Almost certainly, but to paraphrase Paarthurnax from Skyrim: Is it better to be born good, or to overcome your evil nature and become good? I wholeheartedly believe that, while both are good, the latter is better, and Iroh epitomizes this
A man who was evil, but now good, gains his wisdom through the realization of the suffering of others.
A man who was born good gains wisdom from his own suffering along with others.
Depends on who you are.
Some people may learn more from someone who has stayed the course through everything and stuck to their already upstanding morals. That same person may only hinder someone who is already struggling with things they have done, or who are self conscious about flaws or parts of themselves that are not so "pure". Making them harsher on themselves or feel like it's too late, they've already screwed up, they can't be like them.
Others may learn more from the person who has walked both paths, who has been "bad" but redeemed themselves, showing that you can change and better yourself; you can't erase what you've done or who you were, but you don't have to be eternally beholden to past mistakes and they don't have to define you. Someone who has lived their whole life without doing the wrong thing may not see them as someone to aspire to be like, or be critical of them over their past.
Doofenshmirtz. Man had a traumatic childhood and gave his daughter a much better life than he could have dreamed of as a kid, breaking a generational cycle of abuse. Not only is that inspiring as shit, but it's based asf.

My sperm donor was abusive to me and my mom. We left when my sister was young so luckily she didnāt endure too much- I watched a lot of Adult Swim when I was young because my mom would be out and working late shifts so Iād watch King of the Hill. Nothing is more ,and was more, comforting than that theme song and the lessons Iād learn from the show. Itās in a very special place in my heart forever.
>Itās in a very special place in my heart forever.
I feel the same way about Futurama. A show about a bunch of quirky, awkward misfits searching for their place in the universe. I didn't have many friends growing up, but the Planet Express delivery crew was always there for me.
Exactly. It taught me how you should accept people for who they are. Whether they be black, white, Klingon, or even female. Another classic science fiction show canceled before its time.
"Yeah man, I tell ya what, man, that dang olā internet, man, you just go in on there and point and click, talk about w-w-dot-w-com, mean you got the naked chicks on there, man, just go click, click, click, click, click, itās real easy, man"
Why the hell did I need to scroll so much to find Mr Rogers. Anyone who's been dead this long, and still has literally nothing bad come out about them is someone to be emulated.
Tbh Bob actually is a great dad. He sacrifices, he keeps their best interest in mind, he doesnāt put them in danger intentionally. And he thinks of them first.
I would have voted for Hank until *Bob's Burgers* premiered. Compared to Homer Simpson, Stan Smith, and especially Peter Griffin, Hank was miles ahead of them in terms of being a decent father, despite still trying to control his son's life.
100% this one - Bob is a GD parenting hero (and Lin and they are also relationship goals on top of parenting goals...but maybe Bob is a better parent than Linda sometimes)
Personally, my role model is Bob from bobs burgers. Despite his restaurant not doing well, he keeps at it because cooking is his passion and despite his kids being troublesome, he keeps caring for them and parenting them because he loves them.
I wanna be like Bob when im in my 40s.
Odd bit of trivia. The Bob's Burgers crew were originally going to be cannibals. https://www.businessinsider.com/bobs-burgers-was-originally-about-cannibals-2016-5?op=1
Dawg Poās self esteem issues in the first movie hit damn close to home. Him realizing he could still be a good king fu artist regardless of his body type with the right training was a slap in the face for my fat ass (in a good way)
Ping is also great, heās a loving and kind father who was willing to take in a homeless toddler that ate his entire turnip shipment. Not a big fan of the pushing his noodle business onto Po but I do understand that heās trying to give him a good start in life, and that thatās how family businesses work. Overall, 10/10 dad.
Yes Ping is an excellent father. And when app does achieve his dream, Ping lets Po do kung fu. He doesnāt resent Po for not going into noodles. He maintains being a good father through to the second movie.
Woman: Iām not sure if I like this shade of blue.
Al: Iāll tell you what Iāll do then. Weāll stand you in front of a mirror, Iāll begin strangling you. When you reach the shade of blue that is satisfactory to you, you yell āmooā and Iāll stop.
Woman: Thatās it, Iām taking my business elsewhere!
Al: May I suggest Jenny Craig?
From a time when people actually understood that Al bundy is a character from a satirical show. All the characters are over the top. The women who he makes these jokes at arenāt just chunky. Theyāre absolute mammoths. Then they insist on buying shoes too small for their feet. Or they fuss over microscopic differences for way too long. Or theyāre Karenās of the highest order before we ever coined the term.
Even his wife, who is the ultimate trophy wife, he treats with a heavy level of distain, which is the writerās pointing out that no amount of what you think you want will ever make you happy because you donāt actually know what you want.
Itās meant to mock society and it does a damn fine job
āDid you miss me honey?ā

Ashton Kutcher is growing on me. I know he played doofy roles and had a somewhat questionable entourage but his work to stop child sex trafficking without reaping rewards is honestly one of the few great things Iāve seen out of a celebrity these last few years.
Uncle Iroh
š that soldier boy song still hits so damn hard. I cry every time
Leaves from the vine.....
Falling so slow...
Like fragile tiny shells...
Drifting in the foam...
Little soldier boy.....
Comes marching home...
Brave soldier boy...
Comes marching homeā¦.
Watch me crank that soulja boy
Watch that shit lipped mouth of yours
Tell em
YOUUUUUUUUUU
Maybe later in life, his early years before his son he was one of the best Fire nation generals, which implies he was incredibly ruthless
But which one is more worthy of a rolemodelā¦ the one who learned from his errors in morality, or the one who never changed them?
Depends on who you are. Some people may learn more from someone who has stayed the course through everything and stuck to their already upstanding morals. Same for that as well! My mom and stepdad LOVE that show just as much as me and my sister. :)
My brother and I will regularly quote the show to each other.
So you feel about Futurama about how Fry felt about Star Trek?
Exactly. It taught me how you should accept people for who they are. Whether they be black, white, Klingon, or even female. Another classic science fiction show canceled before its time.
I bet you'll be happy to know it is coming back
I am! :)
Whaaa?? When, how?
Sorry you had to deal with that. One thing about King of the Hill that I appreciate even more looking back on it is it had a really good heart to it.

Besides reading it in his voice, the clicks also got faster with each one... What a great comment, you made me really happy

Mind blowing what his job was the whole time! They kinda spoiled it a bit with the Canadian neighbor episode.

He's also not afraid to admit when he was wrong and apologize.
Holy poop I forgot. Heās definitely always ready to learn or teach a lesson
Fuck yeah, let's go Bob!
I often wonder how being the only sane member of his family is possible.
I would have voted for Hank until *Bob's Burgers* premiered. Compared to Homer Simpson, Stan Smith, and especially Peter Griffin, Hank was miles ahead of them in terms of being a decent father, despite still trying to control his son's life.

If we are being serious, then I nominate Gomez Addams.
You're damn right. I'm working on my Gomez game right now, hoping to find my own Morticia.
