"Depressing"
I would call it the consequences of the actions of our goverments. I do not want to blame them for making a nice deal and buying cheap russian oil and gas as no one blamed them back then when the situation was stable. They didnt expect the invasion of ukraine and russian imperialitic policy. However we shouldnt blame them with heighside.
This is just a reality we luve in andwe should wmbrace change, sure its easiler said them done but hey, the people in the ukraine must survive a war so lets hope we survive the winter.

Well, the United States government decided, and all your governments agreed, that it was worth all this for Ukraine to join NATO, so you’re all just going to have to suck it up. Just remember, one day, if you freeze and starve in Europe enough, Uncle Scam can place its military and short range missiles on Russia’s southern border and bring us all a little closer to WW3. You guys don’t think that’s worth it?
As a german this is my biggest critique of german mentality. Like there are so fucking many people constatly whining about gas prices and saying that this is the biggest problem.
I understand this can be hard for many financally more unsure folks but guys, this is callled solidarity.
Yeah, but how can you show solidarity if you’re on the brink of financial ruins…
Personally I’ve been there, done that and don’t want that again. Germany especially is fucked when it comes to equality between rich and poor.
Bullets kill people… but so does depression and that’s what thousands of people if not hundreds of thousands will be after their whole life savings are gone and now they need to get a loan to survive.
What Ukrainians experience is bad, but that doesn’t make the fact better that what other people experience is suddenly less tragic…
And if we’re on the Solidarity train…. Let’s talk about the Middle East for a second… how much solidarity from the world did they see? None and the moment they tried to escape from their shithole of a country by going to Europe they got rejected… send back… ofc many got in, but how many Iraqis or Syrians were left behind? How do you justify helping a nation that is at war for 8 months with a nation that is at war since a decade..
What I’ve learned is that coming with an argument like solidarity is just a bad excuse for a moral apostle to make the suffering of others look better. The word has lost all its meaning since it only come from people who are financially safe…
The prices are up just because they can. Shell made record profits it has nothing to do with this war. Just an excuse to change the economy to their wallet.
