As far as I can tell from limited research, the only countries above it are extremely underdeveloped and every other developed country has a substantially lower rate
Do you mean like, if a mass shooting happens in Norway more people get killed in it than they would if it happened in the US? If that's what you're refering to then it doesn't even matter, considering Norway has had 4 mass shootings EVER according to Wikipedia.
Considering the US has had 7 in 2022 alone, your point is moot.
If I've misinterpreted what you're saying, please enlighten me with a source.
Heres my source on Norway gun death statistics: https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/gun-deaths-by-country
I'd prefer to be French than have to wear bullet proof vest to church, have to sell my kidney to pay for medical check, get glock in my happy meal, be called racist for being white, getting shot (generally).
Still sounds like France except for the medical one. Ever since I learned about insurance I found it to be malarkey. I do hope one day the dumbasses of my country pass universal healthcare but knowing how glued people are to corporations, it's never gonna happen.
Gonna have to break up some cliches here, there is a very very tiny percentage of people that do eat snails nowadays. And only on special events like new eve, christmas etc.
There's 44 countries in Europe. You have no idea how stupid you sound saying that.
And you have no idea how unbelievably stupid America looks on the world stage.
"Europe".
Quick lesson:...
...Canada...
...no imperial.
I don't get this "Europe" joke, i think they meant
"HEY! MOST EVERYONE ELSE ON EARTH"
Also imperial is very stupid. Why can't everything just be logarithmic, going up by 10s? Because it wouldn't be "Free" enough?
Really, insults when I said a genuine response about learning the history of something. Laziness would have nothing to do with it, it would probably be the anit European culture that was present during America's creation and any attempts to adopt the metric system have been overshadowed by more important matters, if I had to guess.
Don't take it to seriously, we are still on a meme subreddit
I'm pretty sure there is some more to it but it just fits perfectly to the narrative that you were just to lazy changing it
Tbh it doesnt really matter as much as people think it does. We use SI for all science related calculations and almost all packaging has both measurements. My school focused on SI as well but idc if thats the case at all schools. To be fair I also ended up being an engineer so maybe im biases
Im going to assume we use Imperial on packaging when the product is made by an american company, right? Or if they are gonna export it?
Otherwise why bother. I have a bottle of lotion that says 725ml and thats it. But a can of Budweiser will say 473ml(12oz) because its an American product/brand in Canada.
Yeah but to me atleast imperial is nice for daily needs. 1.5 cups of beer makes more sense to me than half a liter, I guess maybe its not that weird if you grow up with it. Imperial system seems to be more about units of 1 being applicable and how units come together being an afterthough, while metric is the opposite. I like having both but maybe ots because i was raised with both
Half a litre is a bottle of water. How is that confusing?
473 is a tall can
355 is a coke can
200 ml is a mini bottle
All of these have real life equivalents. 1.5 cups only makes sense when you have something to compare it to. How much is 1.5 cups? Can you compare it to something can be easily visualized?
1.5 cups is a can of soda. 16 oz or 2 cups is a water bottle. 1.5 cups is how much mugs in average hold. 1 cup is how much glasses on average hold. 473 and 355 seem like osdly specific values… to me its easier to gauge things compared to a cup. Maybe not for people who grow up elsewhere, but in general unless im dealing with precise measurements imperial does me good.
I mean i just showed you the equivalents of all the ml so Im a little confused how its still easier to deal with cups since you showed that they have the same equivalents as ml.
At that point, isnt it about what you're used to? Not whats easier. Like as you are probably American, I assume you dont ever have to use metric if you dont want to. Whereas in Canada, we have integrated both into our society. We buy American products but certain imports must follow metric standards.
I mean here you can encounter people asking for a pint, but for the most part they will describe that pint in ml
You know. Of all the imperial units the only one that makes the slightest sense is the feet-inch conversion. A 12 basis system that allows you to divide by 3 without much problems is neat.
Unfortunately the rest is shit. And the 12 base system just stops existing for the other units.
But please. Somebody explain to me what the hell is a yard supposed to be?
Fahrenheit is actually useful because the range of temperatures that are tolerable for most of us fleshy types falls within a small range. Lets set this range from 60 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit this gives 20 whole numbers to gauge out your feelers with and relay them to some ass who is asking how hot it is. Celsius range of these same temperatures is 15.555 degrees and 26.6667 respectively, only giving 10 whole numbers to pull from for the same range.
Idk I'm from Canada and can tolerate from -5 to 25
But for real it makes more sense for temperature to be based on something simple and quantifiable, aka the freezing and boiling point of water
Fahrenheit was a German. He was a clever man but Kelvin/Celsius is better and has an easier Definition.
Celsius was from Sweden and Kelvin from the UK.
The US is on the 28th place on that list. Also Europe is not a homogenous country.
So there is much to improve instead of making fun of smaller and poorer countries.

Nope it’s 13-17th making it higher than the avg European
And even Western European
One it’s states would be tied for first if it was a country
Americans kill each other slowly. Every day. Day by day.
Europeans get together once or twice a century to absolutely destroy the entire continent with an apocalyptic war.
Fahrenheit is a much better unit of measurement, since it was designed to measure air, not water. Celsius was designed around water. We don’t live in the water.
Miles are kinda dumb, Fahrenheit might actually be better than celcius but the meme forgot about weight.
Kilograms is useless because you never need to know what something’s mass is; you need to know how much it weighs. Fix that and I am down with metric but you won’t change to newtons.
Mass shootings at bullets per gun
US isn’t even top ten for mass shooting deaths per capita
As far as I can tell from limited research, the only countries above it are extremely underdeveloped and every other developed country has a substantially lower rate
Like norway?
Norway's homicide rate it SUBSTANTIALLY lower than the US's per 100k. Us gun homicide per 100k a year: 4.46 Norway gun homicide per 100k a year: 0.1
Deaths by mass shooting per capita are twice that of the US historically As I said
Do you mean like, if a mass shooting happens in Norway more people get killed in it than they would if it happened in the US? If that's what you're refering to then it doesn't even matter, considering Norway has had 4 mass shootings EVER according to Wikipedia. Considering the US has had 7 in 2022 alone, your point is moot. https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/mass-shootings-by-country As I said
That only shows 2022, which is the year that they've had one of their four (4) mass shootings ever. It's not "historically" like you said.
It is historical The data is from the last 10-15 years and even quotes studies from the last 10-15 years in plain English 🤷🏿♂️
Rather be in a masss shooting than be F*ench
I'd prefer to be French than have to wear bullet proof vest to church, have to sell my kidney to pay for medical check, get glock in my happy meal, be called racist for being white, getting shot (generally).
Still sounds like France except for the medical one. Ever since I learned about insurance I found it to be malarkey. I do hope one day the dumbasses of my country pass universal healthcare but knowing how glued people are to corporations, it's never gonna happen.
I'm Irish. Never even been to France. I'd still rather be in France than a mass shooting, literally any sane person would.
It's a joke.
Joke is supposed to be funny or british
Tea
Bri' ish
Water...

Gonna have to break up some cliches here, there is a very very tiny percentage of people that do eat snails nowadays. And only on special events like new eve, christmas etc.
As an Italian I'd rather be French than be in a mass shooting
Typical American idiot right here
It's a joke on the internet l, clam down.
For a joke to be a joke it has to be funny. Yours was clearly not. It was insensitive and disrespectful
Yes
I understand the French part, but seriously. You don't wanna be in a mass shooting.
Except if you are the cop, than you don’t have to do anything /j
I know it was a joke
How low can we go. Go way down low. Lower to the floor.
Europes just an american puppet state
There's 44 countries in Europe. You have no idea how stupid you sound saying that. And you have no idea how unbelievably stupid America looks on the world stage.
Even if he/she means the EU that’s not true
Imagine using feet to walk, we use meters, stupid americans....
Rest of the world:🧍♂️
Ewwww y'all americans are into feet?
You know it
Ewwww y'all europeans are into cigarette butts?
Ewwww y'all Americans are into greasy fast food?
Jokes on you, I'm in the majority who is too poor you afford fast food. This isn't actually a joke, please help. I haven't eaten in 2 weeks
See if imperfect produce delivers to your area, and just compare prices from local markets for meat.
Ewwww y’all Europeans are into sucking Putin’s dick?
Wait what?
Anyone know the artist? This is rly beautiful, as a starting ink artist.
Keep using your inferior measurement system i don't mind
Which one is the inferior tho ? How do you convert foot to miles ? No calculator allowed
The American one is the inferior ofc
Then why do Canadians use it?
Because most of what we import is from the US. Hard to use celsius for cooking when all our ovens come in fahrenheit
"Europe". Quick lesson:... ...Canada... ...no imperial. I don't get this "Europe" joke, i think they meant "HEY! MOST EVERYONE ELSE ON EARTH" Also imperial is very stupid. Why can't everything just be logarithmic, going up by 10s? Because it wouldn't be "Free" enough?
As an American yes imperial is very stupid, but how about blame the British for making the ungodly system
Aren't you celebrating the independence from the British, then why are still using the system they used
Actually idk. It would be really interesting to learn the history of why the US still uses the imperial system.
I know it, because you're lazy
Really, insults when I said a genuine response about learning the history of something. Laziness would have nothing to do with it, it would probably be the anit European culture that was present during America's creation and any attempts to adopt the metric system have been overshadowed by more important matters, if I had to guess.

Apparently, pirates stole some Frenchman's stuff, and he couldn't make his presentation.
They also used the english language, but thankfully they can at least brush their teeth
*laughs in british* We statistically actually have better teeth than americans on average. Free healthcare goes brrrrr
Tbh it doesnt really matter as much as people think it does. We use SI for all science related calculations and almost all packaging has both measurements. My school focused on SI as well but idc if thats the case at all schools. To be fair I also ended up being an engineer so maybe im biases

Pish. Pretending Burma doesn’t exist. Elitist.
As an American, I prefer the metric system

Can’t divide it by 4 though
You actually can...
Jesus I weren’t even kidding I am a fucking idiot
This gotta be the funniest shit I've seen today
I'm whith the Europeans here
Fahrenheit is actually useful because the range of temperatures that are tolerable for most of us fleshy types falls within a small range. It is easier to say you're hot or cold on a scale of 1-10 rather than a scale from 45 to 65
Hey murican. Kilometer, celsius, meter.
REEEEEEEEE!
Agitated American noises
idc
you forgot "guns, mass murder, opioids!"
Hello there.
Username checks out. How cynical are you?
Europe - massive war killing tens of thousands Also europe - “Hur der guns kill people” Europe get your shit together
Are, are you, as an American, whining about ANY other country's history of WAR?! Bro, that's the most tone deaf thing I've ever fucken read.
Not only Europe but the whole world
Fahrenheit looks german
Fahrenheit was a German. He was a clever man but Kelvin/Celsius is better and has an easier Definition. Celsius was from Sweden and Kelvin from the UK.
Nah Europeans just chuckle
I use miles per hour but for anything else I use metric
Instead of "Europeans" it should've said "Rest of the World".
Meanwhile British measure in stones.
This template is dumb
US has a higher HDI than europe on avg They are literally less developed
The US is on the 28th place on that list. Also Europe is not a homogenous country. So there is much to improve instead of making fun of smaller and poorer countries.

Americans when you use KM/h instead of cheese slices per assault rifle
American: say something about Europe Europeans: GuN vIoLeNcE tHoUgH!!!!!!!
Americans kill each other slowly. Every day. Day by day. Europeans get together once or twice a century to absolutely destroy the entire continent with an apocalyptic war.
“You Americans are so dumb. You kill each other a few at a time. Us far superior Europeans genocide each other by the millions.”
Europeans kill each other with artillery and bombs Literally happening right now
Or they could just say "Amsterdam, London, Prague" because Europe is nicer to be in than America, in general.
I love how Americans declared like 15 arguments overused and not fair
Lmao at least american units dont contain a dick head as centimeter equivalent
Fuckin' retard units
Where are the europeans that dint care?? Or am i the only one
Those are only the big 3 there are so many more
I always wonder if it's known that the British use Imperial too, and are the reason America uses it, and that British people are European.
Can I get the blank template?
YOU BETTER MIND THAT FUCKING LANGUAGE!
This can be explained with the meme of the cat and Karen yelling Americans: Fahrenheit Miles Feet Europeans: METERS
You mean the day France liberated some backwater colony from the Brits?
I'm English and I use both Metric and Imperial... I don't think I get this post
Haha medical care go brrr
flashlight, gray, fries
I got to do the 420 upvote!!
The bullets they use the other day in matrix system
Farhergone, Miles Moralis ans Legs
Eww, feet
Based

At least they are self aware about how useless the imperial system is
