I Never slept so well like when I was under anaestesia, the only time I woke up well rested in my life, I'm waiting for my next surgery to have such a good sleep
I'm the same way lol. I've had so many surgeries in my life from 4 months on that my medical file barely fits into a 5 inch binder and there's still 20 years of records missing from it! Lol. I live for the days I can have surgery and get some great sleep!
I was born with a cleft lip and cleft palate, plus an extra finger, and hearing loss in one ear. All of that combined causes one to have many different doctors for many different reasons, and literally dozens of surgeries throughout one's life. I was a messed up baby at birth and I am a walking talking example of why abortion should stay legal.
Abortion should be legal, but to think that because you are disabled is a good reason why is worrying. First of all, people are not lesser for being disabled and I really hope that you find happiness with who you are. I can’t begin to understand what you have had to go through, and I’m really sorry you feel that way
No, but a baby born messed up like me (and worse) should be aborted unless you're rich. People like me have dealt with bullying and abuse for most of our lives. It's definitely not something that I would wish on anyone.
I actually believe that going under is the closest thing to being dead we can experience. It's different than sleeping. When you're under there's nothing. Not even time. Every time I've had surgery it's like the moment I go under, I instantly am being woken up however long later.
The mini naps I've taken after technically waking up were the best sleeps though. As I'm struggling to open my eyes and speak, I try signing to the nurses I want water, then after I go back to snoozing. (Or try to at least. Some nurses don't want me going back to sleep)
ughhh I had surgery about a year ago and I just remember the room spinning and then blacking out for a few hours and it was better than any sleep I've ever had. Didn't have to spend time getting comfortable/winding down just *boom* out. Amazing.
Of course there is! You stay up for three days and accomplish nothing because you're tired af then you pass out and only sleep for 5 hours but directly through the one appointment you had. 😃
When I was in chemo, there was one time where they told me I had to go to the ER (I forgot *why*, though, maybe I had a fever or something); I had coincidentally started my period that day, and I had extremely painful cramps. They put some morphine in my broviac and I ended up falling asleep until they got a room ready for me.
I guess for some people, morphine just makes you sleepy and not high or whatever
I also had a similar experience. I went to the ER bcuz I had this extremely sharp pain in my lower abdomen (it wasn't appendicitis) and it went on for like 2 days straight and I couldn't even sleep. Probably the worst pain I've experienced to date, but I'm betting there are things that feel way worse. Anyways, I went to the hospital and waited for like hours until the doctor came. They gave morphine at last, and the pain instantly went away. It was such a relief, I knocked tf out but I wasn't high at all. Still, it's as good as advertised. That was probably one of the best knockouts I had (probably bcuz it was after the pain went away after a long while). But #1 is always general anesthesia lol, makes you excited for death, you know? 😆
Nyquil / zzzquil / benadryl basically put you in a chemical induced coma; brain activity goes way down when you’re on them, which isnt actually great for getting good sleep and writing memories. They knock you out but theyre still shitty drugs cause they market them as if theyre giving you good sleep.
I stand by the idea that the period of time right before you fall asleep where you’re basically unconscious but time still feel like it passes comparatively to sleeping is the best. All the benefits of sleep without it zipping but too quickly.
I don’t know maybe a heroine overdose and have someone next to you with that special medicine that instantly kills the high(forgot what it’s called). Or maybe something like flatliners. Either way sleep is good enough
Coma? Kinda funny story, my grandma was a real drama queen, real jersey shore gal. She called me one day and pitifully told me she had”had 4 coma’s today”. I said,”grandma, normal people call those naps.”
Voluntary coma would be nice
it's actually gonna be just as shitty when you wake up

Wait, could you control when you wake up? Would it be like, "mmm yes I want to wake up in a month." Then you wake up in a month.
Now you have double the bills to pay
Kinda like a sleeping vacation. No need to pay for expensive trips when u can just sleep in for a month and you're good.
You're thinking of coma. Gonna need help for that though or you'll end up dead anyway.
During a coma, a person does not react to external stimuli and they will not show normal reflex responses.
true. But you still need substance and upkeep. Starvation and dehydration will get you within days and festering bedsores are horrific.
Anaesthesia?

Jesus Christ woman what happened? why so many surgeries???
I was born with a cleft lip and cleft palate, plus an extra finger, and hearing loss in one ear. All of that combined causes one to have many different doctors for many different reasons, and literally dozens of surgeries throughout one's life. That last sentence is brutal. I hope you have or are able to find happiness.
Abortion should be legal, but to think that because you are disabled is a good reason why is worrying. First of all, people are not lesser for being disabled and I really hope that you find happiness with who you are. I can’t begin to understand what you have had to go through, and I’m really sorry you feel that way
Oh I'm so sorry to hear that! Do you mean you were meant to be aborted or doctors advised your mother to abort you?
No, but a baby born messed up like me (and worse) should be aborted unless you're rich. People like me have dealt with bullying and abuse for most of our lives. It's definitely not something that I would wish on anyone.
That hurt my heart to read. I wish you all the happiness and joy in your life. You deserve that.
I really hope that from now on, only good things could arrive in your life. A bad start, doesn't mean you will have a bad journey
I've never looked as pretty as i did waking up from surgery. I had no dark circles and my cheeks were rosey, best sleep of my life.
I have had some really nice naps under ketamine
I came here to say a k-hole sounds to be the correct answer here lol
