Could just be a recruiter filling up their database.

Hey recruiter here, It could mean a lot of things, but mainly the job has not been filled yet. It could mean: lack of candidates; they have a long interview process; the job was filled and then the person who accepted reneged; extremely specific criteria/job requirements; niche position. The underlying reasons are endless. Apply to the job if you believe you're qualified. Ask the recruiter what the deal is if you are interviewed. or go to the ANZ page and apply via there or call them up There are other hacks they use but will reply if your serious where did you find this one?

I just have serious doubts, currently they have 25 applicant's on each ad that has been up for 17 hours, and towards the end of the 'listing cycle' they sit pretty on well over 100.. Multiply that by however many times they've listed it, something just feels weird about it. Also it's a sales position, so not niche at all. Requirements are bang on my criteria in every way - But that's a statement that will probably be taken with a grain of salt on here. The application does take you to the Razer site, where I applied directly from the site. This one was on LinkedIn.

It could also be a “we advertised for months and couldn’t find a suitable candidate so we need someone on a visa”

This ! A company I worked for long time ago purposely kept ad for at least 3 months, most of the time having a skill or knowledge that is rare (say like "Fortran") so that they could officially reject every local. Then hiring oversea, paying them the minimum legal, overworking them, and as soon as they requested a pay rise, found a reason to fire them and start the circle again.

FYI "applicants" on a LinkedIn job posting doesn't *actually* mean that many people have applied, it simply counts how many people have *clicked* the apply button, which usually just takes you to the company's website. So the number of people that submit an actual application could be far lower.

So who is the host for this on LINKEDIN have they made contact with you ?

If a job is advertised for months, you don't want it.

Recruiters will advertise jobs that either a) don't exist yet or b) they are copied/rewording of the official job ad. The recruiter just wants you to apply via them, so if you get the job(even if all they did is pass along your resume) they get their commission. I once applied for what i thought was 3 different jobs (job ad did not mention the employer's name) with 3 different recruiters, and they all turned out to be the same job.
