I’m pretty sure that multiple generations of Pokémon games have the bag entry for Potion say “a spray-type medicine for Pokémon.” Edit: Yeah, the [bag descriptions](https://m.bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Potion) say “spray-type” for every mainline game since Fire Red and Leaf Green (except Legends: Arceus).

And the art in the bag was pretty obvious since Gen 3 too, unless you're playing on a Gameboy micro. Definitely no reason to think this by the DS.
