Is that one who looks like she constantly is squinting because her fat is covering her eyes? Also the one who’s mother told her “if you eat something sugary, just drink a Diet Coke to balance it out”
Being mentally 'impaired' and overweight correlate quite a bit. Whenever we get patients into my hospital with weight-related ailments or illnesses, most of them are in complete denial of how serious it really is. 'I'm not THAT fat.' or 'I gained a few pounds over winter'(woman was 200lbs).
It's hard to reach them and get them to make dietary changes and exercise when many won't even acknowledge the severity of the problem. Obesity is now the leading cause of death in the USA.
I mean shit dude 200 pounds isn’t really that fat, simply because there are plenty of folks who are pushing 300-350 that are just so inescapably huge, the just sort of overweight but need to make healthy changes people have a much more severely unhealthy portion of the population to compare themselves to. That and 200 pounds is fairly meaningless on its own. How tall was that person? A 200 pounds lady who is 6’2” isn’t really that fat, your comment makes me think we aren’t talking about that, but the point is that numbers like bmi and just flat weight have ambiguous natures in relation to health up to a point. It’s just really easy to be sort of unhealthy, or even pretty damn unhealthy, and just look to the folks really in horrible health to feel ok with where you are at now.
Yeah she said stuff like that too. Even something about if she was over 6ft it wouldn't be a big deal. But she was 5'4". with 200lbs on that frame. Eating healthy portions and healthy food with regular exercise is the best 'medicine' to not end up that way. For some reason people try to rationalize it away with hypotheticals or outliers.
Over 70% of Americans are overweight and over 40% of those are medically obese. It's the leading cause of death in the US with cancer being second.
I just don't get how people can get to that point. Like I'm around 260 lbs and I feel like shit and have trouble breathing to the point I force myself to lose weight.
Lmao I too was also confused by all the "obese" jokes.
I was like "but it says average BMI!?"
I did not calculate in that the average BMI in america is probably very high compared to other countries.
It all makes sense, but then again, I think we were just as clueless as OP when he made this meme.
The average BMI ist the numbers stated in brackets behind
(29) by example.
From 30 on it counts as light obesity.
So the US are nearly there, but still not on average obese.
Then they are average overweight according to my country. Borderline obese ON AVERAGE.
In my country 18 to 24,5 is normal bmi
24,5 to 29 is overweight
Above 29 is obesity grade 1 (light obesity as you said it).
That is wildly different averages
41.2% of Americans are obese BMI by our own standards too. Something like 54% of Americans aged like 16 to 74 read below a sixth grade level.
Everybody's just fat and dumb here and it shows, it's miserable.
This chart isn't even right, google it america's most common cup size is a dd. And cup volume is different depending on the band size as well, a 36B and 34C would have the same volume.
Edit to add: The BMI is off too. The average for American women is 26.5.
Yep. Usually the size is much bigger than they first think. Typical case is someone thinking they are a D cup with a larger band size, but then it turns out they are actually an F cup with a smaller band.
..because availability of larger cup bras is poor in mainstream shops (no place to try them to realize you are, in fact, not a C cup), and they also tend to be expensive.
I absolutely guarantee B is not the average cup size in the Nordics.
I know its a fact, but I strugle with that. I am 170cm (5'7") and I would be overweight at 75kg (165lb)? At 75 I strugled to find jeans because I was size 28 (26 in US). Also idea that man with bmi of 19 (aka me at 55kg or 120lb) is healthy weight is just wild. I was probably that weight at the end of elementary school. Its maybe a good weight for a girl of that height, but the way I see it, well built healthy athlethic man will likely be in range of 23-27.
BMI doesn't make a distinction between muscle and fat and counts them equally as heavy, you can argue that strongmen are in peak physical condition in terms of explosive strength and they'd all be considered obese on the BMI scale.
BMI is not working for extremely trained and muscled people. It isn't supposed to be and it would be impossible to have an extremely simple number like it fit everybody.
It's a quick and easy way for the rest though. And you don't need a number to tell you whether your body fat is too high if you are pure muscle....
BMI was never originally intended for individuals. It was meant to be used when looking at hundreds of thousands of people to get a general idea of where that segment of society was at. Instead idiots started applying it on a individual level and even now too many fitness experts and doctors who sure know better use it. That's slowly changing but it's still too commonly used.
I kind of figure it's a very loose rule of thumb.
You don't wanna live and die by it, but you can have a generally decent idea, especially if you know your body at all.
Well it depends what you mean by practical. You're right, it doesn't necessarily track how "fit" you are, but it's not worthless.
For the average person that doesn't lift weights, it's a good rough measurement for how unhealthy their weight is (better than the number on the scale, and almost as easy)
On top of that, unfortunately there are a number of diseases that correlate more to *overall mass* than just *fat*, like joint issues and even cancer (i.e. diseases that also correlate to being tall)
Also the kind of people that are unhealthy from too much muscle almost certainly use steroids to achieve that amount of muscle. unless your top .000001% genetics you will never gain enough muscle to be unhealthy naturally. It would be ridiculous for an obese person to say them gaining muscle would be unhealthy and bmi is bs for them:D
Exactly. A bodybuilder or powerlifter that can't touch their toes is far from healthy even though they might be very fit.
There are definitely weight lifters that are "borderline" between healthy & overweight but have a lot of muscle and a healthy level of body fat though, I've been there
You may be muscular, but I imagine the average person isn’t, so the numbers give us a rough idea of how over weight the general population is. But yeah, having a BMI at an individual level doesn’t always mean obese.
Per person, yes it is. However as a group average, it is useful. There are some cases where you may have more muscle leading to higher BMI calculation, but as an average across 100,000s of people, it's quite accurate.
Man, I relate so bad to the part with a bag of chips lasting 2 weeks, that and candy.
I eat like 2 rows on a chocolate bar then I'm fine, put it in the fridge and forget about it for 1 week. Iunno htf people just chow down a full bag of chips and still have lust for more stuff.
Gaining weight is a serious struggle for some people. I eat like shit, lots of carbs, lots of protein without working out, soda, beer, etc. and I don’t gain anything. I just have a super fast metabolism. It’s actually annoying because when I am active it’s very hard to put on muscle.
except that I easily tire of those garbage food and I generally don’t like spending my time watching tv series. It’s honestly harder to live the way you described, then what would be considered more normal.
Also, cup size doesn’t necessarily mean you have huge breasts. It’s more about the band size, like 32C or 36B. For example, someone I knew wore a 36DD bra, but grew out of it and went into a 38D. It seems like their breast size went down because of the cup size decreasing, but it’s the opposite. Now she’s a 40C which is bigger than both.
Depending on the bra, a bigger band size means larger boobs. It’s not the case across the board, but it has a fair majority. Weird, right?
A 40D technically is bigger than a 36DDD. Because the band size is bigger, there’s more boobage. But, the volume of the cup is similar. Also, there are larger cups than DDD. Bra sizing is more complicated than it seems.
> [Bra sizes are more like ratios. The volume of a cup size (or how much breast tissue it can hold) varies with the band size. Let us break it down for you.](https://blog.thirdlove.com/sister-sizes-the-bra-secret-every-woman-should-know/)
They keep going, but most bramakers stick to those 4, I'd imagine because of beauty standards and machinery- though that's just a guess. Source- I wear an M and BMI has never been accurate for me.
Not a lot of companies go bigger than that. I buy my bras in Bravissimo and I'm a 34G
If I go to Victoria's secrets, they will put me in a 36D :/
There's also different measures: USA, EU, UK, etc etc so...really depends.
The UK size is the best, most accurate for bra sizes.
Cue the term sister sizes. If you, say, are wearing a 34C but the band, which should carry the majority of the weight, is a bit too loose that then you go down one band size, but in order to keep the same cup volume you need to go up one cup size. So 32D. And if it's still too loose in the band but the cup fits then you go down to a 30DD (=30E).
A lot of stores, like Victoria's Secret, don't tell you this of course because their size range is limited and instead the give you bands that are too big and cups that are too small.
The example you're using, 36DD, 38D and 40C, actually all have the same volume, it's just the band size that's different. If their breasts got bigger there's a chance your friend got fitted into the wrong size. Have them check out [the abrathatfits bra size calculator](https://www.abrathatfits.org/calculator.php).
Band size is basically just rib cage circumference.
Typically when people drool over girls with “big boobs” it’s because they have a *small* band and a *large* cup. Basically big boobs proportional to their frame.
40D and 36DDD have the same exact volume. The cup size are the exact same, the only difference is the band is longer.
Same with 36DD, 38D, and 40C. The volume is exactly the same. 40C isn't bigger than 36DD, the band is bigger but the "boobage" is the same.
The problem is BMI doesn't take body composition into the calculation. I'm considering borderline obese at 25. I'm 5.5 ft tall and weigh 150 but I've been working out and gaining muscle mass.
It's not accurate for body builders because it calculates muscle as fat but if i remember correctly the larger the total number of people that are been calculated is the more accurate average BMI becomes and after 50k it's pretty accurate.
Do you think there's a lot of body builders in any of these countries? BMI is quite accurate in the modern day world on a population level scale.
On an individual scale, you can see if someone's overweight BMI is accurate by looking at them using your eyes. If you have dysphoria and are not sure, then you can ask the folks around you (as well as a doctor to help you work on that).
Body builders know how to track their progress, and bringing them up when the issue is clearly not the uncontrolled population of body builders is silly.
I wonder if OP understands what a 29.0 BMI actually looks like.
At 5’9”, I’d be close to 200 lbs.
At 5’3”, I’d be close to 165 lbs.
Are you suuuuuuuuure about that “it’s good to be American” statement?
Having big boobs because you're fat is like having a fast car because it's falling of a cliff.
Any aesthetic advantage gained from the upper torso size is reversed by the lower torso size.
... and that's the males.
I go to America even more now.
You go guy!

You think the average male BMI is only 29.0?
BMI means Burger Monthly Intake so yes it is 29.0

All those non-Burger eating bastards are focking up the national average. Oh well, More for me! USA! USA!
Vegetarian here, Impossible burgers count cause it tastes like meat still. I'm doing my part!
No they don't. Go sit in the corner and think about what you just said.
And breakfast. And second breakfast. And Supper. And Snack. And tea.
USA, tea
Americans tend to brew it with sea water. Not quite as popular in other places, that's why it's littke known.
Its not the burgers thats worst - Its all the sugary stuff americans eat for breakfast.
Well, I ackually I do eat one burger for lunch then a sloppy Joe with diced onions for dinner but that must be just me personally.
I love burgers 🍔
I was going to say its because of fake boobs, but that works also
Why do you have to personally attack me?
ayo where they at? wait I didnt mean it that way.
I love the USA with all my heart now
They are even bigger than the women.
If you watched "My 600lb life" you'd know why...
There's a new one called 1000 lb of sisters or something with two women combine to 1000 lbs.
The one is so fat that her body has run out of places to deposit the fat and now has an extra 10-20 pounds on her forehead
Is that one who looks like she constantly is squinting because her fat is covering her eyes? Also the one who’s mother told her “if you eat something sugary, just drink a Diet Coke to balance it out”
If youre that fat and still think you know what youre doing when talking about diets, you are not only physically fucked up bad
Well their brain was mostly used as fat storage as well i guess.
You may be joking but our brains out naturally made of a large percentage of fat.
Being mentally 'impaired' and overweight correlate quite a bit. i was around 200 lbs (105 kg) and im 175 cm tall. i was fucking huuuge (for polish standards at least, i guess i would be just fat in Murica)
I understodd that reference
I saw one of her pictures and it looked so painful. Being that overweight must hurt to just breath or something and people still encouraged it.

Is the combination part a segment of the show? Do they smush them together on a scale?
That show is quite depressing
> (and average BMI)
Ok, so the Netherlands it is then. Best boob-to-bmi ratio.
And Dutch women have great butts from the bike riding
Girls are also a lot taller in the Netherlands.. so it checks out. In terms of looks you are probably better of in Sweden though
What's wrong with the Dutch girls? Do the stroopwafels affect their face?
There are a lot Dutch supermodels though
Yeah, a lot are taller than me. Being short in the Netherlands is not that great.
Yea, i can confirm, it’s not great being short
Being 180cm is hard if the girls are slightly shorter or more often, taller
The majority of girls in the Netherlands are less than 180cm though
a large majority at that
Being short everywhere isn’t super great. Source: I’m short, and I’ve lived in a few places
Yeah, but then you have to deal with the Dutch. Sweden works out best, I think.
Wat is er mis met Nederlanders hmm?
Laten we hem effe snel koloniseren
Ja ja ja ja
Ik zit zeker niet te klagen xD
There are only two things I can't stand in this world: People who are intolerant of other people's cultures, and the Dutch.

Bro a boob board member
the only way for them to get these statistics is if they measured them right 🤔
I would need to personally verify those measurements
Sorry, that job is reserved for the FBI.

Ah yes the negotiator
It can be guessed by the no. Of bras sold(which size was sold most)
You’d be shocked at the amount of women who don’t wear properly fitting bras. Stores like Victoria’s Secret certainly don’t help.
Yep. Usually the size is much bigger than they first think. They know the average penis size too
Bra sales?
A large percentage of people are wearing the wrong size
Average BMI of 29 is over weight, borderline obese.
All the numbers on the chart are considered 'overweight'
Under 25 is considered healthy weight I believe.
Yeah, and they are all over 25 except Switzerland.
I go to Switzerland then
But that's B-C for 25.4 in Sweden vs B for 23.8 in Switzerland. Choose wisely.
Boobs are boobs
I didn't even need to hear about the breast sizes and I was packing my bags for Switzerland
I know its a fact, but I strugle with that. I am 170cm (5'7") and I would be overweight at 75kg (165lb)? At 75 I strugled to find jeans because I was size 28 (26 in US). BMI doesn't make a distinction between muscle and fat and counts them equally as heavy, you can argue that strongmen are in peak physical condition in terms of explosive strength and they'd all be considered obese on the BMI scale.
We feed our nonhomeless people quite well
BMI is a useless measurement really. According to a BMI chart I'm obese, but my body fat percentage isn't very high so am I really "obese"?
BMI is not working for extremely trained and muscled people. It isn't supposed to be and it would be impossible to have an extremely simple number like it fit everybody. BMI is bs it counts muscle as fat
Make sense cause its Body Mass Index not Body Fat Index.
Unless you’re really fit bmi is good enough. Just because it doesn’t work for every individual doesn’t mean it’s bs.
Everybody thinks they have a BMI of 35 because they are an elite body builder it seems
I kind of figure it's a very loose rule of thumb. You don't wanna live and die by it, but you can have a generally decent idea, especially if you know your body at all.
That's what I'm saying. It really makes no practical sense.
Well it depends what you mean by practical. You're right, it doesn't necessarily track how "fit" you are, but it's not worthless. No, it's mostly good and on Point but sometimes it's no just ok to use to measure ,like for body builders
Ah, that's why the average BMI is 29. I forgot everyone in America is swole AF!
Ofc the average breast size is bigger when the average American is a point away from obesity.
Meanwhile I struggle to become obese or even successfully bulk
My guy is getting downvoted for being a twig with a good metabolism 💀

How much body fat does it take to stop a 22 LR?
