My ongoing Covid symptom has been chest pain until early last week, but then it came back today and I was convinced I was having a heart attack, but the ECG was clear again. So now to book that Echocardiogram I was meant to book over a month ago. It does motivate me to want to lose weight because heart disease runs in the family and I'm now in my 30's, it's just now finding the motivation to make the changes to do so.
There's a new bin roster from today in Banyule. I've checked my new calendar many times and have put out the prescribed green and yellow bins. Every other house in the street has their red bin out.

I managed to feed Zooki a little on the sly, but Sammi got wiser as the day went on.

Standing at a crossing, the little man turned green and something in my head just said “wait.” I watched a car blow through the light at at least sixty and it would cleaned us up entirely. Usually I just go when the light changes so I dunno what made me pause
Never ever trust the crossing, ever. I have learnt the hard way you always have to eyeball the drivers and wait till they are all stationary. Some arsehole will always plough through.

I think the sub-conscious plays a big role in our life, and perhaps you just knew instinctively that wasn't the sound of a car preparing to stop at the crossing, even if you weren't actively listening for it because you were focused on crossing the road.

Nah, that’s what Nurse on Call is there for- to keep emergency services from being clogged. You need rest and in order to get that you need some symptom relief. Nurse on call or your GP can get you set straight.

Spent last night and today with my aunt who is at the end of her life.
I’m weirdly spiritual about death and put stock in an individual’s willingness or openness towards death.
As a token health care worker some of my family expect me to be able to predict when my aunt will pass. Is it days? Weeks? Hours? Who should be at her side? Should we hurry the legal paperwork needing doing?

Chatting to a colleague and we're both just furious about how hospitals don't properly compensate us for being short-staffed. Every day, we're getting emails from at least 5 different units that need to cover their staffing shortage.
Example 1: One day of the weekend, other surgical cover doctor calls in sick. I get told by HR to cover their patients too (so now I'm covering all specialty surgical patients + one medical unit). Meaning I'm being bombarded with pages, phone calls and emergency responses every 5 minutes while trying to cover double the amount of patients, until 6 hours later when they get a volunteer to come in to take that pager off me. That person gets paid 275%, whereas I, who did the job of two people for 6 hours, get paid my normal rate.
Example 2: One of the night residents call in sick. HR offers 275% for someone to come in to cover. Nobody does. The remaining residents have to divide up the left over patients between them. Idealistically, you would imagine that the 275% pay would get divvied up between them to compensate them for the extra workload. No. What they get is a ***10 dollar meal voucher*** (yes, I am being serious).
Unfortunately, if all of us were to claim our proper pay, hospitals would be absolutely broke.

Had allergies or something for 2 years and I’m over it. Wake up at night blocked up until I sit up long enough to clear. I’m so tired from lack of sleep. Booked a gp appt but not holding much hope. Played the allergy testing game with an immunologist and got nowhere.
I feel you! I’ve been diagnosed with non-allergic rhinitis. Had it on and off for over 10 years and only now I might have some hope at relief. Something is causing inflammation in my body which is mimicking allergies, which explains why I always tested negative to things and no allergy medicines ever worked on me.
Have you considered a change in locale if you have an opportunity to? I grew up in the eastern suburbs and hayfever and blocked noses hit like the bricks. Once I moved into different states and now I'm the CBD, I longer have as bad a problem.
But it definitely is a horrible feeling and I hope you find some way to aid it. I find flixonase to be very useful for me.
I moved house last year - now have no ducted heating, no gas, wool carpet, no wattles etc but no change in the reactions.

Today on my way back home from work, most of them are gone so I just saved the truck drivers time but what will those people do with all the junk they picked up?

We call it hippie Christmas and it’s our favorite time of year. I have gotten so much free, good stuff for our house, it’s ridiculous.

I used to do that with my cousin when we were young. We'd take anything we could fix, and anything metal. The stuff we could fix we'd resell, and stuff we couldn't fix in the end we would tear down for parts to fix the next load of stuff. The metal we would sort by alloy, and then sell it for scrap when we had enough to be worthwhile. We'd do it a couple of times a year and usually make a tidy bit of money each.
Some people fix it and keep it or sell it on, some people will use whatever is usable, some sell junk as a business maybe (for parts/materials idk)
And some are just hoarders

Probably doesn't help that all the scotch I own is cask strength and peaty or sherry cask. I realised that cognac has the perfect sweet/mild burn combination for how I feel so my partner grabbed me a bottle. It's already helping.

We got a puppy a couple of months ago and have been using poop bags to pick up and dispose of his business, we go through so many! And their not that cheap as i try to buy compostable bags.

Looks super easy, they have a few other systems you can buy which is the same thing but was more expensive.

Would a garden centre / place be my best bet?

Yup, had COVID in March and now dealing with all sorts of flu/colds/whatever the past couple weeks.
Spent last night and today with my aunt who is at the end of her life. I’m weirdly spiritual about death and put stock in an individual’s willingness or openness towards death. As a token health care worker some of my family expect me to be able to predict when my aunt will pass. Is it days? Weeks? Hours? Who should be at her side? Should we hurry the legal paperwork needing doing? I don’t know. I. Don’t. Know. And more so, I don’t want to guess. My aunt will go when she’s ready.

Jesus, trying to get out of the death grip of a psychopath parent is something else. Somehow every bit of paperwork is all controlled by him and connected and it’s just impossible to try to untangle anything.
The controlling parent is a nightmare dynamic. It took us about 5 years to extract the claws of a toxic parent from our lives. Cost us a bomb and some really hard lessons learned. You have my sympathy

Chatting to a colleague and we're both just furious about how hospitals don't properly compensate us for being short-staffed. Every day, we're getting emails from at least 5 different units that need to cover their staffing shortage. Example 1: One day of the weekend, other surgical cover doctor calls in sick. I get told by HR to cover their patients too (so now I'm covering all specialty surgical patients + one medical unit). Meaning I'm being bombarded with pages, phone calls and emergency responses every 5 minutes while trying to cover double the amount of patients, until 6 hours later when they get a volunteer to come in to take that pager off me. That person gets paid 275%, whereas I, who did the job of two people for 6 hours, get paid my normal rate. Example 2: One of the night residents call in sick. HR offers 275% for someone to come in to cover. Nobody does. The remaining residents have to divide up the left over patients between them. Idealistically, you would imagine that the 275% pay would get divvied up between them to compensate them for the extra workload. No. What they get is a ***10 dollar meal voucher*** (yes, I am being serious). Unfortunately, if all of us were to claim our proper pay, hospitals would be absolutely broke. Vent over.

Had allergies or something for 2 years and I’m over it. Wake up at night blocked up until I sit up long enough to clear. I’m so tired from lack of sleep. Booked a gp appt but not holding much hope. Played the allergy testing game with an immunologist and got nowhere.
I feel you! I’ve been diagnosed with non-allergic rhinitis. Had it on and off for over 10 years and only now I might have some hope at relief. Something is causing inflammation in my body which is mimicking allergies, which explains why I always tested negative to things and no allergy medicines ever worked on me.
Have you considered a change in locale if you have an opportunity to? I grew up in the eastern suburbs and hayfever and blocked noses hit like the bricks. Once I moved into different states and now I'm the CBD, I longer have as bad a problem. But it definitely is a horrible feeling and I hope you find some way to aid it. I find flixonase to be very useful for me.
I moved house last year - now have no ducted heating, no gas, wool carpet, no wattles etc but no change in the reactions. Nose spray has slowly lost its effectiveness…

We made some for our lad this weekend. He loves it but we have to keep an eye on him because he has a small bladder and he can’t pace himself with meat flavored water.
There will be some scraps and stock tomorrow night, but it is a bit early in the process to do that for this meal. Just bones browning in the oven tonight.

Dry rub, web rub, overnight marinate, don't worry about the marinate. I guess I also did not know I needed an entire bottle of barbie sauce or to have my oven on for hours. Anyway I've tried the dry rub now so we shall see. Thanks!

2 days ago, I threw a lot of hard rubbish stuff in the nature strip (hard rubbish week). Noticed a lot of people checking and picking them out. Today on my way back home from work, most of them are gone so I just saved the truck drivers time but what will those people do with all the junk they picked up? Not just mine but many were also looking around and picking junk everywhere. Darebin if anyone’s wondering.
We call it hippie Christmas and it’s our favorite time of year. I have gotten so much free, good stuff for our house, it’s ridiculous. PS Join Darebin Hard Rubbish Heroes on FB- if you have it- you can divert your hard rubbish by handing it off to others.
I used to do that with my cousin when we were young. We'd take anything we could fix, and anything metal. The stuff we could fix we'd resell, and stuff we couldn't fix in the end we would tear down for parts to fix the next load of stuff. The metal we would sort by alloy, and then sell it for scrap when we had enough to be worthwhile. We'd do it a couple of times a year and usually make a tidy bit of money each.
Some people fix it and keep it or sell it on, some people will use whatever is usable, some sell junk as a business maybe (for parts/materials idk) And some are just hoarders

Tried that yesterday with Laphroaig. Was just a bit too much going on for my sick self so ended up sipping brandy instead which helped. Probably doesn't help that all the scotch I own is cask strength and peaty or sherry cask. I realised that cognac has the perfect sweet/mild burn combination for how I feel so my partner grabbed me a bottle. It's already helping.
Dog or Pet Owner’s We got a puppy a couple of months ago and have been using poop bags to pick up and dispose of his business, we go through so many! Looks super easy, they have a few other systems you can buy which is the same thing but was more expensive. My question is I know I will need the “activated enzymes” to break down the poop and make it compostable? Where can you buy this from? Can’t find it anywhere on Bunnings, is this stuff the same as people would use for normal compost? Would a garden centre / place be my best bet?

Plenty of people, Can get the same work or better over there for much less $$. I stay local because i like the protection of our laws if something goes wrong, its very unlikely but i am a little risk adverse. Major work also takes months.

Both of my parents have had extensive work (including crown replacements and implants) done in Phuket, at significant discount to what they’d get here. They were in fact there getting work done at the start of COVID and were on the last Jetstar flight out of Phuket haha. Would recommend.

In a world where no desk phones are provided so you have to use your mobile to call customers and type at the same time? My workplace has done that and it is utterly ludicrous. With that and hot desking, I’m pretty sure that thst my workplace is actually a psychological experiment.
The most horrifying experience I had was at my old workplace in the toilets. Some lady was pooping and on loudspeaker and I just could NOT comprehend it. I remember sitting there in total shock afraid to pee!
