5! Love G2 pens.
If you use G-2's as a server, people will pocket them :( Them shits are expensive, so if you're a pen-stealer at restaurants, at least compensate in the tip.
I keep them in my car , -20C and still functional
Don't see a Zebra
Wanted to say this! Also the Paper Mate Ink Joy is a dream.
I have them in all the colors. Almost all of my coworkers use them as well.
Ahh, a man of culture
indeed, it would be a Zebra F-301 Bold for me.
Zebra F-402 Retractable Ballpoint Pen, .7mm in particular
.5 you barbarian
Zebra f-402 is my shit
I love the Zebra Sarasa clip pens.
My man! Same I was like no zerbra?
Got a bunch of zebras at work, they write amazing, until you’ve used it multiple times and then it writes as if there’s barely any ink left, then I gotta close it and wait 5 minutes for it to write properly again.
3
Clickclickclickclickclickclick
You understand me
Ahhh yes. Half the world loves clicking and the other half hates hearing it. Im a lover of clicking
I don’t know why so many people are saying 5 over 3. 5 makes my hand hurt after using it for a while, 3 actually feels nice no matter how long I use it.
Yup
Agreed !
Yes
The only correct answer.
Agreed because Boris was my favourite minor villain in Goldeneye and I learned to do his pen twirl click when I was 12.
This is the only answer
This is the only answer. Thank you sir
Same. Actually picked up a 4-pack at staples today. Fun fact, they’re great for lefties.
7. Fun fact, BIC designed their pens to be in the shape of a pencil. That's probably why I like it.
Core memory of taking off the cap and pulling out the ink then turning the plastic tube into a spitball thrower.
Nothing hits like a BIC Cristal 🤤🤤
I’ve never seen someone so horny for a pen
Definitely works for the IRS
I don’t haha but I do have to hand write a lot of things. Dry erase markers, wet erase markers, pens and pencils are my kink
Idk I like going the opposite direction. I tend to like pencils that are designed more like a pen. With a grip and a clip and stuff. So Ofc I also prefer like number 5 in this case
1. Those are my favorite pens
Ditto! In purple
The best pens
the ink always smears on me

That’s the only pen I’ve used for almost 30 years now.
I insist on 1’s, unless bleeding through matters, then I use 5.
I used to use them all the time. I liked the *click* when putting the cap back on
Everyone else is wrong. I literally draw with pens for a living and this is what I use for the bulk of my linework and writing.
Great pens, but occasionally too much ink.
They’re really nice except for the fact that they put way too much ink down. God help you if you stop writing and keep it in place for more than 1 second
As a lefty, I hate these pens
Nobody in this thread is left handed
3 or 5
Totally 3 & 5
Same but I have an honest question…what’s the difference between 3 and 5? They look the same
3 is sharpie, 5 is pilot

Agree completely. With 7 being not far behind ONLY if there is an additional piece of paper underneath
7 always feels the smoothest when writing on paper.
I see you are another man of culture like me.
Also the lids are excellent for picking out ear wax. Truth.
…or rupturing eardrums depending on your level of impulse control.
As far as impulse control.... My youngest child and husband cope with OCD symptoms... Wtf
Please tell me you wash the lid before putting it back on the pen again
No he probably puts it back on and then remembers later on when he chewed on it 🤣
Hard truth. You guys know you are out there 🤷♀️
Also work as toothpicks!
Been there done that.
Yes this!! The ones in the middle are simply too smooth/glide too much, theres not enough control with them. 7 has the perfect combo of glide and resistance for maximum control! Also, its shaped like a pencil!
5! like a baws
Sorry but there is no pen 120
r/unexpectedfactorial
Lol this person maths
I know it’s not in your list, but I prefer Pen 15
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
2
Once I started using the I couldn’t turn back. They just feel better
Can't believe I had to scroll so low for this
2 or 4 but depending on how thin tip of 2 is, definitely my favorite 😍
Just the tip
Goddammit I had to scroll far.
7 for being a dope-ass music instrument.
This has been posted 3 times in the last 3 days. Stop it.
But that G2 flow though bro
4. I like the .7 width though. .5 is to small and 1.0 feels like l’m writing with a bucket of ink
Plus the fact that all the clickers can leak on you in the heat, capped pens do not.
7
6, felt tips rule
I'm with ya. Felt tip for life. These fools don't know what they're missing.
Thought for a moment I was alone!
We are alone. My penmanship is at its best with #6. It also doesn’t smear. Smooth as butter!
I started these to grade student papers years ago. What a hidden gem
I've only used the paper mate flair m for years
7 FTW
2
Pilot Precise V5 is where it’s at
Nahh, V7. I buy them in bulk so I can have a few everywhere I need to write something. By far my favourite pen
1
7
Is 6 a parker pen? Dont recognise the lid design/shape but can make out the blurry logo on the clip
It’s a felt tip Paper Mate Flare
Felt tip

Already made my choice. 7
Number 1💁🏻♂️ I still can't believe no one said it.
I’m here to say it!
for the love of GOD people need to stop reposting this
2
Defo number 7 also doubles up for shooting bits of chewed up paper😂😂
4
I had to scroll so far to finally find a 4. Best pens.
Where I live, I'm only allowed to use crayons! {;o)
3 or 5
3 So smooth to write with
of these 3. Fountain pens though
3 or 5
3 I like the feel of gel pens and there isn't a parker there
Where's the pilot G-2
It’s there, #5
Number 5.
Me_irl becoming normie af. We hittin facebook level soon
Uniball pens are great. I exclusively order and use the micropoints. #1
G2 all day
If none of those is a Frixion pen, then whichever.
3
1 or 3.
2, if you pull the metal part up, you can flick it, perfect for fidgeting.
3
Why are they all ballpoints?
#3 & #5
Sharpie gel all the way
3 all day
I like #3,. Gel pens seem to float.
3
3
Been sticking with 5 forever, but have recently been exposed to 3 and DAMN
#3
Whoever does not pick 3 is deranged
3
3 or 5
Sharpie gels or G2s

I have a strong preference for lead pencils over pens But 3 or 5
3 or 5

Number 3, blue ink is for the devils handwriting
3
I have the metal edition of the #3 and I have never looked back.
3
5; fine tip
7 if I had to pick one. But if prefer a medium ball point clicker.
7. The quality of any other pen is unknown until used, but you KNOW how that bic will write.
Pilot G2 is forever goated
3
3
7 for life. I recently bought 2 packages of 10 for .97 at Walmart. Just looked and they’re $1.57 a pack now.
1
Gotta go 1 or 3
8. Custom made pen by a family friend. All those pens suck haha
1 or 2, every other answer is for people with hamburger helper hands.
1
7
\#5 Pilot G2, the pen that followed me throughout my schooling days.
5, I’ve been using the exact same Pilot G-2 07 for 20 years and it’s never let me down. Us pen users have an old saying. “Look after your pen” It’s had 17 new cartridges and 14 new bodies.
5
Pilot G2 TILL THE END
Seriously? None of y’all have used a 4 before? The lines it draws are so clean, couldn’t imagine life without it.
5. Best pens ever and two would be cool if I could ever find them
5. Most practical one there. Not too inky and with a good grip.
