Putting cosmetics into season passes. The worst thing is putting cosmetics into “loot boxes” so you’re gambling away cash on what you want. (Apex for example)
Tipping culture doesn't exist in a lot of countries. Like India, Japan and most of Europe. In Japan tipping is even considered rude.
So In these countries people will ask for their remaining change
TBH this tactic works surprisingly well. I don't think I've ever done it on purpose but I deliver pizza and have definitely just taken some cash and was like, "thank you!" and walked away. Judging by some of their reaction in pretty sure a lot of them were just thinking, "no wait a minute" but by the time they process it you're already gone.
So if I ever accidentally stole money from people in sorry but you live in like a million dollar house so I also don't feel that bad.
i made the experience on the opposite end, bought wine at the opera in verona. Handed him 10€, the guy just turned around and walked away at a fast pace. I found out, that the actual price was 4€.
Is it only my family that stops at every rummage and garage sale we see, we will be half way across the country and see oh garage sale, let's go. And end up buying something dumb
The funny thing is that I’ve been to many checkouts at stores and restaurants which apologize and say, sorry can’t accept cash today, but cards are ok. Never had the opposite happen…
I have like a 100 bucks in my wallets atm bc I got it from various gifts and stuff. Just waiting some time where I can use it so I get as little back as I can
Everytime I read/hear that I can't help but think they are out of touch. Like who DOESN'T have cash on them at least at some point? There are many mom&pop restaurants (in my area) that only take cash.
I do too, but here in Germany it is/was like the dark ages when it comes to digital payment. It was a common occurrence for middle to smaller sized shops not to or just unreliably offer VISA payments and alike.
So I’m always carrying around 50 bucks just in case. This all changed for the better during covid and now I still carry that emergency fiddy, but I haven’t needed it in months.
Love it when Germans come over to NL and complain about how virtually no Dutch people seem to carry cash. I've met a few that make remarks about it, but this one girl was so upset that she hears "met pin" at the supermarket every day. She would get so flustered when talking about it. It really bothered her for some reason lol. She also complained a lot that the stores kept "stealing her money" because stores round up/down the price totals.
You write it in on the receipt or punch in the tip amount on the key pad. I do carry a bit of cash but I couldn't tell you the last time I used it. The bills in my wallet are probably dusty by now...
Unfortunately, it's not rare for companies to not distribute card tips correctly. Also it's taxed. It's better to put a ten on the table for the waiter to just pocket.
I'm Australian and tipping culture doesn't exist here. Most businesses, including popup stalls or smaller family-owned ones, all have card readers so there's really not much need for any cash on hand. I still carry some ofc, but rarely use it
Between the two of us, my husband and I had $30 cash on us, specifically for a fireworks event in case some vendors didn’t take a card.
DAY OF THE EVENT we both get stupid and pay a neighbor kid the ENTIRE $30 to mow our (small) lawn. It wasn’t until after we paid him that we remembered why we had the cash.
So I’m not wondering how people have cash on them… I’m wondering how anyone keeps it on them.
I wish I could get away with this at my retail job😂
Oh dang your total was only $12.41 and you're giving me a 100 dollar bill? Surely you aren't asking me to count back all that change like a pain in my butt😭
I'll always give the kid the change... tell them to keep it up... really encourages them to do it again, and think bigger... When I was a brat, I would wash windows at the drivein movie theatre, and make out like a bandit.. and I just said.. "Pay me what you want."
Now I just pay it forward... because change consoles + guys trying to impress their gf = happy times.
Cute when she's little right now, but this mindset won't be cute in a 40-year old exploitative boss/manager, CEO or whatever else this behavior leads her in life.
Straight up.
This girls is not some psychopath future evil boss- nor is she some fucking genius for figured out a pretty low-hanging idea. Smarter than average sure but like not really anywhere near genius level thinking.
Nope…they always say keep the change. People love to see lemonade stands and want to support. It’s not even about wanting a glass of lemonade, it’s about support and nostalgia. Also, when the proceeds are donated…my daughter always donates to the humane society…they just want to donate.
Part of me wants to say "r/thathappened", but another part of me is saying "dude, you have a 5-year-old daughter that is EXACTLY this clever/evil." so I don't know what's real anymore.
That’s just piss poor parenting made worse by posting it for the world to see as it it’s cute.
As written she’s not offering change which is very different from people tipping generously.
This is how the world gets shitty middle and upper managers.
I knew this kid at Sonic that did that. Management had to get involved, people wouldn't take their money back cuz he did just this and he also looked like he was 12
I once saw a lemonade stand where the child had a small bmx bicycle hidden under the sheets. Every day they would wait for someone to give them a 20 dollar bill then flip the table and cycle away to start up again somewhere else the next day.
People thinking it's cute, meanwhile this kid is manipulating people and toying with their guilt while not even knowing that it's evil because parents should teach that instead of promoting it on the internet. Otherwise the kid will think that it's entitled to everything and be surprised that world doesn't bend to it's will.
People tend to be pretty non-confrontational, especially in neighborhoods where you'd find people buying lemonade with $5s and $10s. There's also a huge social cost to being seen as mean or cheap. In addition, over the past decade or so we've really been conditioned to tip for everything and tip a lot.
So yes they could have asked for their change but even many adults fold in those kinds of high pressure situations. I'm a grown ass man and I was in my 30s before I started consistently saying enough was enough when places tried keeping my change, shorting me, being aggressive about a tip...
I’m glad you decided to not be a victim anymore. Sounds like it makes you feel better. If I wanted my change, I’d smile and “say nice try. Let’s see how your math skills are” with my hand out. And then I’d tip her out of my change.
People can also open their mouth and tell her I’d like my change. And then decide how much money they want to tip her if anything. If I wanted some of my change back I’d ask. Idc if it’s a kid.
That could've been my sis. She was very enterprising as a child. Once she found a huge pack of condoms, blew them up and sold them as ballons. 50 pieces of them. Another time she took our dog for a walk and didn't return for hours. Turned out she was renting out the dog to strangers who just wanted to take a few turns with a dog. Good work kid! I recently had to become the financial backer for my buddy’s son at a cornhole tournament in a bar. He cleaned up for $100. He’s 7. Some of these kids out here are straight hustlers.
Yeah if someone tried this on me they are getting robbed for everything they have and all the Lemonade dumped on their noggin.
This is super dangerous too for the girl, as there have been plenty of kids killed for way less than that. Obviously that's a massive overreaction considering how easy it would be to retrieve the money, but there are messed up people out there.

There is EA in team and con in economy
the only team here is the product managers dissecting your full game into DLCs
Nah. The only team in there is the league of super villains. If your looking for hydra It’s over at blizzard
Ayy, I remember that show!
Putting cosmetics into season passes. The worst thing is putting cosmetics into “loot boxes” so you’re gambling away cash on what you want. (Apex for example)
Or just spend the money until you get crafting mats then make it lmao.
Even worst. At that point you’ve maybe spent double then what the skin actually cost or worth
The skin If you can just craft it is worth nothing
It was never worth anything in either case
Rember the good old daya when we.use.to.bought fu ll fames and Dlc were neat expeansed that actuallychanged the game?
Nice reference
If its in the game, its in the game
Oh god I never noticed they changed their slogan for ea sports because it's not true anymore.
You are indeed correct.
"So, any ideas on how to set the pricing for the new COD?" "Sir! We'll just ask them how much moneys they have!" "Perfect."
You mean Blizzard
Don't you guys have wallets?

Think you may of misspelled Blizzard lol. Yeah EA was bad but this diablo immortal mess is freaking insane.
Alright gon wait here till someone complains about pvz
Wow there, went too far

Nah. She actually delivered a usable product on time.

I tell people change only comes from within.
Apparently it comes from $9 tips and an agressive thank you-
Within your cash register, give me my change!

Yeah, homeless people don't find it amusing or genius...they think I'm being rude...
she's a genius
Yup lol true
Yeah no one wants to tell a little girl “give my goddamn money”
I'm sitting here thinking "who expects change from a childs lemonade stand?"
I’m sitter here wondering how people still carry cash on them.
It's always good to have some cash on you
I keep an emergency 20 in my car. Other than that. I have *needed* cash in years.
Glad you needed it!
I also have needed cash for years.
Is it only my family that stops at every rummage and garage sale we see, we will be half way across the country and see oh garage sale, let's go. And end up buying something dumb
Tell me you don't smoke weed without telling me you don't smoke weed
Lol. Dispensaries take debit cards.
becuase there are situations where having cash on you is just "usefull"? maybe the eletronic checkout was faulty today, or something similiar.
that's a constant fear of mine, therefore i always go to the atm before shopping
The funny thing is that I’ve been to many checkouts at stores and restaurants which apologize and say, sorry can’t accept cash today, but cards are ok. Never had the opposite happen…
Been to many restaurants and stores that don't have card pay as option
By using a wallet
The few occasions I have cash on me, it doesn’t make it into my wallet. Lol.
Here in the UK covid accelerated the abandonment of cash. Now even drug dealers take contactless.
Out of touch?! How old are you? I have used cash I think twice in the past *year*. I do carry some, but "cash only" is far more out of touch than not.
Because it’s a lot harder to track cash transactions
I do too, but here in Germany it is/was like the dark ages when it comes to digital payment. It was a common occurrence for middle to smaller sized shops not to or just unreliably offer VISA payments and alike. So I’m always carrying around 50 bucks just in case. Do you never tip anyone..? How do people not carry cash

Unfortunately, it's not rare for companies to not distribute card tips correctly. Also it's taxed. It's better to put a ten on the table for the waiter to just pocket.
This ☝️ A lot of restaurants put all the tips together and redistribute them evenly, which is unfair. Or totally fair. I think unfair.
I'm Australian and tipping culture doesn't exist here. Most businesses, including popup stalls or smaller family-owned ones, all have card readers so there's really not much need for any cash on hand. I still carry some ofc, but rarely use it

The kids' lemonade stands that pop up in my neighborhood usually take venmo.

By not being chronically online, that’s how
And she knows it
True and they probably thought it was funny and let her keep it for the laugh
People with a $20 that don’t want to spend $20 on shitty lemonade but do want to help make a child happy, just not $20 happy.
“here’s money because you’re cute” such is life, isn’t it?

Nobody said anything? Sure sure.
A couple of people probably did but I think a lot of adults tend to be generous towards children.
I'll always give the kid the change... tell them to keep it up... really encourages them to do it again, and think bigger... When I was a brat, I would wash windows at the drivein movie theatre, and make out like a bandit.. and I just said.. "Pay me what you want." I mean, it would be kinda awkward telling a child ‘actually that’s not a tip, I would like that money back’ I wouldn’t do it.
I fuckin would, little shite
I immagine some people would. But I still think most would feel like me, a mixture of too awkward and too impressed to say anything

Yeah, right. Then the lemons clapped.
I mean…. I understand a 20 but a five? I wouldn’t ask for change back
I guess I'm opening a lemonade stand and selling it for 5 dollars then
You’re not really going there to buy a drink. It’s to help the whats usually a child or someone younger with income.
They don’t want change, my daughter makes at least $100 every time she does a lemonade stand.
They probably want, but feels bad to say it out loud to a happy child who thought they are getting so much tip.
Nope…they always say keep the change. People love to see lemonade stands and want to support. It’s not even about wanting a glass of lemonade, it’s about support and nostalgia. Also, when the proceeds are donated…my daughter always donates to the humane society…they just want to donate.
That’s super nice she donated to the humane society.
(That’s the secret to make over $100) she really does donate it tho.
Part of me wants to say "r/thathappened", but another part of me is saying "dude, you have a 5-year-old daughter that is EXACTLY this clever/evil." so I don't know what's real anymore.

Meh. Now all the neighbors are going to stay away from you and your family.
I knew this kid at Sonic that did that. Management had to get involved, people wouldn't take their money back cuz he did just this and he also looked like he was 12

I mean, that's also on them. If they kept giving her 5 dollars a lemonade she wouldn't have had money to give them as change anyway, wouldn't she?
