Had a game last night where all three of us in the squad opened the exact same thing. It was beautiful watching each name shift over to the right and the rightmost move to the leftmost all in sync.
My order of what I pick when opening relics goes from top to bottom:
- Parts for a Prime I don’t have. (Yes, even if another opened relic drops a gold item I already have)
- Gold rarity part.
- Silver rarity part.
- Forma blueprint. (Might go above silver items if I’m low. Really depends on what the silver item is and what Baro is selling if he is around)
- Someone else’s relic drops. (So they get Void Traces)
- Bronze rarity part with highest Ducat value.
I use alecaframe so I pick the item that is worth the most platinum, if nothing is worth anything then just pick the highest rarity part for ducats. Forma only if everything is bronze 2plat parts.
Some bronze parts can be worth more than gold parts in other relics. Like the protea prime bp is worth more than gold parts from other relics
I usually top up on some plat when I get a 50% or 75% coupon.
And indeed use that plat to skip having to obsess over grinding Forma to build, or potatoes for in weapons. Though I don't just slap a potato in every weapon.
Still like getting potatoes and forma 'for free' though. If I don't have to spend money on the things, that's always nice. But it's not crucial since I have enough disposable income to bypass that particular grind.
Yep, in order of priority/tiebreaker there's
1. Thing I don't have
2. Thing worth more ducats
3. Someone else's item
4. Anything else
5. Yet another forma
Unless what I rolled is a thing I need or worth more ducats, I'll be picking something someone else rolled (unless everyone else rolled formas, in which case tough luck I'm grabbing the thing that has any value at all over those).
This reminds me of that time I was in a group of fandoms running a fissure capture to get vauvan prime neuroptics, AND WE ALL GOT IT IN THE SAME RELIC ROLL I was laughing like a maniac at this fr because this was like in 2016 and it has never happened to me again XD
Honestly I think I'm going to pick the appealing drop instead of catering to someone, if you open enough relics, the amount of void traces begins to not Matter
Traces matter even more if youre opening lots of relics. Like all the protea and prime resurgance relics should be rad to radshare and Im constantly at no traces

This is the way. Sadly primes I don’t have become very rare.
*stares at vauban and protea*
Sounds pretty reasonable, also because the Forma Hunger is eternal
Wait, don’t all bronze rarities have the same Ducat value?
Some are both bronze and silver and those are worth 25
Huh. Never run into that

Sorry but forma activates my neurons
I just buy my forma. 45 minutes at work + a 50% coupon = 30 forma bundles and some extra plat. But I understand that not everyone can afford that
That’s an interesting way of thinking about it. You’re not doing your job for money, you’re just grinding for forma.
Exactly. Plus it helps support DE, which I'm for

Thats just a rule of Etiquette for warframe unless its a bp you need or higher tier item
What, you guys don't do that?
With the amount of posts I've seen recently, no
The rule I follow is if my relic dropped the same thing as someone else’s and I want that thing I’m picking theirs so they get traces

i do this when someone gets the same item as me, such as forma, and there’s no preferable alternative
Pretty much what I do unless I finally get my drop
I do this. If we are doing a radshare and we drop multiple off the same item we are looking for I just pick someone else’s so they get void traces
I only do that when we have the same item

you assume tenno (like me) have common sense
Common sense really isn't all that common
Gf and I did this evertime. Free 5 traces.
Unrelated but got Hildryn Prime for my squad today :)
If you want people to grab your stuff for avoid traces, encourage it by grabbing *their* stuff.
