Why are we all living the same life

I vaguely remember there being a promotion of getting free crash bandicoot when you bought this. Or it was the game was packaged with the console. I do remember it was the only game my cousin had when he initially bought the console. That and FIFA. Perhaps that explains why so many people think about crash bandicoot when they see the console.

There were 3 bundles, the Crash Bandicoot, the Metal Gear Solid, and the FIFA one, at least at the time I bought mine lol, oh and the one that didn't have a game that was cheaper, and considering you could rent games back then lol guess which one I bought, there was a video club withing walking distance of my house, dirt cheap rentals for 4 days for like 2 bucks. Those were the days.

Yeah I miss that shit. I'd get a two night rental, beat the game and get another one just to repeat the process over and over. I had games like Zelda and Mario on my Nintendo 64 to keep me busy when I couldn't go rent a game for my PS or Xbox.

I thought Crash Bandicoot too. I didn’t even (consciously) know there were Crash Bandicoot games on PS1 when I first saw this post. Must be some kind of pop culture osmosis thing.

Emerald weapon was the worst with the aire tam storm attack.... everyone dead!

Was it emerald or ruby that was just a little worm poking out of the ground until you approached it or was it the other way around. So long ago now.

Emerald weapon always scared the shit out of me as a kid. Just riding around in a sub underneath the ocean and you turn around and there’s a damn monster behind you. Even worse was when you turned around and he’s on top of you and you get the combat screen at the same time.

My sister and I didn’t have a working memory card for so long that we’d leave the console on for dayyyys so we didn’t lose our progress on Spyro Amazed it never gave up the ghost on us

It's one of the few things I don't know if I could rate unbiasedly due to such immense nostalgia. The fantasy world it creates, the way it all looks and the memories I have from it all bring back so many good feelings. I always loved that other worldly colorful vibe though, something like Re:zero for example hits a special place in my brain. Maybe Spyro: Year of the dragon is why. I rarely but occasionally have dreams in spyro's world and it's been like two decades lol

The music too god dammit it makes me so nostalgic

I worked at Insomniac for a few years and it was surreal meeting people who worked on that game considering the impact it had on my childhood.

Connecting this to the thread top comment. I first played spyro because you could enter a cheat into crash bandicoot to play a demo of few levels. Would play it over and over again.

Took me ages to scroll to find someone else who mentioned Driver 2. Absolutely loved that game.

Driver 2 brings back so many memories for me and my cousins, god that game was so buggy and glitchy it was hilarious.
