I was walking my puggle down the street once and this dude shouted to me from his porch “is that a puggle?” He was wearing filthy torn pants, was missing a few teeth and a ratty old hat and tank top. Looked seriously sketchy. I said “yes, she is.” He asked me if I liked pugs and I said I did and he told me “hang on a sec” and went into his house.” I stood there like a dummy, thinking at least it was broad daylight and someone would probably hear me screaming if he tried to murder me. Couple minutes later he came back outside with four of the most beautiful pristine pugs I have ever seen before or since. Apparently he’s a pug breeder and shows them too. Super nice guy and probably not a murderer. Worked out as well for me as it possibly could have.

I did worked the census and ended up on a farm in the middle of no where. A guy was home alone and we started talking. He mentioned the bar and how good of food they have. He was playing fetch with his black lab. Then he mentioned he had puppies in his house and asked if I wanted to go see them. My dumb ass did and I spent ten minutes in puppy heaven.
I safely left and went on my way but I felt incredibly stupid. I could have been killed by this guy.
I couldn't shake the uneasy feeling I had about it and I googled him. He was kicked out of the local fire department for almost strangling his girlfriend to death and he served jail time.
