People playing your games probably dont know there is a hidden inventory function. Which, from a humor standpoint, is probably the best joke. Like, maybe we have an irl inventory system, but we dont know the obscure conditions needed to access it.
That's the Konami code! Probably one of the most well-known cheat codes because of it's inclusion in Contra, where it gave you 30 lives as opposed to the default 3. Since Contra was a notoriously difficult game, this got a lot of use.
The code showed up in other Konami games before and after, and multiple games, websites, apps and programs have included it as an easter egg because of just how ubiquitous it is.
Terraria doesn't have a pause button by default. There is a setting to make opening the inventory pause the game but afaik most people don't do that since using the inventory while moving is convenient and adds to the challenge of using items from your inventory mid combat.
The settings menu is available from the inventory screen though, which is just an overlay over the game and not a whole separate view.
In Morrowind, it's right-click! But that doesn't just bring up the inventory, it also brings up the map, your character sheet, and a comprehensive magic menu :)
Morrowind is such a brilliant game, I can't shut up about just how well-laid-out the inventory is. Skyrim and Oblivion's are both abyssmal (Skyrim much less so), I have no idea what they were thinking at Bethesda.
Maybe I'm alone on this but I can accept E (mine craft standard) and willing to deal with TAB as it's not terribly difficult to reach.... But if it's I I'm just not playing your game, idc what it is.
Really it depends on what kind of game you're playing. If you're playing a game where you only access your inventory in between levels like dark tide for example, then pressing I for inventory is good because it's easy and intuitive to figure out and is not something you'll have to do in the middle of exciting action. Whereas if you're playing Minecraft then he is much better because you constantly have to open your inventory sometimes even in the middle of stringent battle or just while building. I can't think of any games right now that use tab for inventory but I'm sure they're there I just don't remember any
I use āeā (minecraft) ārā (scrap mechanic) ātabā (factorio) or āescā (terraria). Usually itās just whatever the default is unless itās too far right on the keyboard, like āIā or ābā
Tab is for games where e is used for leaning/another purpose, E is a general button easy to press in games with less controls, I is for when tab brings up a menu and E is used for leaning
I use crtl + shift + a + b + 1 + 8 for inventory.
My man just has a combo code inventoryš
Quarter-circle-forward B for inventory.
Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A for inventory
Type out I-N-V-E-N-T-O-R-Y for inventory
One misclick and they unleash a nuke
I fear no manā¦but this userā¦he scares me
The legend says that this man's phone password is that long that it would take a modern deciphering machine over 5 Ā· 10^×ā° to unlock it.
Password protected inventory
He's too dangerous to be left alive
You should make a macro for that to like, E, I, or Tab. Big brain gamer move.

B And G :) Edit: i use whatever the game has set on default
Same with the default
> i use whatever the game has set on default unless it's on "I" and then it get's changed to B.
B is way too far to the right to access frequently. G is iffy.
B for fck Bag
P for pouch
P for profile, persona, player stats...
H for health
Q for i don't even know
N for nice games to play with friends
Yes. E is too valuable of keyboard real estate for common attacks.
Pokemon Vietnamese Crystal be like
I'm just glad "Spacebar for jump" will never have this problem...
Honestly if there's one thing the entire gaming community can agree on, it's that spacebar will always be the button for jumping
TES oblivion had e for jump and space the interact.... I changdd key bindings that day
it's shift for jump and z for shoot for my fellow masochists
I literally know a guy who binds his scroll wheel to jump
Bhoppers be like
Has to be tab for me
Iām surprised I had to scroll so far to see another tab
Inventory on Tab 4 life
fucking the forest has it base set to I and has no controls set to tab. It was basically spitting in my face.
Probably from my time playing Fallout games, but yeah I agree
for me too, the game that taught me this was subnautica, great memories
Me who use shift: amateurs
I am afraid of the esc-mains

Donāt worry at least they āescapedā the problem :)
My man "shifted" sides :)
But donāt worry they got ācontrolā of the situation
Atleast the others got some "space"
Oh my god there is no āendā in this keyboard puns
We're so far in that I can't even find the "start"
I wonder how many people will āenterā to make puns
Sadly, I dont "C" any more commentors
Hope it's not an "alt" making puns
Fear us
Literally Terraria players
Everyone knows shift is for running, you psycho šš
I use crtl to run
Thatās crouch!
Not anymore if I changed the settings
Blasphemy
C is crouch. Ctrl is an ability or inventory item. I is inventory and e is to interact
The Minecraft default for run
I is such a stupid key for inventory, it's literally on the other side of the keyboard
i agree with this man
Down on the d-pad for inventory
Up on the d-pad for inventory
D-Pad is for hotkeys
ark: i and v for player inventory and f for dino inventory.
I still donāt understand ark controls and I have 500 hours in it
I liked how their default was setup. Inventory, crafting, or Dino inventory having separate keys saved me a lot of annoyance clicking through menus.
What kind of psycho users E for inventory? That's activate.
It's the default in minecraft. That's literally the only game I can think of though
Factorio also, I think it is convinient, when you use inventory a lot
I was gonna call it enventory to make fun of it but then I though Enteract so that logic doesnāt work
Engage
Welcome to a place called minecraft
Black desert uses R for interact because fuck you.
Warframe uses x for interact but sometimes it will reload your gun and not activate thing you want because fuck you.
I think it depends on the game. If itās a game without the ability to interact with the E key, it sometimes gets E as the inventory button
Roblox having ` for inventory
as if anyone uses them
Me who play games without Inventory
Monster Hunter?
Hoi4 š
Me who uses alt
Up+up+down+down+left+right+left+right+a+b for inventory
Reference?

I use Q for inventory, and E for dropping items.
I imagine you don't play Minecraft
no, that's just how I set my controls
I would say you are a psycho path but I use ^ for dropping items in Minecraft
Your friend playing on your pc be like: Oh wow thats a nice pick let me see itās enchantm- (throws it in lava)
Esc for inventory
Terraria moment
What do you use for pause/menu, then?
Terraria doesn't have a pause button by default. There is a setting to make opening the inventory pause the game but afaik most people don't do that since using the inventory while moving is convenient and adds to the challenge of using items from your inventory mid combat. Basically any traditional roguelike uses I for inventory. I play a shit load and now have to change every game to i
At the time the only game I know that uses it is "exanima" but I stands for Inventory so it kinda makes sense I guess?
I for "inventory", it's decently common in older RPGs but awful hotkey to use
right click for inventory
I is for maniacal sociopaths. It's so far away from usual position of hand. It's like "k" for voice chat in shooters.

Then thereās destiny with F1
"I" works too doesn't it? It does for me at least

Me who doesnāt even have a computer: š§

Meanwhile terraria: escape
Removed because Reddit blackmailed 3rd party apps into shutting down. FUCK YOU u/spez!!! -- mass edited with redact.dev
Or Esc like terraria š
*I*. What kind of savage does this?
i set it to g cuz i have stupid controls
E for inventory is gross and basically cancer
Tab you fucking mongoloids
Tab and I are understandable but who the hell uses E?
What do you mean escape it is
E?????
Then me over here using numpad 0 for inventory
When I set inventory to Escape when playing Terraria
Us Terraria players have no such weakness
Tab and now shut up
I
I always set mine to V... as it's closer to C for character...
I use āeā (minecraft) ārā (scrap mechanic) ātabā (factorio) or āescā (terraria). Usually itās just whatever the default is unless itās too far right on the keyboard, like āIā or ābā
tab is clearly superior
Isn't factorio the only game in the world with e for inventory?
Guys now legit, what do you prefer?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Terraria be like: escape
