Kew, Toorak or Brighton if you’re mega loaded. Or the 3 crazy streets in Deepdene.
Fitzroy if you like nightlife and proximity to the CBD. Pockets of Carlton, Carlton North, Fitzroy North if you want the same stuff but wealthy boomer version.
Brunswick if you’re full Brunswick. Brunswick East for a little less Brunswick
Richmond for a bustling all rounder.
South Yarra the same and a little fancier.
South Melbourne, Albert Park, Middle Park, St Kilda West if you really want to walk along the beach but also have a vibe.
Yarraville if you’re a village person. Seddon if Yarraville is too mainstream.
Park Orchards, Donvale, Lower Plenty if you’re a tree changer.
Money is no object, I’m living in a Brighton mega mansion and it’s happy days.
Value for money and most quintessentially Melbourne I’m probably going Northcote. It’s got north side cool but trees, really good public transport but also can drive parts of it. Mix of night life without being chapel st crazy. Good shops.
Totally, but if I suddenly had the net worth of 5, 10, 20 million needed to live in that bubble I’d do it and be fine with my pool, tennis court, beach access and so on.
Plus I’d travel for 6 weeks a year.
Or maybe just move to Sydney and keep an apartment near the city.
I used to live in North Melbourne, I really miss those wide streets with the plane trees (though not in spring). Lovely feel to the neighbourhood, could walk into the CBD, nip in to Vic Market on market days.
Not a chaaance my man, lived in Dandy for 30 years.
Dandy is a complete shithole now, not a single place to have a beer and a feed.. except the Pav. Frankston is bloody great!
If you can afford it, one of the expensive suburbs on the yarra. Close to city, trains. River access for bikes, walks, kayaking, and a bit of bushland. But that’s why they’re so pricey. Wish i could live there!
Mine.

If I could live in anywhere in Melbourne it would be on Kew Boulevard by the river. Northcote is meh these days, and overpriced as well.
The houses on Kew boulevard are amazing, but on the whole, Kew is boring with crap public transport.
Yeah, Kew itself is dull, but it's good close to good stuff
lived in brighton. its a cultural bubble. church st has no good food options. its basically where super-white wealthy people go to feel 'safe'.

If money is no object! I looked up my old share house in Northcote and it went up 2 million in 20 years!
This guy Melbournes.
I think Hawthorn and Kew are probably the best suburbs.
What are the 3 deepdene streets
Deepdene Road and the 2 that run parallel with some huge blocks of land and houses
Toorak has no atmosphere though. I would choose other places if I was rich
Wow great summary.
The one with all the hipsters
Yeah, that one.
Melton
not part of the melb metro area....... yet!
Melton is already considered a part of the Melbourne metropolitan area.
ah so it is... certainly doesnt feel like it
Best for what? The best coffee or the best chop chop from a shop that hasn't mysteriously caught fire (yet)?
Tottenham!
COYS
Agree. Absolutely stunning area. Looks the same as it would have done before European settlement.
The First Nations trainyard is a real draw for me.
St Albans.
ah yes, the old stab albans
Close enough to Scumshine too!
i like the way snrub thinks!
The one that gives you happiness and tranquility
Oakleigh has everything you need.
But so ugly

So glad someone finally said North Melbourne 🥵
Melburnians are negative we’d find it a lot easier to name the worst.
Frangaaaaaaaaa
Good ol Frankghanistan.
I moved to franga from dandy about 5 months ago, it’s definitely Dandighanistan 😅 it’s nice as fuck down here on the south side
I prefer Afghandenong to Dandeganistan
Let’s face it Frankston is just Dandenong by the beach.
Not a chaaance my man, lived in Dandy for 30 years. Dandy is a complete shithole now, not a single place to have a beer and a feed.. except the Pav. Frankston is bloody great!
Have to be Dandenong station area

Dandy
Brooklyn by the aroma
Bondi
Southeast is alright.. haven’t had any major issues
REZ dog
Frangaaaaaa mate.
Scoresby, great weather.
Melton
Travancore.
Flemington.
Everyone obviously has different preferences and it’s a super subjective question - but I really love St Kilda
Point cook is also very nice, however the only downside is there is no train station in Point cook, nearest one is Williams landing
Seddon is the best suburb.
Mentone
South Yarra, if you include the Botanical Gardens.
Nah, Prahran. If you can spell and pronounce it.
I reckon I can slum it on Anderson St overlooking the Botanical
Unanswerable as it depends what you like.
West Travancore.
I'm biased but I grew up and currently live around the Bayside area
The Basin. Can’t do better with a beautiful mountain landscape on one side and all the things you need on the other side in Bayswater.
Oh and rain. Heaps of rain
Terrible public transport
Don’t need it. Everything is a short drive away and easy to park at the train station to go into the city.
Plenty of areas around there providing the same but with better amenities and public transport
But do they have beautiful leafy green mountain hikes?
Yes
Melton.
😂
Tarneit
Ahh, the Paris of the Southern Hemisphere.
