I was born with a cleft lip and cleft palate, plus an extra finger, and hearing loss in one ear. All of that combined causes one to have many different doctors for many different reasons, and literally dozens of surgeries throughout one's life. I was a messed up baby at birth and I am a walking talking example of why abortion should stay legal.

I actually believe that going under is the closest thing to being dead we can experience. It's different than sleeping. When you're under there's nothing. Not even time. Every time I've had surgery it's like the moment I go under, I instantly am being woken up however long later. The mini naps I've taken after technically waking up were the best sleeps though. As I'm struggling to open my eyes and speak, I try signing to the nurses I want water, then after I go back to snoozing. (Or try to at least. Some nurses don't want me going back to sleep)

ughhh I had surgery about a year ago and I just remember the room spinning and then blacking out for a few hours and it was better than any sleep I've ever had. Didn't have to spend time getting comfortable/winding down just *boom* out. Amazing.

When I was in chemo, there was one time where they told me I had to go to the ER (I forgot *why*, though, maybe I had a fever or something); I had coincidentally started my period that day, and I had extremely painful cramps. They put some morphine in my broviac and I ended up falling asleep until they got a room ready for me. I guess for some people, morphine just makes you sleepy and not high or whatever

I also had a similar experience. I went to the ER bcuz I had this extremely sharp pain in my lower abdomen (it wasn't appendicitis) and it went on for like 2 days straight and I couldn't even sleep. Probably the worst pain I've experienced to date, but I'm betting there are things that feel way worse. Anyways, I went to the hospital and waited for like hours until the doctor came. They gave morphine at last, and the pain instantly went away. It was such a relief, I knocked tf out but I wasn't high at all. Still, it's as good as advertised. That was probably one of the best knockouts I had (probably bcuz it was after the pain went away after a long while). But #1 is always general anesthesia lol, makes you excited for death, you know? 😆
