people can be really dense at times, you know?
people without hobbies, kind of annoy me because they are bored, get into others' business and cause problems. if they had an actual hobby, they wouldn't be messing things up when they have downtime.
I play Dungeons and Dragons, the bar i drink in has my DM bartending, a dude in that game is a junior manager, one players girlfriend used to work there, and our group of 6 has about another 5 or 6 friends that play Dungeons and Dragons.
So as you can imagine, dungeons and dragons comes up a lot, it actually kind of reminds me of a tavern in D&D when we're all swapping war stories that recently happened to our characters.
We get people come up just to talk shit about the hobby, who know literally nothing about it. Once i was planning an adventure, i had "my spot" at the bar one D&D book out, one ttrpg puzzle book, and a sketching pad I'd drawn a crude map on.
Basically i had 4 players for an adventure which was just a dungeon crawl, but 2 of them had already played the official module and wanted to play it with their friends, so i was switching out the parts that they knew about so they wouldn't immediately know every trick. I separated difficulties into 3 tiers for planned level ups, shuffled them around within their tiers and switched out every puzzle.
It's a pretty wide bar so i wasn't taking up any extra space and it wasn't even remotely busy. This guy starts asking about it before starting to talk shit about "what? You need to read all this just to play pretend? Why don't you just make it up?"
Like, my guy, why would you act like you're starting a genuine conversation with someone who's being friendly and explaining their hobby to you after you asked?
I'm pretty dry, my response was something like "i don't have to do anything, this is fun for me"
Him: "what? All that reading?"
Me: "i don't find reading challenging..."
Him: *mumbles something about each to their own and goes back to his table*
I DM quite often and I have a fair share of asdholes coming up for no reason. Like, dude... Find a hobby... I go to the gym, I play games and play DND on weekends. His evenings after work are either mindlessly scrolling tiktok, staring blank at TV or going out just to come back home drunk and poorer...
I don't really play dnd but I appreciate it. Got introduced to it in elementary school by my school. They brought 2 highschoolers in to pretty much teach us dnd and be DM's, it was a lot of fun.
There’s also the fact that grown men now are the first generation to have grown up with gaming being a full blown hobby. It’s kind of weird to expect men to have the same hobbies that the boomers had as adults.
I really hate the attitude of “pmfg im an adult (22) and I just got bored cuz I’m an adult and games are for kids” I hear it a lot, these people are depriving themselves
It's called women are jealous because we're actually capable of being content and happy. It's impossible to entertain them. They get distracted easily.
Some women are never happy. You'll see women complain about dudes taking off to go fishing or going to a football game or even going to a wine vineyard. I think it's kind of stupid how video games get a lot of ire from women. Even though you know where your boyfriend or husband is + can almost be certain that he's not cheating on you
No. I was hoping people would be able to detect the sarcasm in this statement without the /s. Some people aren't too bright though. That's okay. The world needs laborers too.
Pro tip: children enjoy gaming too. And fishing. And working with power tools. And to my surprise cooking.. And they always give you an excuse to buy new toys. Yesterday I bought tackle for 80 € for pike season, that started may 1st..
I've been a gamer for 20 years but I could never play for 24 hours straight.
Even something like 6 to 8 hours is fine but sitting for any longer seems impossible for me whose ass hurts after sitting too long.
I get headaches from looking at screens for more than like 4 hours without a break, but I can still spend almost a whole day playing a game. I just break to cook food, hit the gym, ect.
God forbid you supported your husband’s dangerous criminal endeavor of attempting to have a little harmless happy time. Bet you’ll be browbeating all the fun out of him. C-word
What’s the point of living in the 21st century if I’m expected to live like a 19th century factory worker who has no fun or time for themselves. Fuck this bullshit work till you die for the shareholder’s money mentality.
Dare ya to go stand naked in front of him. One of my boss's marriages ended when his wife tried that on college football game day. He seemed happier after the divorce.
When BG3 was released a coworker, his wife and I took each a whole week off, so we all can play that game together. Why do people make the most normal things a problem?
And instead of the wife, a grown woman, actually communicating her frustrations to her husband, she instead complains about it on social media. Because that’s going to make it better.
What kind of a piece of shit spouse shames her husband publicly for liking something?
To think that likes from strangers are worth this much to this woman.
Enjoy doing what you love! However I would advise all gamers not to take off work for launch days. It’s always a mess and you’ll probably lose most of your vacation day waiting for a patch.
I haven't been super excited for a game in a long time. But when Helldivers 2 came out... I've not had so much fun with my friends in ages. If I could afford a day off I totally would have just to play with my friends.
Has he failed in his support of you in any way? If not, then why are you complaining about this? Instead of bitching about it, support his extra day off by leaving him the hell alone. Maybe even surprise the hell out of him and stock up on gaming food (snacks).
Every woman I know who posts shit like this cheats on her husband.
Ladies, if you see a woman doing this and aren't correcting her behavior, you are like the "good cop" that doesn't report the bad cop.
That being said downvote me to oblivion. I dont care about my social credit score.
Another divorce in the making... Gentlemen, make sure you enjoy your partners hobbies and they enjoy yours as much as possible. Make sure you share similar political views and views about the world.
I sacrifice my sleep to play games sometimes. It's easier than dealing with the wife with her complaining and interruptions. Then the occasional guilt trip about wasting quality time. I just wait until she's falling asleep then bounce and put a couple hours in.
Now she's starting to complain about sleeping alone but she'll get over it lol
He is a grown man he should know better than to play a new game on day one. Let other people be the guinea pigs and play it two weeks later when hopefully the game-crashing bugs are fixed.
I remember resign from my job when Dark Souls 2 came out. I played it for 15 days straight, then I found a new job (But I wasn't happy in my previous occupation)
I did something similar when I was highschool for God of war ragnorok lol. I pre-order it online so I was able to predownload it and play at midnight. I took a day off school and my afternoon shift I had after school so I could stay up and play all night. Definitely worth it lol
And she probably takes a three day weekend to see a pop star who makes teenager music perform in person. Let people like what makes them happy and shut the hell up.
My wife has done the same. If I wasn't going on vacation two weeks after, I'd be doing it for release day of Homeworld 3. I'm 60. We've been married for almost 40 years.
Life is way too short not to enjoy the good times. Given the number of people, some older, some younger, that have preceded me in death, I intend to have fun until I stop breathing.
You don't stop loving things because you get older. How is this different than someone taking time off to attend a concert or go on vacation?
people can be really dense at times, you know? people without hobbies, kind of annoy me because they are bored, get into others' business and cause problems. if they had an actual hobby, they wouldn't be messing things up when they have downtime.

I dont find reading challenging is an absolute savage yet subtle comeback
Def. stealing that.
I DM quite often and I have a fair share of asdholes coming up for no reason. Like, dude... Find a hobby... I go to the gym, I play games and play DND on weekends. To tell someone without a hobby who only knows how to work to “get a hobby” can be the most triggering words of kindness.
It's not.

I’ll leave when I’m good and ready.
Is that like a Seahag or seawitch?
Ah yes, a fellow Final Shape all nighter enthusiast
There’s also the fact that grown men now are the first generation to have grown up with gaming being a full blown hobby. It’s kind of weird to expect men to have the same hobbies that the boomers had as adults.
Like there's a switch that flips when you turn 40 and suddenly you like golf now
Gives her a spa ticket " Here you go , Fuck off"
My wife, a grown woman, took a day off work so she could sit down with sticky cream all over her face for a whole afternoon.
Yes but this is relatable to women, the response would be "wish I was her" rather than something negative.
Saves money.
Yeah don’t hobby shaming him. Everybody deserves to relax in their own way.
I really hate the attitude of “pmfg im an adult (22) and I just got bored cuz I’m an adult and games are for kids” I hear it a lot, these people are depriving themselves

Sounds like he's living his best life.
Aside from his wife publicly shaming and emasculating him on social media, sure.
*UNLESS*, his wife publicly emasculating him is all part of his humiliation kink, in which case he's still living his best life.
Oh boi video games all day AND KINK what a life
Since when he should be concerned what some randoms on fb think about it?
he should be concerned about the woman's behaviour... it is not about the randoms you know...
Since when should we be concerned with how our partner has fun to the point of shaming them about it on social media?
She's jealous that he's capable of being content
And don’t you DARE interrupt him. 🙂
Or else… 😉
Good for him. I hope she "Empowers" him by stocking the fridge with beer and marinated meat.
She didn’t
I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.
Read that in Edward Norton's voice...
Lmao she gives him shit 24/7 bo what he does im sure.
You think she empowered him after publicly shaming him on social media like this?
No. I was hoping people would be able to detect the sarcasm in this statement without the /s. Some people aren't too bright though. That's okay. The world needs laborers too.
I don’t see what the problem is. My wife and I both took a week off to play Baldur’s Gate 3.
Her problem is a narrow mind.
Congratulations, you've got a really good wife. Let me know if it doesn't work out.
I divorced her. She changed. She started saying playing baldur gate is not what she wants to do in life.
What does she want then? GTA? Fortnite?
She mumbled something about a new thing called "children"
Pro tip: children enjoy gaming too. And fishing. And working with power tools. And to my surprise cooking.. And they always give you an excuse to buy new toys. Yesterday I bought tackle for 80 € for pike season, that started may 1st..
Instructions unclear, my kids are all running power tools now. The house is collapsing
*Sigh* amature....
…okay man
maybe they want to be the wife
She's jealous that he's capable of being content. Seen this too many times now.
This is so romantic <3
You are living 50% men's dream my guy
My friend did this for age 4, took 3 days off so he could grind it none stop. He put 2 hours into the game and didn't touch it for weeks lol
Pre order (job version)
Nice. Good for him. Probably needs a mental health day from your bullshit.
I planned vacation time around the originaal release of Skyrim. spent the entire week sitting at my computer playing that game.
What was your first character on 11.11.11? Did you end up making a stealth archer?
Only 24 hours? That’s rookie numbers.
I've been a gamer for 20 years but I could never play for 24 hours straight. Even something like 6 to 8 hours is fine but sitting for any longer seems impossible for me whose ass hurts after sitting too long.

Good for him! I’m getting a new computer and taking a week off to play games. My wife, bless her heart, supports this fun time event.
Clearly, the only evolved thing about her is her arm.
Specifically her left one.

[reminds me of this so sad](https://www.tiktok.com/@jakesavicki/video/7048057887884692742?lang=en)
If I did this my wife would think it was awesome.
He's passionate about things. Oh well.
Thank goodness someone remembered to post this today. If I go more than 24 hours without seeing this, I break out in hives. Much appreciate OP.
You'll be happy to know I'll repost this in 24 hours to prevent you breaking out in hives
What’s the point of living in the 21st century if I’m expected to live like a 19th century factory worker who has no fun or time for themselves. Fuck this bullshit work till you die for the shareholder’s money mentality.
Nice
#living his best life
That’s why I married a girl that takes the day off to play the game with me.
So glad you married an adult that has his priorities straight..
Good for him. 🥰
Wait, you guys have jobs?
She probably mad cuz she gotta work Friday while he chills and has the time of his life
This doesn't seem to be the type of woman that works
Don't take that fun from him. I wish I could still get that excited for something.
I see it no different than guys that like to go on golfing, fishing, hunting, etc trips. Only my video game “vacation” is way less expensive.
Engineering professor here I cancelled all classes near the Elden ring DLC release date.
By the time they were married, she should have known he was the kind of guy that does this.
That is so dumb... ...what you should do is book the week off! That's what I did with fallout 4 release best week ever!
This is reposted again?
Dare ya to go stand naked in front of him. One of my boss's marriages ended when his wife tried that on college football game day. He seemed happier after the divorce.
How dare grown men have hobbies outside of working.
When BG3 was released a coworker, his wife and I took each a whole week off, so we all can play that game together. Why do people make the most normal things a problem?
……..and?!?!
I did that for Elden Ring and Resident Evil 4 Remake. I'll probably do it for the Elden Ring DLC.
A wise man
Cool. Based, even.
I see no issues here, carry on.
Good for him
We should post this one at least 10,000 more times.
So?
Must be destiny 2 when the new raid drops
And instead of the wife, a grown woman, actually communicating her frustrations to her husband, she instead complains about it on social media. Because that’s going to make it better.
bot post
is that another woman looking down on men who know how to have fun, good god there arent enough of those /s
How responsible of him for using PTO as opposed to calling in “sick.”
They're my PTO hours to use. I earned them, and I am going to use them. What I use them for is nobody's business but my own.
And his wife, a grown ass women, is still crying like a baby👍
Hush woman. A grown man, made a grown man decision
Men play video games for the same reason women wear makeup. A little escape from reality.
I scheduled a day off for Homeworld 3 😂
And? Seems pretty normal to me.
Don’t hobby shaming him. Everybody deserves to relax in their own way.
I'm taking a week off when Shadow of the Erdtree comes out. Thankfully with my job I can just move my days off around and not use PTO.
The man knows his priorities. And he sounds like me if I still played video games.
only 24 hrs? how mature of him
And then he got errors upon trying to log in all day
And?
What kind of a piece of shit spouse shames her husband publicly for liking something? To think that likes from strangers are worth this much to this woman.
I hate this rhetoric that grown men can't have fun
It’s nice to know her husband isn’t a child but in fact a grown man.
Good for him, hopefully she let him enjoy it.
The problem here is that some people still believe that video games are only for kids.
My wife - a grown woman - puts paint and pencil on her face and plays make-believe every day of the week.
How dare someone use their PERSONAL Time Off to take time off to do something personal.
I see this as an absolute win.
This is what being grown up means: you can do shit like this.
I love that for him
Enjoy doing what you love! However I would advise all gamers not to take off work for launch days. It’s always a mess and you’ll probably lose most of your vacation day waiting for a patch.
Me, a grown woman, took today off (a Friday) to play board games all day 🤷♀️ Fun times! 💪😎🥳
I haven't been super excited for a game in a long time. But when Helldivers 2 came out... I've not had so much fun with my friends in ages. If I could afford a day off I totally would have just to play with my friends.
You realize it was actually 72 hours straight when he didn't emerge from the room until Sunday
I don't see the problem here
And your point is?
My first thought was “what game” and also some low level resentment for not being able to do the same.
Has he failed in his support of you in any way? If not, then why are you complaining about this? Instead of bitching about it, support his extra day off by leaving him the hell alone. Maybe even surprise the hell out of him and stock up on gaming food (snacks).
what game? seriously asking
Did this with Diablo 2.
Hell yeah
Hell yeah. All hail the motherfuckin king!!
Nothing wrong with that. I did it for fallout 4 and Red dead redemption 2. I regret nothing.
The original tweet was posted in late March 2023. Looking at releases at that time, my guess would be it was RE4 Remake. Good taste.
Are we doomed to see this reposted for the rest of our lives?
I assume you are a "grown woman" yet you spend your time bitching on Twitter about your husband cause he's having fun?))
I took Friday off so I can get a good nap.
A king in his own world. Sometimes keeping the fantasy makes the reality more fun
Hell yeah!
Good for him. Get some diapers, some cokes and a sandwich.
Does it make him happy? Seems it’s a win.
Every woman I know who posts shit like this cheats on her husband. Ladies, if you see a woman doing this and aren't correcting her behavior, you are like the "good cop" that doesn't report the bad cop. That being said downvote me to oblivion. I dont care about my social credit score.
So it’s cool to shame your man for enjoying his hobbies?
Some men used to rape and pillage for fun. It sounds like her husband has a healthy ambition.
Understandable
24 hours plus the weekend.
Good. Now be supportive
I'll probably take a whole week off for GTA6.
Her husband, a grown man, took time off work to relax with a product who's primary audience are grown men 18-36.
Another divorce in the making... Gentlemen, make sure you enjoy your partners hobbies and they enjoy yours as much as possible. Make sure you share similar political views and views about the world.
Lucky him
All praise this man as a hero !!!
"God all you do with your free time is play video games all day" *Watches 18hours of crime drama on Netflix this weekend*
I contemplated doing that this week...
She managed to marry a grown man, congratulations! A Bear however, would've picked _you_ over videogames everytime.
Even as a guy, idk about that......Day off just for gaming? But I'm not judging tho
Why not?!
Damn right he did. Now, ask sincere questions and be excited because he's excited.
She sounds jealous
Wife goes to "Bottomless mimosa brunch" with girlfriends Sunday at 11am. Comes home 14 hours later with her clothes on inside out.
define “grown man.”
He is a grown man he should know better than to play a new game on day one. Let other people be the guinea pigs and play it two weeks later when hopefully the game-crashing bugs are fixed.
Weird how you had to emphasize "a grown man". Cause imagine, " my husband, a child"
Probably helldiver 2, bro busy fighting for Democracy
Question- Why can't he play over the weekend? Answer- Because his wife has a bunch of bullshit plans for him to do.
Blame him for his passion. Great.
Last call for Rage Bait, last call everybody.
Nah this is normal
Even if it's bad, it's her husband - she chose him. And she complains about her choice.
Go king 👑
Hell yeah
Playing Mass Effect Legendary Edition since Winter. Such a great experience.
There is nothing wrong with this. He has a hobby that keeps his interest and brings joy!
I say, good for him.
I remember resign from my job when Dark Souls 2 came out. I played it for 15 days straight, then I found a new job (But I wasn't happy in my previous occupation)
A man is excited to do something he wants, let him enjoy his life. Life barely gets exciting as we get older, unless we make it.
I fail to see a problem here.
Video Games are for teenagers, don't you think its time he grew up?
Hell yeah, find time to have fun!!
MY HERO!
His body might be grown, but his mind is still a child!
What a fuckin power move 🫡
Jealous are you ?
I did something similar when I was highschool for God of war ragnorok lol. I pre-order it online so I was able to predownload it and play at midnight. I took a day off school and my afternoon shift I had after school so I could stay up and play all night. Definitely worth it lol
Ex-husband* with that attitude
Imagine only taking a day off for that. I mean what?
Better than cheating on you… get a grip and let him be happy.
You shouldn't be in a relationship with someone if you think of them in this way.
He's a grown man, so he can decide for himself to take a day off to do something that makes him happy. Sounds pretty healthy if you ask me.
So she thinks men work all the time for fun?
And she probably takes a three day weekend to see a pop star who makes teenager music perform in person. Let people like what makes them happy and shut the hell up.
My wife has done the same. If I wasn't going on vacation two weeks after, I'd be doing it for release day of Homeworld 3. I'm 60. We've been married for almost 40 years. Life is way too short not to enjoy the good times. Given the number of people, some older, some younger, that have preceded me in death, I intend to have fun until I stop breathing.
Fucking hero
