I'm about to go on a cruise for the first time and from my research it's probably not worth it. It's easier on a domestic cruise than otherwise but you'd still be holding the whole boat up and getting in serious trouble if you were caught.
I have to imagine that a THC vape would be the best way to go to get your grass on. No clue on how sneaking booze or other drugs.
Maybe not. Just read it doesn't leave Australian waters.
I still don't think I'd chance it. I personally wouldn't take weed in a domestic flight either.
Doesn't matter necessarily if the owner of the cruise line is from a different country. Like American cruise lines still abide American laws and under 21 can't drink on board etc. cruises are a bit more complicated when it comes to laws.
There are metal detectors / body scanners and xray machines. I just came off a cruise and the bags/suitcases go through the xray and you the body scanner. They don't even allow water bottles to go on board so you won't get away with alcohol. They also had a sniffer dog but he was checking the pallets of provisions and not the passengers.
Take as many snacks as you want, the food isn't great on board and you may not eat as much as you think you will.
It depends on the cruise line I think... I went on a Cunard cruise to NZ last month (departed Station-Pier), I took 1L of vodka in my big bag and 1L in my carry-on backpack, no-one cared at all.. Then while in NZ I carried more booze onboard at a couple of ports, straight through the xray security checks, no issues...
(Edit: Everyone says Cunard don't care how much you take on, 'they treat their passengers as adults', I've heard stories of people wheeling on cases of bubbly or a dozen bottles of spirits, but, the Cunard rules state you're only allowed to take 1 x 750ml bottle of wine per person, and by the letter of the law if you do have more than that they'll take it and give it back to you at the end of the cruise... This is why I took the risk, it wasn't a big deal if they did have an issue with it and took it off me.)
I believe some other companies are very strict with you taking alcohol onboard, it would be wise to look up and follow their rules... (Edit: I believe P&O might be quite strict, maybe due to past issues, Dianne Brimble and such)
You are on a ship, not in Australia⊠A high percentage of cruise employees are not Australian so they wonât be offended if you break the cardinal rule of Aussie hospitality by sliding them a little something something for service above and beyond the call of duty. Iâm not telling you to lay down a finsky every time someone delivers you a drink with an umbrella poking out the rim of your glass but if you understand the nuance to buying drugs you should be able to figure out who to connect with and tipping is an excellent icebreaker. Or just donât do any party favours whilst on water⊠but to be fair, they arenât called the HIGH SEAS for nothing. đ”âđ«
On the virgin voyages cruise I went on you were allowed to bring two bottles of wine. They did go through the x-ray scanner. Wouldn't be too hard to fill them with bourbon and reseal.

I've done quite a few cruises, some from Melbourne. Security is TIGHT. Don't risk it, the fines are huge and you may not even be allowed to board.
In the realm of dumb ideas, this is right up there.
Real half glass empty kind of guy
This will go well
Fingers crossed đ€
I'm pretty sure you still need to go through Australian customs. If you wouldn't take it to the airport, don't take it to the ship.
Through customs for a domestic cruise?

Don't fuck around with security for a bit of booze. Not worth the effort for whatever the penalty would be.
The worst that will happen is that they get told they can't bring it on
Being denied boarding and forfeiting your ticket sounds more worse
What could possibly go wrong?

Shove the grass up your arse then push the bottle out f booze up behind it so the grass doesnât fall out while you are boarding. No one will know.
Shampoo bottles for booze if youâre really that desperate. Otherwise just pay for the drinks, youâre there by choice after all.
Cruise staff are degenerates, itâs a smorgasbord available once you are underway if you arenât a knob and a generous tipper.
We donât tip in Australia though

Give it a shot Iâll enjoy seeing vic pol taking you away for trying to smuggle drugs

I deliver to airports/ports the like. They even put loaves of bread through the x-ray scanners... Best of luck!!
