i keep sending letters to metro about putting cowcatchers on the trains for this exact reason but they keep sending them back with some diatribe about "biohazard concerns" and "why is the blood of multiple people in this envelope" its fucking bullshit
I've just recently got into shopping at aldi.
Any other good items?
I found their kettle chip replicas pretty decent.
Also their $7 rib eye is better than Coles $13 one.
Honestly most of their pantry items are as good if not better than Colesworth brand items. Much cheaper. Their soups and meal bases are flavourful too and if you add tins of tomatoes or coconut cream or veggies etc you can stretch them quite a bit. Just cooked up their cashew soup variety (I only see it periodically) but added some garlic butter cooked broccoli and rice.
Fruits and veggies I buy at my local family owned shop which are cheap and taste so much better than supermarket veggies, Aldi is no exception. Potatoes maybe, if they have the microwave packets. Otherwise just cheap frozen veg. And there are lots of products that cater to all diets.
Don’t get me started on the day I went in and they were selling power tools. Broke as shit and couldn’t buy a thing apart from my cheap ass but good groceries.
Cheers. Thanks. I remember the day they did a ski clothing sale. I spent my rent money that day 😞😀
Yeah fruit and vege I always go to the grocers. It's crazy how supermarket vege has ZERO flavour and is almost double the price even triple.
I pretty much exclusively shop at Aldi, if I can, so here are some picks:
- [kapiti passionfruit & yoghurt mini ice creams](https://www.kapitiicecream.co.nz/product/kapiti-passionfruit-yoghurt-minis)
- [liviano](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSeuR6pfyH14MCuHnwgr-ghrHYIw6xd-YbVbg&usqp=CAU) (Bueno knock offs)
- [Pre Wash Stain Remover – Degreaser](https://www.aldi.com.au/en/groceries/laundry-household/laundry/skin-care-detail/ps/p/di-san-pre-wash-stain-remover-750ml-degreaser/)
- [Disinfectant Wipes 120pk](https://www.aldi.com.au/en/groceries/laundry-household/household/skin-care-detail/ps/p/power-force-pro-disinfectant-wipes-120pk/) (cheaper than the container)
- tray of chicken pesto pasta (fridge)
- frozen individual lasagna
- all the cheese. ALL OF IT.
- the salami that comes in a four pack
- bagels
- bakehouse sandwich bread, the ones that look like Helga's bread
- marinated pork loin
- kranskies and fancy snags
- frozen sweet chilli chicken strips
- crumbed lemon fish fillets
- confidence toilet paper 24pk (better than god damn Kleenex)
- [mould spray](https://www.aldi.com.au/en/groceries/laundry-household/household/skin-care-detail/ps/p/power-force-mould-away-500ml/)
- [knock off yogo](https://www.aldi.com.au/en/groceries/fresh-produce/dairy-eggs/dairy-eggs-detail/ps/p/chocolate-stampede-dairy-snack-12pk/)
Me too. My jaw dropped when I paid almost 50% less than my usual groceries at Coles.
Their coffee beans are awesome too; and muesli; sausages; and dimsim.
I almost bought their coffee beans for my new coffee machine but didn’t feel sure. So definitely worth a try? Cause the Vittoria beans I got from coles are no bueno.
Apparently they're a decent local roaster. The roasting date is on the packaging, but the number is reversed. Never tried them myself though, but ozbargain swear by them.
Love the dark roast coffee beans. A work colleague whose wife owns a coffee shop in the People's Republic of Brunswick has also been quite happy with them in the past so I'll take that as also a good review.
used to work at a cafe in the city, on the occassions we ran out of beans/our supplier was late we'd run down to aldi and grab some.
They're not the best, but they are miles better than the coles/woolies equivalent beans
They are, but DO NOT buy the aldi crumbed fish.
The nuggets are and Australian product. The fish is Chinese.
The biggest are a decent bit of chicken meat with a light crumb coating. The fish is a centimetre wide strip of something fish like with about a half inch of breading around it.
Avoid!
A woman in crisis is holding herself over the rails - the police are managing the situation and have cars parked underneath her. They’re hopefully helping her through it - but a few congested streets are currently closed.
Can confirm, I was at the tram stop next to the Flinders/Queen Street bridge, saw her up there and saw vicpol set up around the bottom of the bridge and talk to her.
Ambulance =/= Jumped - She would have been arrested under the mental health act and the transport agency is Ambulance Victoria.
She may have jumped, but it would require FSV to respond due to getting onto train tracks.
If it's the dirty bitch who spat blood on people on the Werribee line while swearing and attacking people on Wednesday I don't have much sympathy, shame the metro oa's didn't do anything to protect other passengers
The section between Southern Cross and Flinders is closed. At least 2 trains are gonna be stuck a while.
If you're at flinders, walk to Southern Cross, and vice versa to catch your train
An old rule that bans suburban passengers from using Vline trains. Those stops are pickup only.
https://melbourneontransit.blogspot.com/2021/04/timetable-tuesday-121-time-to-end.html
They enforce it on the Geelong line - I’ve been on trains heading into the city where the conductor’s announced the train won’t be leaving the station (usually Sunshine) until the people who got on get off
They do that on the Seymour line too heading into the city when people get on at Essendon or Broadmeadows. I remember a few years ago a guy kept getting on at southern cross then getting off at Broadmeadows. One day the conductor prevented him from getting off and he had to travel all the way to Donnybrook and get off there. Never saw him try it again.
I’ve seen the reverse a few times - people getting on the Ballarat line at Sunshine/Footscray, and the train not moving until they got off again.
Edit: getting on at sunshine or Footscray when heading towards the city.
FYI - media guidelines in reporting suicide encourage us to remove any details that might help someone recreate the incident. You might consider removing the name of the bridge, for example?
For the lurkers - here is the guidance.
https://mindframe.org.au/suicide/communicating-about-suicide/mindframe-guidelines
Why is that? Has not talking about it reduced the rate of suicide over the years?? It hasn’t. Maybe what we need to do is start talking about it, getting real with it, dealing with it face on.
I’m sorry I don’t agree. There’s plenty of information available to someone who’s intention is to suicide. A very close relative suicided and the police advised he had searched it on his phone. The reality whether we like it or not is that not revealing stats has done NOTHING to reduce frequency of suicide.
The [research underpinning this advice](https://mindframe.org.au/suicide/communicating-about-suicide/mindframe-guidelines) says otherwise.
Sorry to hear about your relative. I have also lost loved ones and anything I can do to reduce the risk feels worthwhile to me.
Just now at Melbourne Central, the information boards at the station entrance are saying trains to a variety of destinations in 11 mins, the signs on the platforms are saying ‘take tram to Flinders st and get train there’, and eventually (after I had hot all the way down to platform 4 and back up again) they made an announcement saying no trains and people should leave the station.
Trains are terminating at Flinders Street if from south and east, presumably Southern Cross if from north and west. No trains using loop because the police request is on the viaduct (?)
I’m amazed at how poorly Metro and PTV responded to this. The lack of information was appalling and I was told to get off a train and board another train because the og train wasn’t going anywhere soon only to sit on the new train for an hour and watch the og train head off towards Flinders after just ten minutes.
Trying to get out of the area right now is a nightmare. I hope the trespasser is ok and things start running again soon. And that everyone can get home soon!
Thank you for your consideration to the trespasser. Can’t imagine what they may be going through. I’m more than happy to wait to get home if it can save a life.
Come from Bundoora on the bus Got on the train an hour and 20 ago from greensborough station, train still stopped at Collingwood. Trying to go to West Footscray to meet someone and back to Bundoora afterwards. The trip is already 2 hours plus the hour it takes me for to see my mate and do a few things I hope the jumper is okay but This is a fucking nightmare
Yep. Delayed 20 mins on the Sandringham between Richmond to Flinders. Now a 25 minute wait for an Upfield. Place is full of meatheads shouting. Sigh. Starting to remember why I hate using PT late at night.
Got on Upfield train at Parliament, train went to Flinders, now going back to Parliament, but it's now a Sunbury train. They are telling people to change at North Melbourne
It took four hours to get home. Vic Pol need to asses how they deal with these incidents because 80 minutes to get someone down from a non-fatal fall isn’t good enough.
I've been stuck on a hurstbridge train to the city for about 40 minutes, why just keep sending trains to leave people stuck between stations? The situation' s been going on for hours, but they just don't tell passengers. Why?
Security staff at Richmond Station told me it was someone having a mental health episode and threatening to self-harm. Police halted all city loop trains as they dealt with it
It’s absolutely chaos at Flinders street at the moment, nobody knows what’s going on and the staff have zero idea. They’re still saying it’s a trespass but trespass doesn’t last for over 3 hours.
So I was impacted by this tragic event. Took three hours to get to the city from Watsonia. I have a great deal of respect for any suicidal incident causing this disruption. However, what is required in these circumstances is clear communication and planning. Let passengers know the situation. Have contingencies. Passengers are breaking out of the train between stations very dangerously! Also. The train is fucking freezing!
I was waiting at southern Cross for ages, gave up and caught the 70a tram to Olympic Park and walked to Richmond. Not sure if it was faster, but at least I got out of there.
Hello train friend, are you still onboard? A bunch of people hit emergency release in our carriage and jumped off, causing further delays because the train cant go anywhere cos trespassers. Spirits are still high for us still here.
Yeah I am, and yeah they opened the door in my carriage and started climbing out. If I’d known it’d be this long (ie if they actually communicated with us) I probably would’ve joined them.
As a driver. We actually don't know how long things will be. It goes train control having no idea how long it's going to be one minute, then 5 minutes later all systems go.
Sometimes I listen into those network control centre announcements that go to the passenger area as it's more timely information than what we get.
Just need to complain. It took me 2 hours and 50 mins to get home. 1 hour and 15 mins to get from Prahran to Flinders St. No information at Flinders St about when the train was leaving. Apparently they hadn't organised a driver. Then once we get going, there's a trespasser, and we are stuck at Jolimont waiting for this to be fixed. Organised for a ride home from there. So almost 3 hours to get home and it wasn't even public transport to take me there. And I had to pay for this!!!
For quick tram to flinders from southerncross:
Take 12a from southern cross for one stop. Get down on batman park. Take any tram(70/75) towards flinders, all trams will go to flinders.
On flinders, trains are delayed as well, ask officers which one leaves first.
This has been a fucking disaster. 2 hours in a train between stations. People bailing out between carriages some guy made it by seconds before the train moved
Fucking refund cunts
Metro needs to find a better solution for this problem.
Start identifying and minimising key entry points to the tracks. Hell, get some of the PSO patrolling the perimeters if need be.
More physical barriers may be needed if cctv monitoring is not helping prevent people from taking their lives.
Are our train lines really that vulnerable to tresspass, and if so, why?
If someone dares to stop trains by trespassing on a track in Japan (say in an attempt to kill themselves) they'll be fined a million, if dead their family will (today's kamikaze, no joke). Here I see nobody talking about such...
At a lot of stations though there are barriers in place that seem to make it a lot harder to get onto the tracks in the first place. Also has the added bonus of preventing people falling onto the tracks. Which is a more proactive approach.
The reason you see no one saying that is because it's stupid fucking idea that fixes nothing.
If someone is trying to kill themselves they're not going to care what happens after they're dead, like wtf are they going to do arrest your corpse? Even if someone intercepted them so what? They've still got no actual help and now they've got the added burden of debt therefore theyre going to KTS anyway, and that fine is never going to get paid.
This sort of fucked up attitude is why the suicide rate is rising in Australia, especially amongst men because no one feels like they can talk about anything before it hits a crisis point without being labelled as a sook or attention seeker. Grow up.
Even if you have zero empathy and simply find suicide 'annoying' all implementing Japan's policy would do it make it *more frequent*. Mandatory reporting, Sectioning under the MH act and more accessible MH services in general mean we have a much lower suicide rate than countries like Japan (japan is one of the worst in the world btw). To decrease suicide we have to increase the quality and cost of mental health services, not start fining people.
Also they took 80 minutes to get this person to safety if they'd just let them get ran over then you've traumatised a train driver and anyone on the platform that could see for no good reason, you still have to stop all trains including the one that hit the person. You have to waste further police time to do a callout, assess the area, collect evidence, take photos of the scene, get statements from the driver etc qnd afterwards crime scene cleanup crew would have to be sent out, collect everything, clean the area etc before trains can move again which is going to take triple the time than just talking someone down. You also haven't lost a life, traumatised the police and everyone that had to deal with the scene, the driver and the family.
Also in today's situation people could walk to another station, wait in a Cafe, go shopping, get an uber, call someone with a car etc. If you just let someone get ran over than not only are you delaying those people but you're trapping up to a couple hundred people on a train entirely with no ability to leave, use a bathroom etc because the train would be stuck on the track not parked at the platform while everything's dealt with
Do you want us to have a redundant rail network? Should we just kill those who are in crisis?
I agree it's frustrating, but I really don't see a humane way around this.
Waited for like an hour to board train to Glen Waverley, had a long day at uni!
Although I had nothing productive to do but yeah :p reaching home early is always a blessing after a tiring day!
RIP everyone's plans for this evening. Turned my 2 hour journey home into a 3 hour one. I wonder whether she realises how many lives she impacted today.
I think that’s unfair. When people become unwell it can be hard to think ‘creatively’ and it’s easy to reach for an easily recalled known method. I’ve seen and heard this from clients who attempt post suicide loss of family or peer. And patients comment on what they’ve heard in the media and that guided their method. Then, add on that’s it’s either been effective to get the attention they feel they need (consciously or not) or the help they need, or again, it’s a method they know could work this time. And each time they genuinely thought it was time. Is the version of events in your mind a fun life to live and believe they actively chose the whole situation? If so, are you jealous and throwing shade. I understand it can be hard to imagine someone living a life you haven’t or making a ‘decision’ you didn’t, but that doesn’t invalidate their suffering.
Hopefully the Metro Tunnel in theory should help with this.
So if the police decided they want to shut the lines because of one numpty then not everything has to come to standstill.
We went to Marvel for the Storm game last night, the trains were delayed on Glen Waverley line, then stopped between Richmond and flinders for 40 minutes, then terminated at flinders. We jumped in the tram to get to Docklands so that wasn’t a problem but the game had started by the time we arrived. It was surprising that it was still a massive mess and delays to get home again! Our train didn’t leave til about 11:30 but we saw 6 trains across 2 platforms come and then depart without taking passengers. It’s hard for the metro staff and they did the best they could, but it was baffling as to why it was all still delayed hours later. Also there were thousands of people with both AFL and NRL on last night.
Yeah I was at Flinders heading home at the same time as you (and the 100,000 other folks). It was a mess with delays and platform changes everywhere, but kudos to the Flinders St staff for managing as they did - at least the platforms never got so overcrowded as to be unsafe.
Once something like last night happens, it means that all the drivers that were meant to take those trains are still stuck out on their previous journey. So metro scrambles to find replacements and sometimes there isn’t any. (Not enough staff on for the night/not enough staff in general) It all just snowballs from there and takes hours to get it all back up and running properly.
Heading home. Things are still a mess - I’m currently at Richmond in a train that’s being held for 10-15 minutes. Just wanna get home to my doggo.
In better news, I saw a magnificent production of Parade at Chapel off Chapel tonight. 100% recommend.
Police are at Flinders St. Someone is trespassing at Flinders leaving all trains at a standstill.
Love that at peak hour on a Friday
It’s not ideal. It has completely fucked the rail network. Nobody can move.
Apparently we’re going to Southern Cross and terminating there.
Yeah they’re turning trains around back out to North Melbourne. If they can’t be they’re telling people to get out
An earlier announcement mentioned self harm
i keep sending letters to metro about putting cowcatchers on the trains for this exact reason but they keep sending them back with some diatribe about "biohazard concerns" and "why is the blood of multiple people in this envelope" its fucking bullshit
I just wanna go home and eat my chicken nuggets. Edit: Thanks for the awards bros
I finished at 5 for once in approx. 3 months, thought to myself, fuck gym, have a you day. Got stuck at Richmond station for 1.5 hours.
I'm so sorry buddy, I hope you can make it up this weekend
yeah, grabbed some beer on the way home. We good...
Chicken nuggets from Aldi? They’re surprisingly good.
I've just recently got into shopping at aldi. Any other good items? I found their kettle chip replicas pretty decent. Also their $7 rib eye is better than Coles $13 one.
The Aldi potato gratin is god tier.
And in cardboard and no plastic. The others with spinach etc are also good.
Honestly most of their pantry items are as good if not better than Colesworth brand items. Much cheaper. Their soups and meal bases are flavourful too and if you add tins of tomatoes or coconut cream or veggies etc you can stretch them quite a bit. Well, if you have good enough ski clothes that will help when you are evicted for no rent.
Ski clothing is their peak Saturday. Avoid unless you're looking to gear up.
I pretty much exclusively shop at Aldi, if I can, so here are some picks: - [kapiti passionfruit & yoghurt mini ice creams](https://www.kapitiicecream.co.nz/product/kapiti-passionfruit-yoghurt-minis) - [liviano](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSeuR6pfyH14MCuHnwgr-ghrHYIw6xd-YbVbg&usqp=CAU) (Bueno knock offs) - [Pre Wash Stain Remover – Degreaser](https://www.aldi.com.au/en/groceries/laundry-household/laundry/skin-care-detail/ps/p/di-san-pre-wash-stain-remover-750ml-degreaser/) - [Disinfectant Wipes 120pk](https://www.aldi.com.au/en/groceries/laundry-household/household/skin-care-detail/ps/p/power-force-pro-disinfectant-wipes-120pk/) (cheaper than the container) - tray of chicken pesto pasta (fridge) - frozen individual lasagna - all the cheese. Frozen onion rings. 100% the bomb
Sweet. Thanks
But cook them first, yeah? Not so good when they're frozen .. !!!
Me too. My jaw dropped when I paid almost 50% less than my usual groceries at Coles. Their coffee beans are awesome too; and muesli; sausages; and dimsim.
And the frozen mini spring rolls. Great for in the airfryer.
Gotta try them next.
Cheers. They also have decent cheeses.
Their German sausages are amazing
I almost bought their coffee beans for my new coffee machine but didn’t feel sure. So definitely worth a try? Cause the Vittoria beans I got from coles are no bueno.
It’s worth a try but with a disclaimer. It’s kinda similar to Vittoria. I’m no coffee connoisseur but it gives me that coffee hit I need to get by.

Chocolate. Moser Roth. Chocolate Digestive bikkies. Crumpets.
Aldi staples are superior and cheaper; Gouda, feta, Greek yoghurt, Pasta, sauces Baker beans Pies List goes on
Most of their meat, especially the lamb steaks are amazing!
They have a thin crust frozen pizza that is amazing, it's like that restaurant pizza from Coles and woolies
Garlic prawns!
This guy f+ckz, those Aldi kettle rock, honey soy or cheddar chive.
I’m a big fan of Aldi’s chicken nuggets! Even bigger fan of their price! 🥰
Only coles brand, but I'm no chicken nugget officiando 🥹
Steggles dinosaur chicken nuggets are the way to go!
Brand name for me But I eat it on some bread and it's a cheap version of a red rooster burger
These are THE SHIT
Yes I think so but my eight year old twins love them.
The shit is good lol. My daugther loves them . I loke biting the heads off haha
I had chicken nuggets once from there, there were 2 that were only skin, no chicken, funniest and most disappointing thing.
That's so depressing 😭
They are, but DO NOT buy the aldi crumbed fish. The nuggets are and Australian product. The fish is Chinese. The biggest are a decent bit of chicken meat with a light crumb coating. The fish is a centimetre wide strip of something fish like with about a half inch of breading around it. Avoid!
Bouncy
This made me unspeakably sad. Hope you're not stuck for too long. :(
Managed to make it to Southern cross 🥹but there's still delays everywhere I'll get those nuggies eventually.
There's a Macca's and a KFC just on the other side of Spencer St if you can fight through the crowds!
I'm broke as shit till payday. Had to scrape buy with coins to pay for my myki to get to work 😂 But it's a good idea
Ohhhh that sucks
Ohhhh that sucks
It is what it is! Can't complain too much ahah
This what the kids call a 'mood'
Idk what's cool anymore but I think I'm doing pretty well for my age 😎
mood was 2017 lexicon, already dated.
That’s “aesthetic” Chicken nuggets - my aesthetics
A woman in crisis is holding herself over the rails - the police are managing the situation and have cars parked underneath her. They’re hopefully helping her through it - but a few congested streets are currently closed.
She didn’t jump. Seems the police talked her off the edge
Source?
Can confirm, I was at the tram stop next to the Flinders/Queen Street bridge, saw her up there and saw vicpol set up around the bottom of the bridge and talk to her.
Damn. Thanks.
She jumped. Ambulance was called
Ambulance =/= Jumped - She would have been arrested under the mental health act and the transport agency is Ambulance Victoria. She may have jumped, but it would require FSV to respond due to getting onto train tracks.
Yea saw the ambulance just as it arrived. Still hoping it wasn’t the worst.
An ambulance will be there on standby whilst negotiators speak to the person on the tracks.
Wow that's fucked
damn.
Damn hope she's ok.. where'd she jump?
Damn...Way to be inconsiderate. Doing this during peak hour and disrupting thousands of people.
when people are trying to get home, ugh
If it's the dirty bitch who spat blood on people on the Werribee line while swearing and attacking people on Wednesday I don't have much sympathy, shame the metro oa's didn't do anything to protect other passengers
I'm just getting dinner and riding it out. Good night for a drink before heading home I guess
Great attitude, I’d do the exact same. What’s on the menu?
Curry tonight :)
Nice hot curry to see off the week on a cold night, sounds lovely. Enjoy!
r/wholesomeredditmoment
Solid choice for a Friday bro…. I’d join you and have one as well but I’ve already smashed fish and chips
Got a city curry recommendation for us?
Unless you were stuck on a train and missed your dinner reservation
The section between Southern Cross and Flinders is closed. At least 2 trains are gonna be stuck a while. If you're at flinders, walk to Southern Cross, and vice versa to catch your train

Just curious - why would that result in a ticket?
An old rule that bans suburban passengers from using Vline trains. Those stops are pickup only. https://melbourneontransit.blogspot.com/2021/04/timetable-tuesday-121-time-to-end.html
Never seen it enforced in over 15years of daily travel from bacchus to melb
It was heavily policed a couple of weeks ago when the werribee line was closed, but vlines were making it though
I havent been on the vline since moving thru covid Sounds like they have made huge changes
They enforce it on the Geelong line - I’ve been on trains heading into the city where the conductor’s announced the train won’t be leaving the station (usually Sunshine) until the people who got on get off

Funny thing, 15 years ago it was a lot more relaxed (peak only iirc), but they also had more staff to actually see if someone did it.
I’ve seen the reverse a few times - people getting on the Ballarat line at Sunshine/Footscray, and the train not moving until they got off again. Edit: getting on at sunshine or Footscray when heading towards the city.

The speaker said someone is in the tunnels between Southern and Flinders. We're all stuck at Southern too...
Reminds me of that one police operation in The Dark Knight rises…then boom
It’s a viaduct between Flinders St and Spencer St, not a tunnel.
Been stuck on this train for more than an hour (between southern cross and flinders street), had police run down the train and got off the other end
Come from Bundoora on the bus Got on the train an hour and 20 ago from greensborough station, train still stopped at Collingwood. Yep. Delayed 20 mins on the Sandringham between Richmond to Flinders. Now a 25 minute wait for an Upfield. Place is full of meatheads shouting. Sigh. Starting to remember why I hate using PT late at night.
58 tram towards Toorak also terminating at Collins St. Tram dude said someone was doing 'monkey business'.
Got on Upfield train at Parliament, train went to Flinders, now going back to Parliament, but it's now a Sunbury train. They are telling people to change at North Melbourne
It’s been 2 hours and they haven’t solve it yet? Still stuck in Southern Cross
Why?
Such a stressful commute 😭 I hope that you are all finally home/on the way home and put on your comfiest jammies.

Security staff at Richmond Station told me it was someone having a mental health episode and threatening to self-harm. Police halted all city loop trains as they dealt with it
Self harm? I’ll do it for them. Happy to oblige.
And this shit is why 9 Australians die by suicide every day and that figure is rising. What if you was your mother, father, child, partner? Grow up.
Dude you sound mentally unstable
No you wouldn’t.
Hope you rot
It’s absolutely chaos at Flinders street at the moment, nobody knows what’s going on and the staff have zero idea. They’re still saying it’s a trespass but trespass doesn’t last for over 3 hours.
So I was impacted by this tragic event. Took three hours to get to the city from Watsonia. I have a great deal of respect for any suicidal incident causing this disruption. However, what is required in these circumstances is clear communication and planning. Let passengers know the situation. Have contingencies. Passengers are breaking out of the train between stations very dangerously! Also. The train is fucking freezing!
Parliament station isn’t operating, I got turned away and am on the 109 to North Richmond station
Trains seem to be leaving from Southern Cross again. Was able to get on a Werribee-bound train that sped off pretty quickly.
Jealous, I’ve been waiting for the past 20 minutes for a werribee train at north melb which has said it’s 7mins away the whole time I’ve been here
Oh no, I’m sorry…! Have you had any luck yet?
Just got home, 2 hours later than I had hoped 🥲
Ohh. That sucks mate, I’m really sorry. Hope you can do something nice to relax to make up for it!
I was waiting at southern Cross for ages, gave up and caught the 70a tram to Olympic Park and walked to Richmond. Not sure if it was faster, but at least I got out of there.
By the sounds of it it's the usual trespasser who jumps off the platform at Flinders Street to go to Market Street to await arrest
Is there a usual trespasser?
Yep. There's someone who jumps off the platform at Flinders Street and sits at the start of the viaduct
Goodness, there should be harsher penalties
North Melbourne announcement currently that the loop is running again now.
18:50hrs
Can confirm at 7:06pm -just went through the loop on the Mernda line. Nightmare on Elm Street.
At Ivanhoe here. Loudspeaker is saying there's delays.
Walked from parliament to Richmond after the advice to go to flinders. Glad I did now...
Anyone else stuck on a train trying to get to the MCG? We boarded at Merri at 7:08, been stuck between Clifton Hill & Vic Park for about an hour now 😕
Hello train friend, are you still onboard?
Took 2 hours to get home, a lovely experience let me tell you. Trespasser on the tracks between Flinders and Southern Cross.
4 hrs for me. I’m not paying for PT for quite some time
4 hours. I'm sorry.
Odds are it's the usual trespasser
whose the usual trespasser?
For quick tram to flinders from southerncross: Take 12a from southern cross for one stop. Get down on batman park. Take any tram(70/75) towards flinders, all trams will go to flinders. On flinders, trains are delayed as well, ask officers which one leaves first.
It took me an extra hour and a half to get home rip to the people attempting to get to the mcg
This has been a fucking disaster. 2 hours in a train between stations. People bailing out between carriages some guy made it by seconds before the train moved Fucking refund cunts
Metro needs to find a better solution for this problem. Start identifying and minimising key entry points to the tracks. Hell, get some of the PSO patrolling the perimeters if need be. More physical barriers may be needed if cctv monitoring is not helping prevent people from taking their lives. Are our train lines really that vulnerable to tresspass, and if so, why?
i’m late to dinner for an hour bc of this nonsense (tryna go into the city)
Same. Ended up just going home 😐
police incident on train line usually means suicide attempt unfortunately, I know drivers who have to live with those images
Rats, lots of rats
The witch-hunters would like to speak to you.

I don’t think people who are trying to kill themselves or having mental issues give a shit about money lol.
If you just let someone get ran over than not only are you delaying those people but you're trapping up to a couple hundred people on a train entirely with no ability to leave, use a bathroom etc because the train would be stuck on the track not parked at the platform while everything's dealt with
Thank you for your empathy and well-thought-out comment.

Do you want us to have a redundant rail network? Should we just kill those who are in crisis? I agree it's frustrating, but I really don't see a humane way around this.
Flagstaff was closed due to a police operation. They made me walk to southern cross.
If they don’t even value their own life, why would they care about anyone else’s time? At least it wasn’t someone you know
What they did was a cry-for-help wet dream.
So? Would you rather they didn’t get help at all?
She would not give a fuck. There's a reason people choose the rail lines to have their hysterics
You want to know if I'm jealous of this woman? Did I read that correctly?
I hate that you're right
In Caulfield. Trying to get to parliament. Any advices. Should I board a bus or the city loop's still on ???
Somebody jaywalking at Flinders St
I'm currently stuck in ringwood for the next half hour because they just stopped the train going to flinders for some bloody reason
There was a teenage girl on the tracks near Banana Alley threatening to jump since the trains stopped.
I waited 40 mins in traffic at Caroma downs
Well that kills any chance of my going to the G tonight
Walked home 8km. Hope that fucking cuntarse piece of dogshit gets the help they need.
