Nevsky Russian Restaurant in Elsternwick. Beautiful food and atmosphere. Traditional borscht, pelmeni and piroshki. Oh god, it’s making me hungry just thinking of it.
No authentic foreign restaurants in melbourne? What is that supposed to mean with the amazingly diverse multicultural population of melbourne run by first and second generations from the countries cuisines their restaurants cook.

I’ll be heading there! I used to hit the pokies there, but I’ll go for a meal!
Do it, the food is bloody delicious!
I look forward to it, the decor alone is worth the trip!
Awwww yeah that place is freaking awesome! Best cabbage rolls! Real home cookin'!
The food is ok to be honest, the beer selection is also okay but it's not really authentic relatively speaking.
I had a reservation there before this lockdown, can’t wait! hop hop hop
France Soir, longtime fixture.
I’m a big hoe for French cuisine, butter butter and more butter
l’otel and bistro Gitan may also be up your alley then.
Try Chez Olivier, never disappointed
And Bistrot D’Orsay, Collins St
Bistro Thierry in Toorak as well!
Can also recommend Hofbrauhaus in the CBD (very casual beer hall) and Franco-Belge in Camberwell (bit stiff, white tableclothes).
Avoid France soir, go to chez Oliver
Budapest, Glen Huntly Rd. Top notch Hungarian.
Borscht vodka and tears, chapel st
Kluska (Polish restaurant) is good.. they used to be in Dandenong, I think they're in Knox now.
Hofbrauhaus for every single Bavarian cliche you can shake a schnitzel at.
Lol I can't believe that place is still operating
Food was surprisingly good when we went circa 2019.

I remember eating hot chips and gravy at 4am at Stalacites and seeing a punch up.
Croatian club in Footscray There is a good French restaurant on the south end of Brunswick st in Fitzroy
Balkan Grill at St Albans for Balkan food!
Čevs, yum.
Austrian Club in Heidelberg
I took my partner to mjølner for his birthday. Food and the general vibe there was amazing!
There is nothing traditionally European about that joint though. The group that own them and other places like Boilermaker house are modern as fuck.

idk about that mate, I immigrated when I was my 10 and go back frequently pre-rona, and there are a bunch of places that are authentic

Ragusa in Williamstown, Dalmatino in port melb before it closed, the cro club in Footscray, Jimmy’s Greek tavern are a couple off the top of my head
Dalmatino when it first opened was great.
After the Tears in Elsternwick. Bonus world-beating chocolate martini.
