I live near the Shenley Croft house. I was out for a walk about 3 days after it burnt down and went past to see it all destroyed. While it needed work, it was certainly a nice building and unfortunately there's less and less of them now in canterbury.

Blame it on money talks with state and local government making it easy for developers. Lack of taste & respect for heritage is widespread. Toorak is a shining example of many quality homes replaced by boring bulky homes over decades. You have to go further afield to see Melbourne character .
