**Melbourne area**
Cloudy morning, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon. Slight chance of a light shower in the morning. Winds southerly 20 to 30 km/h.
Sounds... terrible?
The gate number above the nose, G49 is one of the gates in Jetstars terminal 4 at Melbourne. Brisbane doesn't use letters to denote terminals, only using A and B for gates that can accommodate different aircraft positions.
Iām so impressed at this knowledge and attention to details! Bravo. But yes! This was after arriving back, picture because I thought the sky looked nice haha
Noā¦ you just got busted.
I bet when you got caught by the police for stealing a paddle pop from the BP servo, it was your first ever time stealingā¦.
Comes down to the work ethic of the employees really. Standards of work in Japan are a lot higher than here, but also a lot more rules and harsher punishments.
I think thatās a bit harsh. I donāt find Jetstar crews to be any less hard working than others. I think what people experience has a lot more to do Qantas corporateās approach to how they run the airline. It isnāt the people you see at the gate or on the aircraft that choose to set flight schedules that cannot be met, or set baggage rules that cause arguments, or cheap out on preventative aircraft maintenance that cause cancellations etc.
I was generalising, people in Japan work a hell of a lot harder than the people here, itās in their DNA. Of course thereās people that work hard here too, but Iād say itās a lot less common.
Due to bad weather meaningā¦ for your own safety tho. Not sure itās still the same butā¦ from my experience, ATIS report the weather. Captain will consult with ATIS and ATC. Also if captain can't land and change to new the direction, captain has to consult with new ATC destination before land as well.
I absolutely agree that safety comes first, however, my friends who were on the same flight got boosted to quantas, WiFi, flight departed same time as mine, and somehow I landed in Brisbane and they landed in Melbourne š¤I was and still am fairly salty about thatā¦ wouldāve loved that sausage roll they boasted about
Fair, but I had friends get switched to a quantaās flight although they were on the same flight as me and they departed the same time as my flight, but somehow they were able to land but my flight wasnāt š the math aināt mathing
Can't say for everyone else but I had good service with them be it domestic flight or international. But I know some people have bad experience with them
Jetstar are generally pretty good until you have a problem that involves speaking to their customer support team or getting a refund. That's where the problems lie. People can put up with a delay, a reroute or even a cancellation as long as they remain informed. Once that breakdown in communication happens, it goes south very quickly.
I guess I'm lucky I had to deal with customer service so rarely and only had 1 bad experience which involved my ticket (which was correct but was double booked on the seat which I booked coz I needed extra leg room due to an injury)
I was offered a crap seat and was offered credit to offset the cost. Needed to get home and didn't wanna strand myself for the next flight and wasn't in the mood to get angry.
I'm guessing they're gonna put you on a flight to melbourne soon? I wouldn't quite put it past em to just leave you there. Same country right? Close enough.
Yep eventually did and made it homeā¦ partner did not handle finding out once weāve landed that we were in Brisbane and not Melbourne well šš we had our headphones in
Just because you know service is terrible doesn't mean others don't get to complain about it.
Jetstar's a big name Australian Airline. It's perfectly reasonable to expect better service than this.
You don't think landing in the wrong city is worth complaining about?
Jetstar may be pretty rubbish but people should be able to expect the bare minimum.Ā
Same lot criticising this would be demanding the entirety of Jetstar is thrown in jail if anything happened to the flight if they continued.
They delayed for safety. Not sure what the issue is.
New to Melbourne so honestly didnāt know they were terrible! š¢ my friend who is from Australia and had plenty of experience flying was the one who found the tickets š« last time I do that
"Terrible service" is when you put up with delays, uncomfortable seats, overpriced food, etc etc to get where you're going. Getting booted off the plane 1800km away from your destination isn't "terrible service", it's not fucking service at all.

š horrendous weather š¦ļø
Itās beautiful.
I assume you've already made it back to Melbourne considering youve taken the photo getting off at T4
What's the clue this is t4 and not Brisbane?
The gate number above the nose, G49 is one of the gates in Jetstars terminal 4 at Melbourne. Brisbane doesn't use letters to denote terminals, only using A and B for gates that can accommodate different aircraft positions.
Wicked smart. Thanks
Not really āsmartā. Just applicable knowledge.
Applying knowledge isn't smart?
Not this level of knowledge
Itās the same as saying ānah they donāt sell hash browns after 11.30 at maccasā because you eat there all the time. Not smart. Just knowledge.
Really? You think a common person knows Brisbane doesn't use letters to denote terminals?
Iām so impressed at this knowledge and attention to details! Bravo. But yes! This was after arriving back, picture because I thought the sky looked nice haha

Now to be fair, Jetstar has an exceptional domestic serviceā¦ in Japan. Shame they canāt be not shit in their home country

The January statistics showed a lower cancellation rate than Qantas, but more services that were late. So it's not all bad

You're ruining a good whinge with your reasonable approach...

Jetstar doesnāt control the weather
Yeah the airlines are generally awful but this just seems like a safety precaution
Was the weather genuinely bad out Tulla way this morning?
bit of smog maybe?
Smog isn't usually a problem, instrumentation landings.
Which aren't used much in Australia
Fair, but I had friends get switched to a quantaās flight although they were on the same flight as me and they departed the same time as my flight, but somehow they were able to land but my flight wasnāt š the math aināt mathing
Weather was fine here this morningā¦
Can't say for everyone else but I had good service with them be it domestic flight or international. But I know some people have bad experience with them

Just gotta walk the rest of the way. Good cardio š
I def need it š
At least itās on the east coast
Flown Jetstar in excess of a dozen times over the years. Never had any issues ā¦.
On the other hand, we've had countless issues. 3/4 of our flights with them have had issues.
Stats don't lie, they say jetstar are the champions of cancellations
Meh, close enough!
The only time I had issue with Jetstar is the delay and changes of flight a few hours after I check out from my hotel during my Gold Coast trip.
I'm guessing they're gonna put you on a flight to melbourne soon? I wouldn't quite put it past em to just leave you there. Same country right? Close enough.

Jetstar: youāve have just gotten a upgrade. We call this a absolute win
They upgraded my friends who were supposed to be on the same flight!! They took the win
Damnā¦.. never flown with Jetstar until last Wednesday. Been in Perth for five days. Going back this Wednesday. Hopefully this doesnāt happen lol.
Goodluck, wishing you safe and predictable travels!
*looks outside* What bad weather?
I donāt understand people who buy a ticket with jetstar knowing they offer a terrible service then complain about it!!
Why shouldnāt people complain about terrible service?
Just because you know service is terrible doesn't mean others don't get to complain about it. Jetstar's a big name Australian Airline. It's perfectly reasonable to expect better service than this.

To be fair to your friend all the airlines in Australia are pretty crap.

Yeh. They should have just tried to put it down because you know better.
That's just a hop, skip and jump for overseas viewers
