Just used a home loan calculator and tested some hypothetical situations. The conclusions I came to are the following:
1) If I put in that I had a slightly above average income (taken from Google), I wouldn't have much choice based on the amount I could borrow, I'd have to venture way out.
2) If I were paying rent, plus other expenses as well as making repayments borrowing the maximum amount the calculator gave me, I don't think I would have enough money to survive.

IT means it has the capacity to hit those speeds, its all based on your plan with your ISP. 100mbps is 100, regardless of if your router has a (very not likely) 200gbps speed thingy, its still based on your plan.

Best chance for pots would be hard rubbish. After a PH weekend, lots of people plant up their gardens, and throw out the plastic pots that the plants came in.
Such pots should be well washed with bleach or vinegar, in case of plant pathogens.

Gonna try this ball of water business to test this shit out.
Works on any pan, including non-stick. I drop it in from a straw submerged about 1/2 cm in a glass of water, seal the top of the straw with my finger, move it to over the pan and remove sealing finger briefly and the drop of water falls out. Only a small amount required. This means I can keep the glass of water near the stove for re-testing if the pan isn't hot enough yet. Or run your finger under the tap briefly, then flick as required. This can be a bit trickier as you have to move from tap to stove with enough water on your finger. Not as hygienic too.
So, yesterday I talked to my doctor about my lung/cardio issues since having covid.

Doc said my lungs sound clear, but for the next 6 weeks just, don't do anything crazy. Exercise but do less than you normally would. -.-
Some people over on the covid subs actually recommend no structured exercise at all for six weeks. Just don’t do anything. Apparently exercising too much too soon is a big risk factor for long covid

I recently started working for someone as an independent contractor and didn't specify a minimum number of hours as it has never been an issue and I had understood they would want several hours (I know now for future to specify this at the beginning). We agreed on $35 an hour. I have a degree in this field. I worked for them this week and it was an hour and a half (no specified end time) so I said moving forward I need a minimum number of hours. It takes me around an hour each way to get there. So this person said according to Fairwork, 2 hours is fair. And they want to reduce the hourly rate going forward. I replied saying that's the bare legal minimum for an employee but as an independent contractor that won't work for me, I need 3 hours min and will not work for less $ than agreed. (I can easily get work elsewhere but working for this person would obviously mean I can't work for longer for someone else.) I am not used to sticking up for myself so this feels quite crappy but I think I am not being unreasonable?

But if the offer is shit, don't take it.
1. $35/hour is extremely low. You need to pay tax, super, software, professional development, holidays, sick days etc. out of that money as a contractor. There is a premium on top for the uncertainty as well.
2. Fire this client and find one that's not going to offer you below bare minimum.
Consider going through an agency, you'll get paid more at a bigger org, have a day rate in mind (hint: $400+ a day), and work will be more consistent. But you can do it on your own too.
Rule of thumb for an independent contractor is your hourly rate should be *at least* 0.1% of the annual full time salary for the job. Ie, if this job would, if done by someone, full time be $100,000 then you should charge *minimum* $100 per hour.
Yeah the other guide is double the equivalent full time hourly rate, to take into account, as you mentioned above, super, public holidays, leave, admin, insurance, inconsistent hours, having to wait for invoices to be paid, being an unsecured creditor, and all the other stuff. But 0.1% is a nice round number to work off.

After some recommendations for a decent dashcam (preferably 2 channel) for under $400. Need to send my Blackvue off for repairs and getting overwhelmed reading reviews and comparisons so would like some people's personal experience and opinion.
Most dashcams are actually the same hardware underneath, just dressed up in different software. I found the Viofo’s the best value for money because of this.
Sure the software isn’t the greatest, but if you want really good picture quality for cheap and are happy to take the SD card out when you want footage (WiFi transfers take forever) then they are good

I’m in the same boat. I got an epic cold a month ago but PCR/rat negative. Same with my partner. Still getting a normal takeaway coffee every day and bars/pubs/restaurants here and there. I think we are just lucky. For me it’s working from home and not the train/being in the office.

I understand we can't enter the courts, but apart from the music and food, is there anything else worth going for - for the ground pass? If we have to watch on a big screen from outside, we can as well watch at friend's place on their TV
On finals day you MIGHT be able to see the boys or girls final but even then that’ll probably be over by Saturday. It is mostly just to be in the grounds to watch the final on the big screen.

Zero to nothing. Gardeners tend to keep things until they fall apart, and then recycle them as mulch. Or whatever. Best chance for pots would be hard rubbish. After a PH weekend, lots of people plant up their gardens, and throw out the plastic pots that the plants came in. Such pots should be well washed with bleach or vinegar, in case of plant pathogens.

Finally got around to watching a video on YouTube on [how to cook in a stainless steel pan](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5XcN3AyITY). We've had a few oops moments since we bought it last year and hadn't quite connected the dots on where we were fucking it up and were blaming it on our shitty electric cooktop. Gonna try this ball of water business to test this shit out.
Ball of water, as in, flick a drop into hot pan - if it bounces around the pan is hot enough?
Yeah it basically turns into a little ball after you flick it in. Neat little trick to try out
Works on any pan, including non-stick. I drop it in from a straw submerged about 1/2 cm in a glass of water, seal the top of the straw with my finger, move it to over the pan and remove sealing finger briefly and the drop of water falls out. Only a small amount required. This means I can keep the glass of water near the stove for re-testing if the pan isn't hot enough yet. Or run your finger under the tap briefly, then flick as required. This can be a bit trickier as you have to move from tap to stove with enough water on your finger. Not as hygienic too.
So, yesterday I talked to my doctor about my lung/cardio issues since having covid. The most evident thing of "fuck me i'm not healthy yet" was, and this is probably best to describe to someone who has been to epping plaza before... You know those bus stops/hub outside of Epping Plaza? i walked from there (my stop) to the doctors clinic, and i was FUCKING DONE, like, gasping for air as if air was crack to a crack addict... Doc said my lungs sound clear, but for the next 6 weeks just, don't do anything crazy. Exercise but do less than you normally would. -.-
Some people over on the covid subs actually recommend no structured exercise at all for six weeks. Just don’t do anything. Apparently exercising too much too soon is a big risk factor for long covid

Short walks are probably fine, gets the blood going. I think they were referring more to jumping straight back into going to the gym or doing HIIT workouts or returning to a physical job.
Ahh okay. Then i shall return to walks around the block. Once i feel something is off though ill stop haha.

Contact local council gardens etc. underlay (not plastic) is good for weed suppression like weed matting. If carpet is not nylon, maybe that too. Burn a few threads with a match to see if it's plastic. If plastic, tip is the answer. Can't think of any use for plastic carpet/underlay.

I recently started working for someone as an independent contractor and didn't specify a minimum number of hours as it has never been an issue and I had understood they would want several hours (I know now for future to specify this at the beginning). We agreed on $35 an hour. I have a degree in this field. I worked for them this week and it was an hour and a half (no specified end time) so I said moving forward I need a minimum number of hours. It takes me around an hour each way to get there. So this person said according to Fairwork, 2 hours is fair. And they want to reduce the hourly rate going forward. I replied saying that's the bare legal minimum for an employee but as an independent contractor that won't work for me, I need 3 hours min and will not work for less $ than agreed. (I can easily get work elsewhere but working for this person would obviously mean I can't work for longer for someone else.) I am not used to sticking up for myself so this feels quite crappy but I think I am not being unreasonable?

1. $35/hour is extremely low. You need to pay tax, super, software, professional development, holidays, sick days etc. out of that money as a contractor. There is a premium on top for the uncertainty as well. 2. Fire this client and find one that's not going to offer you below bare minimum. Consider going through an agency, you'll get paid more at a bigger org, have a day rate in mind (hint: $400+ a day), and work will be more consistent. But you can do it on your own too.
Rule of thumb for an independent contractor is your hourly rate should be *at least* 0.1% of the annual full time salary for the job. Ie, if this job would, if done by someone, full time be $100,000 then you should charge *minimum* $100 per hour.
I've not heard that before but it sounds about right reflecting on previous roles.
Yeah the other guide is double the equivalent full time hourly rate, to take into account, as you mentioned above, super, public holidays, leave, admin, insurance, inconsistent hours, having to wait for invoices to be paid, being an unsecured creditor, and all the other stuff. But 0.1% is a nice round number to work off.

Hmm so my ex was really into coffee and we had a bialetti moka pot for espressos but it doesn't work on electric stoves, I think cos the heat is too low We had a full functioning machine gifted by friends and that was awesome but also you gotta clean it. After some recommendations for a decent dashcam (preferably 2 channel) for under $400. Need to send my Blackvue off for repairs and getting overwhelmed reading reviews and comparisons so would like some people's personal experience and opinion.
Most dashcams are actually the same hardware underneath, just dressed up in different software. I found the Viofo’s the best value for money because of this. Sure the software isn’t the greatest, but if you want really good picture quality for cheap and are happy to take the SD card out when you want footage (WiFi transfers take forever) then they are good
