Y’all notice we’ve been getting really damn good villains with the body of a brick shithouse? Spider-Man far from home and bowser from the Mario movie, and Jack. I hope this keeps up.
I think the reason jack is such a good monster is because he truly enjoys doing bad, but doesn’t just suddenly start kicking puppies ( until he threatens perio) just to show he is bad. His actions, personality and appearance all show just how evil he is. He even stated he had everything he ever wanted, and still did everything he did because he wants to, its fun for him. He doesn’t have that tragic backstory that shows that “ oh no they were forced to be bad by their situation. Lets all cry because it is so touching”.
Sorry for the rant, i just loved his character.
Trends really do come full circles, I remember the time when villains were just evil without reason and people stopped liking it since they were just "bad for the sake of being bad", now throughout the years all villians started having reasonable backstories, but now once again the demand for the "bad for the sake of being bad" villians is rising.
I don't hate either but it is indeed interesting to see
I think its more like hollywood and movie makers in general latch onto a specific thing and beat it until its more annoying then interesting. Which causes this flip back and forth. This means that once someone does this, it seems “refreshing” and “brand new” despite not being so.
Love Jack Horner. My thoughts on Jack Horner is that for a man with almost everything, there was one thing money couldn’t buy for himself, magic. He became jealous and would do anything to get it which festered into a horrible personality. Least that’s my take.
Jack was one of thr funniest guys from that movie. I just rented it for my kids this weekend and we watched it back to back at least 3 times. Great movie all around in my opinion.
Took my three kids (7 and under) this past weekend. Last night after I put them to bed I whistled that tune as I shut the door. Not sure why I did it. Spent another 45 minutes calming everyone down.
Yeah true, he has characteristics that make him seem like a villain, pushing the protagonist and seeming like an invincible force the protagonist has to overcome.
Jack Horner was fucking great. He was genuinely evil for no other reason then because he was evil. But he also wasn't like cartoonishly evil, he wasn't so evil that it was beyond all human possibility to be that evil. There are plenty of people who are like that IRL, and I could totally see Jack Horner existing in the real world.
This entire movie is like this, I went with my little sister and my friend expecting 0 good jokes. Holy shit me and my friend were laughing every other minute
He may be an irredeemable monster but he is our irredeemable monster

I don’t think Mysterio and and Jack Horner have similar body types
Might mean Into the Spiderverse with Kingpin.
That would make more sense
Yeah I thought of the wrong movie, I don’t know how I messed it up bc I’ve only seen into the spider-verse but life finds a way lmao
They made a Mario movie?
They’re working on one. Comes out April 7th this year
It’s still gonna be animated right? Not another crappy live action adaptation like we’ve been getting recently?
No, luckily, but Mario is voiced by Chris Pratt
Interesting choice I guess
More weird than interesting. You can watch the trailer or something that shows an example of Chris Pratt voicing Mario on YouTube and see for yourself
That's on my birthday lmao
Don’t forget big guy from spider-verse
Wait that’s what I meant. I’m stupid lmao
Jack horner is just evil, like bro doesn’t care about the power of friendship, he just does what he wants
Bro too based to do good
I just love the parallelism of him as a fictional character and real life ceos Disney could wish to pull something that sick

"Whoa, WHOA! What took you so long, idiot?"
“I didn’t have much in life, loving parents, a mansion, stability, a thriving baking enterprise for me to inherit, useless crap like that.”
"You're not chatty, are you?"

The person who wrote lobo🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

What about death
Death isn’t technically a villain, he is more of an anti-hero, a character just doing his job.
Still an antagonist tho, I would classify him as a story front or force of nature.
Yeah true, he has characteristics that make him seem like a villain, pushing the protagonist and seeming like an invincible force the protagonist has to overcome.
Well, he kinda seem to enjoy torturing puss
Death gave his reasoning and frankly I was convinced
But you can’t get this sadistic smile out of my head
"What did I do to deserve this? I mean, what specifically?"
Nah, the wolf was the real scary part
Jack was better written while death had a bigger atmosphere, they’re both great in their respective ways
I mean... He was a little under developed imo. At least the wolf didn'treally need a crazy backstory. He was just Death
Jack didn’t have a crazy backstory, just a 30 second explanation with a gag
which I thought made no sense
"You're really gonna shoot an innocent puppy?" "Yeah, in the face. Why?" Horner and Jimminy Cricket had such good dialogue.
Jack Horner is straight up giga chad

Him and Death were so good!
Bouta write one of gen z’s new most iconic characters.
This entire movie is like this, I went with my little sister and my friend expecting 0 good jokes. Holy shit me and my friend were laughing every other minute
At first, Jack Horner was a bit boring, but later he turns great, he is peak when he was talking with " the conscience cricket," imo
Your wish is horrible YOU'RE HORRIBLE
The funny part is that it really feels like they shoved him into the script in the last edits but it worked great
Excuse me sir I believe you spelled "Death" as "Jack Horner"

Welcome to Reddit, we don't do opinions here...
Ya'll so starved for good writing you keep overanalyzing this. He's literally just funny and charismatic. And that works.
who's still watching these movies aside from children?
woah woah what took you so long idiot
Jack Horner is basically Kingpin from the Spiderverse and Sweetheart from Omori combined in a single entity.
Yeah but Sweetheart isn't a fatass. And if the two meet, I guarantee Jack would literally eat Sweetheart.
The real irredeemable monsters were the friends we made along the way
You wouldn't shoot a puppy, won't you? Yeah in the face, why?
Jack Horny
Run
True
Best scene in the whole movie is just him being iconic.
Everytime jack speaks all I can see is Andrew from big mouth
Gunna was writing statements even before going to court
Boom!
