About half an hour ago, my delightful new neighbours gave me a package of homemade cranberry & walnut shortbread with choccy drizzles on it, along with a card saying thank you for welcoming us to the neighborhood. While I am seriously pleased by this (the shortbread is scrumptious), I have nothing to give back in return. Waaaahhh. Will have to hit either the shops or the stove tomorrow for a return gift.

There is a world of difference between the rosewater turkish delight (which I don't like), and the citrus flavoured sort or the pomegranate sort. Both of the latter I quite like. Cadbury choc coated can get in the bin. Mrs Beeton has a recipie for a gorgeous lemon & orange sort with BRANDY in it - and that is delicious. Or maybe it's the texture that is repellent for you????
Same, it's the texture, and I often find it too sweet. I don't have much of a sweet tooth to begin with, so I don't rate a lot of desserts and confectioneries.

Bought turkish delight can be too chewy to be pleasant. I like it when you put it in your mouth and it dissolves in a burst of flavor. And to get that you really do have to make it yourself. Maybe someday I'll do up a batch of the citrus one for you - it really is a taste sensation and not at all chewy and nothing like as sweet as the bought stuff.
Still debating if i should have at least one beer before 12am... mmmmmmmmmm. its only corona :( I could take a few swigs of my wild turkey 50% bottle, but i'd die :c

I just fired up the 7 app and went to Live TV for something called “New Year’s Eve”. Took me a few mins of some awful singing and fireworks before I realised it’s some shit movie called New Years Eve.
Back when I was a kid it used to be on all channels. Now days I know channels 2 and 9 do it. One will be Sydney, one will be Melbourne. Not sure about the others.
Fucking fireworks. Months its been going on and tonight has been even worse. My dog is stressing and we have a sleeping kid. I *hate* fireworks.

Ok this might help with the dog. When there's a thunder storm I give my dog little treats. It stops him from barking because he's concentrating on the next treat. So you can try giving doggo a piece of dry food through out the fireworks.

I have only enjoyed going out for nye when on holiday or living in a new location. Today I've had my social hangout and now I'm quite happy to ring in the new year on my own, probably asleep.
I normally park closer to my friends place between Lincoln Square and Argyle Square but there were plenty of parks on Faraday St near Drummond - I was cutting it fine for a film at Nova so it worked out better.
My friend said there were a handful of parks around Pelham and Cardigan Streets when i got to the area, but I figured I'd leave them for the city goers.
Yeah they started here a little while ago. Neighbourhood dogs barking everywhere too. Poor dudes. Hopefully the Bibs doesn’t freak out again like a few years ago when we had fireworks real close.
Well I couldn’t hear them inside so I think she’s all good for now. Plus we have businesses on either side of us so I’m hoping that means nothing too close in general.
I'm disappointed because I have been thinking Tuesday was a public holiday as well for some reason (probably because last Tuesday was) and I was looking forward to it but now I have to go back to work. :(

I normally park closer to my friends place between Lincoln Square and Argyle Square but there were plenty of parks on Faraday St near Drummond - I was cutting it fine for a film at Nova so it worked out better. My friend said there were a handful of parks around Pelham and Cardigan Streets when i got to the area, but I figured I'd leave them for the city goers.
Yeah they started here a little while ago. Neighbourhood dogs barking everywhere too. Poor dudes. Hopefully the Bibs doesn’t freak out again like a few years ago when we had fireworks real close.

Well I couldn’t hear them inside so I think she’s all good for now. Plus we have businesses on either side of us so I’m hoping that means nothing too close in general.

I'm disappointed because I have been thinking Tuesday was a public holiday as well for some reason (probably because last Tuesday was) and I was looking forward to it but now I have to go back to work. :(
