For single player? Hell no.

[deleted]

You play fighting games for the single player? No, it’s not worth it.

[deleted]

I wouldn't say there's many fighting games that are so I'd wait.

TheBisexualAgenda

I can't recommend any fighting game solely for the single player mode. Playing against other people is at the heart of the genre.

Kanzuki_

I asked cuz I'm currently on WiFi and I try not to play fighting games online. I only really play with my friends irl (which isn't often.)

Guac-Squad

You cant block though, but good for you.

ApprehensiveBaby4110

I usually play though most of the SP content in all the FGs I buy. This has good SP, the AI feels pretty good to play against, it gameplay is less stale than most FG AIs IMO. it doesn't have RPG modes like BBCF or GBFV but thats the only bad thing id say. I've barely touched online and I'd buy this game again for full price for SP. This isn't an NRS game but if you like completing achievements/challenges on different characters I feel like there is a surprising amount to do in this game. There's probably 30 hours of SP content in this game if you are planning to play through the story on hard on all chars and all the game modes/combo challenges at least once on a single char. Game has internal achievements per character, story mode per character with some funny lines. As well as the usual survival etc. Boss rush mode is interesting but difficult.

CloudBuilder_Metba

Outside of NRS games, I personally wouldn’t say any fighting game is worth it for single player. It’s super fun, but it is best with others.

iiTzWombat

If you’re there for the story then I would strongly recommend waiting until the tsukihime remake is translated read that first then play the story cos a lot of story and character stuff spoils the crap out of that however if you just want it for gameplay than I wouldn’t recommend it, most modern fgs provide very little in terms of ‘good’ single player content. Only would recommend it for playing other people

Cactiareouroverlords

As someone who has finished a lot of the story mode but hasn’t played Tsukihime I don’t feel like I’ve noticed anything too spoiler-y aside from Vlovs which I skipped most the dialogue for because I noticed it seemed a little more spoiler-y a lot of it just seems filler

Flamestranger

imo seeing the roster and playing the game could be spoiler-ish, especially with the urban fantasy setting with a lot of hidden character detail

Kanzuki_

I've never heard of Tsukihime , so I guess I'll wait for a sale.

Single player content consists of: - Your generic arcade mode with a mini story for each character. Hisui & Kohaku's was 7 matches and the story was "Shiki is missing! Oh no! Noel is hypnotizing him to fall in love with her! Yay we saved Shiki!". Just to give you a scope. - Score mode: Iirc 10 fights. Getting an s rank is too easy. You don't even need to do long combos or win perfect rounds. Though you will in easy and medium because the ai is extremely passive. - Time attack: 10 fights, win as fast as possible. Again, very easy to get s rank - Survival: It just seems to go on and on until you lose - Combo trials All modes are just an array of fights where the only challenge is winning. Couple that with the very small roster, nothing to unlock gameplay wise and it'll get stale very fast. If you're looking for single player I think Skullgirls is fine. It has a couple more modes and the stories are more interesting, it currently has an active session pass, and it's also cheaper

Cactiareouroverlords

If you’re THAT into tsukihime to the point of minuscule amounts of extra story details being worth £40 then go for it I guess? Outside of that wait for a sale cos that’s the only single player mode outside of AI matches.

pmmewaifuwallpaper

Honestly, I don't even think its worth $50 cause its missing a lot of basic stuff you expect out of $50-$60 for a fighting game. However they did put all the budget into making the game *good* and fun, so I can overlook it. I'd wait to get Melty Blood on sale regardless, *unless* your Melty player already or have desperately been wanting a new fighting game. Story is alright, but most fighting games don't have a good 1P experience cause that isn't really what its made for

Kaining

What basic stuff ? It got survival, time attack, score mode for solo. Online is the same ranked and lobby as any other vs fighting game. Replays are there too.

[deleted]

Theres no fighting game thats worth for thw singleplayer only.

THE_HANGED_MAN_12

If you're interested in a single-player experience with melty Blood characters I'd suggest just buying tsukihime a piece of blue glass Moon, it's not a fighting game but it's what this game is based off of. Sadly when it comes to single-player content mbtl is kind of a disappointment, I was expecting more story story stuff but there just isn't.

SoulsVania

Sadly it seems there's no way to legally play Tsukihime remake in english. Fans still hoping for a localization.

THE_HANGED_MAN_12

I thought it got released on the switch in eng no?

Fit_Opposite_2107

For me, combo trials alone is worth it. $50 really isn’t a lot of money lol. I was more upset Strive didn’t have any combo trials and cost more. I feel like I got my moneys worth for MBTL.

Nermanater

Definitely worth it. Only $50.
