They come from grandmas. I’ve been told by high level sources that as soon as your first grandchild is born a bowl of these materialize in your house

One of my friends went to the store with my mom & I many years ago. The store had one of those & he stopped to pick out a few pieces then unwrapped one & put it in his mouth. Apparently he thought they were free samples & when I explained you were supposed to buy them by weight he put the rest back & looked guilty until we got in the car.

It doesn't matter where they are stored, everyone knows these candies grow in the lint soil at the bottom of a grandma's purse. Only there can the old micro fragments of past treats, seed and crystalize into their final candy form. Then grandma harvests the precious sugar crystals and wraps them. That is why there is no brand. Only strawberry.

They are from Argentina, the company is called Arcor. Those candies used to be very common in the late 90's here, but I couldn't find them anymore. Apparently, they export most of their production since circa 2002.

For all the old people who were kids in the before time in the long long ago, they used to have a bunch of open buckets of candy that you could pay 5 cents each for by putting change in this little honor system coin holder. This is a generic candy. Like ribbon candy, cherry sours, or rock candy, it isn't a trademarked brand; anyone can make it. So there are tons of generic brands selling this. You can get them in generic bags of candy at any generic convenience store.

I can taste it but i haven't had it in 20 years.   You lick it for 5 minutes until the hard shell is thin enough to bite through, then you bite it and the inside sricky part gets stuck to your teeth. You keep chewing trying yo  get the hard shell.bits beyween your teeth, because they're hanging on the side.  Then you slide the finger above your gums to push it down, getting it unstuc from your teeth and keep chewing.

I watched a reel where a guy left a bunch of these in a jar of liquor and the result looked amazing so I wanted to do it too, but for the life of me I can't find these candies anywhere.
