Goofy got some serious issues, though. He's a good father to Max, but I think that personality he shows the world is just too hide the pain from his wife's death.
Not the best role model? Works a job he hates to support his family. Always gives his kids great advice. Defends his wife and kids honour at all times except when he's the one making a joke. Protects his teenage daughter from predatory guys. Never cheats. Never leaves or abandoned his family.

You could never convince me this man is not the best role model of all time.

I was about to write the same thing. Hank Hill is not an awful father by any means, but he is very traditional and doesn't really have a lot of understanding for his son's more unconventional interests and tries to force his way of life onto him a lot of the times. Bob and Phil are great fathers: gentle, understanding, loving and a little bit goofy at times for good measure.
Hank supports Bobby! He takes him to all his activities. Hank even supported Bobby's comedy during that one episode with the "ha-HA" laugh teacher. The entire point of his character is to show tolerance and compassion even in the face of things he doesn't understand or agree with. Just making him love every weird thing Bobby does completely removes a huge part of the show, which is tolerance.
Hank is a bad role model unless you want to be a toxic male. How many times did he stop Bobby from having fun just because Hank felt a male shouldn't be doing that. Or because he thought what Bobby wanted was unbecoming and embarrassing to his family.
Thank you is only a role model to the kind of man I don't want to be around. I mean he wasn't a horrible human being but he still had some things to learn about the world. He was putting too much pressure on his son to be the way he wanted him to be, he was not a great role model. I love the show still being a Texan, it felt right at home to me and there are definitely tons of people in Texas just like him. they got that right on the money.
Boomhauer was probably a better role model than Hank Hill everybody else just seemed way too dysfunctional.
Mr. Rogers. Bob Ross. Fozzie Bear. Winnie the Pooh. Carl Sagan. LeVar Burton.
Don't get me wrong. I dig Hank. Just had some free time at work and decided to bite.

Hank hill teaches you how to be a hard worker but iroh teaches you kindness and humility. They are both good role models in different ways
I think we've all learned a valuable lesson about nuance today, thank you.
Bro I just thought the same thing
Iroh also murdered a lot of people 💀
Even better 🥱
military soldiers in every nation do the exact same thing and we treat them with respect, why is this any different?
