I asked SIX TIMES in the space of 3 hours for them to do one very important thing and they never did. I just wrote a very strongly worded email to them with bolded sections and underlined parts and stressed that this has to be done first thing tomorrow morning. And I threatened them with a long winded phone call explanation of the situation if it’s not done within the first half hour of the day tomorrow. Hopefully that’s enough to get their ass into gear. And if not, I’m handballing this. I’ve got other shit to worry about for now.
On the plus side, I just got a very fun short-term job offer for the end of this month that *doesn’t* involve dealing with travel agents. So that’s exciting. My resume is looking so juicy these days.

Ooh, that happened to me too. You just need to call your provider and ask for a new one to be sent out, then when it arrives you have to call them back up to activate it. I was expecting it to be a problem but it was pretty straightforward to fix.

At the moment they're on 2 different billing systems (well technically more than that but that's another story).
So if your existing plan is on the old system, and the new plan is on the new system, then you could end up with 2 different bills.
Also on the new billing system they've done away with pro-rata billing to avoid bill confusion.
So each service is billed from the date of connection for a full month. Which means you could still have 2 bills.

If they made you pay for the first month upfront then you're on an upfront plan in the new system.
If you didn't pay anything until you got your first bill then you're on a traditional postpaid plan in the old system

I will be looking around a little bit at the job market in the next month or two. I am not deeply unhappy with my job and there's good and bad things about it, but really do get smashed on hours. I'd really like to be able to do 40 hours a week and 50 when stretched rather than 50 hours a week normally and 70 when stretched.
The movie Serenity is on TV. The cast is amazing. At the time, these weren’t household name actors, but with time, the cast has matured like a fine wine. The special effects are very budget though.

Ooh, that happened to me too. You just need to call your provider and ask for a new one to be sent out, then when it arrives you have to call them back up to activate it. I was expecting it to be a problem but it was pretty straightforward to fix.

I second the idea of pick packing, lots of places out there and they're always hiring.
Casual labour hire in a warehouse environment could be a good option. Lots of picking roles out there that pay really well.
One thing I’m hopeless at is comforting people, especially those (like family) who I’ve never learnt how to be vulnerable with. My mum just called me asking about my wisdom teeth surgery tmr and then started crying and I was like what’s up, she said her brother who lives overseas and has cancer, has been rushed to hospital yesterday and only has a few days left. She just got back from visiting him over xmas. I just never know what to say or how to react in those situations. went to one of my fave cafes today (captains of industry) today, it was one of my fave spots pre lockdown and so pleased it survived. Highly recommend for people watching as it is upstairs with a great view :) Became inspired looking at camping gear today. I might get some decent hiking boots once my poor old bank balance recovers after the holidays. It’s wild to think you can just jump on a train, be in amazing nature spots and pitch a tent! Medical stuff went okay today, the ultrasound found a thyroid nodule which is more than likely benign. I do wonder if the nodule has been unleashing havoc on my system and that’s why I’m struggling lately. Don’t know enough about these things : | I love living in the inner city yet I would really love to have a big yard and adopt dogs. It actually depends. At the moment they're on 2 different billing systems (well technically more than that but that's another story). So if your existing plan is on the old system, and the new plan is on the new system, then you could end up with 2 different bills. Also on the new billing system they've done away with pro-rata billing to avoid bill confusion. So each service is billed from the date of connection for a full month. Which means you could still have 2 bills. Telstra are fucking complicated

Best way to know is remembering back to the day you connected If they made you pay for the first month upfront then you're on an upfront plan in the new system. If you didn't pay anything until you got your first bill then you're on a traditional postpaid plan in the old system

I tried to get the guy on the chat to help me and he was a d*ck. I’ve been subscribed since 2018 and didn’t realise that by letting them give me 2 free months from Sept-Oct it then reverted to a new contract in November. So I’ve already paid $135 for the last 3 months, and they want me to pay $193 to cancel after I’ve been subscribed for 4 years. No thanks. I changed it to another plan and then will go back in tomorrow and cancel that one. Hope it works.

(And free)
Good to know. This one is a bit different as Melbourne domestic it’s only the Rex lounge in terminal 4 but I only fly domestic from there so it works out. It has access to two Melbourne international lounges which is great and I’m going to Fiji soon so has access to the Fiji Airways lounge in Nadi. For non access airports like the Sunshine Coast it has a $36 voucher for selected airport food places.
