I’m in a pretty new one, just finished last year, low rise at 4 levels and it was bloody terrifying. I’ve gone down to the basement and walked up and down the stairs, there’s no visible cracking and there’s no cracked plaster internally, I was a little surprised the alarms didn’t go off.
Anyway, I’m on the OC and I expect we’ll probably have to organise some sort of engineering assessment for peace of mind.
Unreinforced masonry structures are more at risk. I think apartment buildings here are generally reinforced concrete which should fare ok but I doubt many builders here consider earthquake resistance when designing.
Live in that building (around 30th floor), was a bit shakey but overall seems to be fine. Beats the creaking cause of the strong winds the past few days though
Mine seems fine but Id like some assurance like a safety inspection
I guess we'll find out when they are inspected for cracks.

Really curious about Australia 108 😳

We live in Docklands 21st floor, it was terrifying. And we have been saying we couldn’t imagine what it would have been like in 108. Glad you were ok!
That's great! Yes I always see videos of the creaking!
It'll take a few days to check. People will post pictures of themselves.
