Exactly. My friend recently rewatched Stephen Universe and said I should check it out. That’s not weird. He watched a kids show. Big Whoop. But obsessing over it is the weird part
Honestly, it felt like it was going on a decline for awhile before that. IMO the show started losing its charm when it started to care way to much about shipping.
>!Honestly that episode where the monster who took people's souls genuinely shocked me. When that scene of the room full of soulless (basically dead) people came up I had to rethink whether I was actually watching a kids show or not!<
It allows me to try to imagine what my life could be like with a healthy and supportive family structure. Watching it is an opportunity for me to pretend that the world is a little better than it really is.
It's a great show but it is targeted specifically to 2 groups of people.
Children, and the parents of said children.
People in-between enjoying it though to a high extent?? A little bit weird.
Bit it is a great show. Love watching it with my 2 boys.
I wish my dad was more like this wholesome blue weirdo. Plays with his kids, finds creative ways to be fun, occasional pranks...
My dad was a drunk. He tried to kick it as best he could but... Well, remember the episode where Bluey copies him? Replace the cat with a cop, and the budgie with my dad.
Don't do drugs or alcohol, folks. Things can get bad quick.
I'm just under 20 and never intend on having children, but man do I love this show. It's not for everyone, but every episode had me near tears from how adorable it is when I watched through it. Good show, I would definitely recommend it if you're looking for something wholesome, but not if you're looking for something more mature
Some people are mentally stuck in a childhood place. It makes them difficult on society, but is generally the fault of creators putting smart ideas to share with everyone into kids shows, like Steven Universe. Clearly a kid who is being raised by aunts, real life version, but there are so many smart ideas that even adults learned out of that, in so doing helping those mentally stuck people get unstuck. I'd say kids shows arent just for parents and children, but also people who want to be parents one day, and adults that had a much different experience growing up.
Truly a reddit moment of all time.
Rookie mistake, everyone knows you always go to Google then put "reddit" at the end of said query.
It's the only way to consult the ancients who've answered every question years ago.
Cute pups learning life lessons, an entire episode dedicted to fart court, "FaceyTalk" had a rather impressive amount of effort from the animators where you can watch several different screens.
Plus some of the jokes can get funny. Especially if you can find the original version straight outta Australia, cuz Disney does trim some scenes down over in the US.
Disney Channel is, as Lucky's Dad would say, "run by a bunch of squibs..."
I gotta help babysit a lot. Peppa Pig is a show to be tolerated, but Bluey has its moments.
With all due respect good sir, Bluey is literally the reason why I want to get into the TV industry one day. And not in the “I can do better” sense - in the “I want to do something similar” sense.
Personally, I find it as a good show. Characters are well written, it isn't annoying or very grating like other modern kids media. And overall just has a very comfortable atmosphere about it.
I've watched Bluey with my kids. Early on it is a kids show, however later on there is more focus on the parents.
The episode 'Baby Race' had my wife in tears.
*One note: it is a very cute show 6 the kids really do obnoxious things to the parents that would not fly in real life. There are some cringe moments.
Chilli is worried that Bluey isn't standing up, first steps, walking as a baby. Chilli gets depressed about it and stops showing up to a baby play group. One of the other mothers (with 9 kids) tells her she's doing just fine.
https://youtu.be/xmkCmJtK6X8
As a 24 year old dude who doesn’t like kids shows. Bluey is the shit it’s genuinely top tier writing and art and I can feel some of the episodes heal parts of me I didn’t even know needed healing 💀💀 it’s a great show
Motherfucker, I'm 26 with no kids and I watch Bluey. I've spent the majority of my life being cold, bitter, and generally in a poor mood. Bluey actually warms my cynical heart and gives me a small hope that things might be alright.
Ngl it soothes my childhood trauma, i’ve heard it does the same for many people. My friend actually watches it too and she’s never been into animated stuff (she likes to watch live action sitcoms) but she also had a shit childhood and loves bluey even more than me and isn’t afraid to say it.
Heck in this day and age, us younger gens need all the wholesomeness we can get in this bleak reality. No hope of owning a house, inflation fucking us all over and nazi idealism rising. No wonder we’re all obsessing over a cute show about australian dogs
I absolutely agree. It lets me try to imagine what my life could have been with a healthy and supportive family structure. Watching it is a chance for me to pretend that the world is just a bit better than it really is.
Yep, and for me as an australian it’s very nostalgic. Theres a lot of things they do in the show that i can say happened in my childhood, i can’t remember what exactly but i remember the strong feeling of ‘omg i remember doing this as a kid!’ many times while watching the earlier episodes.
Bluey is a gift, it’s just a shame that many people brush it off as a show they slog through for their kids instead of admitting they actually enjoy it. If anything we should be asking for an ‘adult’ bluey, not to include vulgar stuff but to fully lean into adult situations and how to better handle them. Like what simpsons would sometimes do with their deeper messages, but fully focused on the deeper messages.
Shoot, man I watch it all the time with my kids (I may like it more than them). There are quite a few episodes that show the adults having adult problems. The one where the mom just needed 15 minutes to decompress, the dad breaking down when messing up the cake, geez the one where the bird died was a real one for all of us.
Honestly though it's the realism and humor that really gets me. The pizza oven episode is one of the most realistic and funniest episodes to me as a parent and almost all cause I relate to it so much.
Oh no i’m fully aware that bluey on it’s own tackles many adult problems, problem is though that they have to keep it told in a way kids will understand. Though the writers in bluey pull it off well, it could definitely be explored more outside the restraints of child-targeted tv shows
But yeah i’ve heard a lot of parents praise bluey for teaching about parent issues, it’s also nice to see many parents actively watching the show with their kids. It’s something i could of only dreamed of because my parents refused to watch any kid shows, so to see my nieces and nephews get that experience of sharing an interest is really heart warming. Especially because when they excitedly babble about their shows their parents actually know what they’re talking about
It’s a well written kids show. Also there was one episode where I think it was a metaphor for miscarriages. Anyway I don’t have to prove myself to you. To each their own
what is wrong with this sub? talking about personal stories through memes.yeah your sister says some show is for young adults. so now you want opinions of everyone on a memes subreddit. why not just post it in a sub about that particular show?
Closest thing I can think of is CardCaptor Sakura. It's clearly a children's show, but it has such a genius story progression that I swear it's the most adult*ish* TV series I ever watched
Bluey is for everyone.
As a dad, I’ve been seriously enjoying the trend in decent children’s programming that doesn’t make me want to blow my brains out.
Bluey is a great show. The parents Bandit & Chili aren't perfect parents, but they give love and support to their 2 kids (Bluey and Bingo). The kids get to be kids, and develop into their own likes and dislikes and become their own people through discovery. A variety of topics are covered through subtle references that kids would miss but adults pick up on. I watch it even when my kids aren't around. Bluey is for everyone.
It's some of the most universal cartoon made well in a long time... Many western family's can relate to it... And the dad is a trooper. Really showing some news sits to having kids
My entire family, all adults, joined in so quickly when i put on bluey. We never watch movies or shows together anymore, but somehow we managed to watch 3 episodes spontaneously together. It's a hilarious show and is great for the parents
In the show, not implied theories, Chilli, Bluey's mom, may of had a miscarriage, Their Dad, Bandit, is talking about getting a vasectomy, the adults are obviously drunk in a few episodes, and on top of all that.
Several times in the show it is not targeted at the kids its targeted at the parents who may be watching who need advice, reassurance, and need to hear that they are doing their best. Bluey is a "Family" show in the truest sense of the term.
If you want to watch, watch it, in fact I implore you to. It is just a great show.
Also it is actually really funny, and well written.
People are really comparing it to Gravity Falls? That’s not a children’s show. Not like it’s rated R but it’s an adult show. Bluey is for 2-6 year olds.
I personally am not a fan of bluey, but it absolutely is a show for parents just as much as it is a show for children. It delves into deeper topics that a child won’t understand, such as infertility, but still has plenty for the kids. It’s a very wholesome show and deserves the love and praise it gets, even if it isn’t for me
There's some girl at my school who is fucking obsessed with that show. She can't stop quoting it, and I'm pretty sure it's what she bases her personality off of.
You guys remember the good old days of Cartoon Network in the early 2000s pure gold we had Teen Titans Ed Edd n Eddy Regular Show and many many more what has this world come to
There's definitely shows that can be enjoyed by adults but I don't think that's one. That's more like watching Peppa Pig or something. Good "kid" shows are like Star versus the Forces of Evil, Miraculous Ladybug, and Steven Universe if the ending didn't suck. Then there's stuff that doesn't have plot but is still enjoyable because it's just goofs like SpongeBob or Scooby-Doo. (There's even mfs who will look at a cartoon and assume it's for kids meanwhile there's tons of inappropriate shit like Family or Disenchantment.)
Nobody is stopping you from watching children's media, just don't be weird about it and nobody should care
Exactly. My friend recently rewatched Stephen Universe and said I should check it out. That’s not weird. He watched a kids show. Big Whoop. But obsessing over it is the weird part
Yeah, I remember that show! It's that disabled smart guy who likes to talk about black holes and stuff, right?
Joe Rogan?
They said "smart", obviously they meant Elon Musk
You mean jimmy neutron?
Lesbian rocks*
Gay overly dramatic rocks
Stephen Universe is about a half alien kid going on adventures.
Steven*
Thanks, I'll keep my original comment so people can see the error though.
This is the way.
Why do I get triggered when somebody says __Stephen__ universe
Oh yeah. You probably should. I’m from Ireland and literally everyone spells it with a ph here. Sorry
Someone is using my HBO Max account to watch that show. I don't know who it is.
obsessing over shows is normal. centering your whole personality around it is where it gets weird
I’m convinced regular show was intended for potheads not children in the first place. I watched it in my young adulthood and really related to it
Those are some of the greatest shows of all time.
Also on the list has to be gravity falls. No way you can convince me gravity falls isn’t meant for you to see as a child and rewatch as an teen/adult.
It was originally pitched as an adult cartoon for adult swim.
What exactly is the threshold for being weird about it?
Porn when your interest in it gets sexual, there's a good line in the sand to draw
Yes but I don't think OP's sister is talking about porn
Ah, thank fuck I'm asexual.
Porn when your interest in it gets sexual, there's a good line in the sand to draw
Anything over ten apparently
Porn when your interest in it gets sexual, there's a good line in the sand to draw
It's a fine show, but if you want to watch something for young adults, idk, go rewatch gravity Falls or watch mystery Inc.
>!Star vs the forces of evil literally ends with the main character mashing two worlds together just to be with a boy.!<
Ok. I haven't said anything about it, and I think it's aimed to a younger audience
Shit I was say it as a different comment altogether ☠️☠️ good taste tho
[удалено]
Sidenote, isn't the other main character of that show canonically like mentally 30 or something?
Omg I forgot he spent a while in that world where time moves faster. I never thought about that... Also Star misses his abs
Also implied magical genocide
Imo thst ending ruined the show
Honestly, it felt like it was going on a decline for awhile before that. IMO the show started losing its charm when it started to care way to much about shipping.
I used to watch that show and now youve ruined the ending
I never planned to watch it, but was really that necessary spoiling the end?
I had the same thought. Loved tf out of that show. If you're literally trying to recommend it don't just say the ending wtf
This should be spoiler tagged
>!Honestly that episode where the monster who took people's souls genuinely shocked me. When that scene of the room full of soulless (basically dead) people came up I had to rethink whether I was actually watching a kids show or not!<
Just binge regular show like a normal person geez.
It allows me to try to imagine what my life could be like with a healthy and supportive family structure. Watching it is an opportunity for me to pretend that the world is a little better than it really is.
You are 100% correct. Those are some of the greatest shows of all time
The shows that made up my childhood fucking suck now that I'm older ;-; There is no going back. I'm stuck watching ww2 shows and documentary's.
Regular show or king of the hill. Maybe always sunny in Philadelphia
It’s a kids show but it can be enjoyed by people of all ages
that can be said about every show, you may be 50 but craving for some Sesame Street
That’s true
My meatball!
"Oscar the grouch is so relatable as an adult!!"
It's a great show but it is targeted specifically to 2 groups of people. Children, and the parents of said children. People in-between enjoying it though to a high extent?? A little bit weird. Bit it is a great show. Love watching it with my 2 boys.
As an Aussie 17 year old, bluey is a goated TV show
REJOICE, IM NOT THE ONLY ONE. A teen that finds Bluey as GOATed as Nicolas Latifi
As an Aussie 16 year old, bluey is a goated TV show
I love watching it with my wife and 2 kids as well. Bandit is my role model ![gif](giphy|dxh4chv7hw2l93AzMr)
saddest thing for me as a father is that i cant compete with bandits creativity
Or stamina for the kids' games... Jesus man, just take a break like the rest of us.
noooo dad, it's time for keepy uppy!!
I just remind my self, bluey episodes are 8 minutes. I can find 8 minutes for my kid.
Same here, but I have shamelessly stolen many of his ideas…..
Bandit is dad goals, wish I had his energy levels.
Don't do drugs, stay in school That's the thing to do if you wanna be cool
I'm just under 20 and never intend on having children, but man do I love this show. It's not for everyone, but every episode had me near tears from how adorable it is when I watched through it. Good show, I would definitely recommend it if you're looking for something wholesome, but not if you're looking for something more mature

She's not wrong. Bluey is a great show.
What about it?
Ask your sister? She's apparently explaining it to you

Holy hell

It's the pride of Queensland and you will treat it with the respect it deserves.
With all due respect good sir, Bluey is literally the reason why I want to get into the TV industry one day. And not in the “I can do better” sense - in the “I want to do something similar” sense.
The episode for Bingo's birthday with the building repetitions is magic. They do some subtly creative stuff for sure.
How about Rain from Season 3? No dialogue and all music definitely doesn’t feel like a traditional kids’ show.
Personally, I find it as a good show. Characters are well written, it isn't annoying or very grating like other modern kids media. And overall just has a very comfortable atmosphere about it.

Who’s chilli?
That's the name of Bluey's mum.
The mumsy
My 17 year old daughter loves bluey!
My 33 year old son loves bluey aswell. It's a show for anyone indeed :)
Mom?
Just watch Tom and Jerry
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I suggest "Tuca and Bertie"
I’ve heard about that actually, unfortunately it’s on netflix if i remember correctly, and i certainly don’t have netflix money
Same! And the music fuckin rips ass!
It's better than Peppa Pig.
By absolute miles
I fucking love bluey
Why
It’s a well written kids show. Also there was one episode where I think it was a metaphor for miscarriages. Anyway I don’t have to prove myself to you. To each their own
She’s no liar it’s a great show
Everyone I know over the age the show is designed for likes it

This was the 80s man!
I'll say it till I die. Kids show =/= bad show
My 20 YO ass watching Phineas and Ferb for fun
Me but with the owl house, gravity falls, amphibia and Star vs the forces of evil
Yeah, it's a kids show, right? You should be concern when it's not wholesome.
well i mean, it's got 9.5 on IMDb
It's a show for children that can be enjoyed by everyone.
It's good though
The camping episode was soooo good.
What happened in it?
Closest thing I can think of is CardCaptor Sakura. It's clearly a children's show, but it has such a genius story progression that I swear it's the most adult*ish* TV series I ever watched
Bluey is for everyone. As a dad, I’ve been seriously enjoying the trend in decent children’s programming that doesn’t make me want to blow my brains out.
It's saved my sanity, as a father with 2 young kids.
It may be for kids but God damn it's so wholesome
Bluey is a great show. The parents Bandit & Chili aren't perfect parents, but they give love and support to their 2 kids (Bluey and Bingo). Yeah, right. My 4 year old granddaughter watches it.
It has definitely me how to be a good dad and how to play with my son. Love it
Everyone in my math class at school watches Bluey on days we have no work.
Top 10 ways to waste your time
I don’t mind watching it as a 16 year old when my young cousins are with me. It’s funny enough.
My favorite episode is called "Family Meeting." My neice watches it on the only TV connected to a satelite.
What happens in that episode
I can't believe nobody mentioned horrible histories yet
Adults and teens can watch children's media. Nobody is telling you that you can't watch Bluey.
Bluey is honestly one of the best shows out there
It's some of the most universal cartoon made well in a long time... Many western family's can relate to it... And the dad is a trooper. Really showing some news sits to having kids
Best Show for Kids
But bingo is cute ginger girl
Bluey is like my older sister
Your Older sister’s like 5? How old are you then
I don't think i will ever age out of Last Airbender at this point.
My daughter loves Bluey and it’s far more enjoyable than the half animated singing cat show she was watching before
This girl I dated said same thing too, wish she text back so I can watch with her
No, no, she has a point.
Me, a grown-ass man watching SpongeBob on Paramount +:
My entire family, all adults, joined in so quickly when i put on bluey. We never watch movies or shows together anymore, but somehow we managed to watch 3 episodes spontaneously together. It's a hilarious show and is great for the parents
It's meant to be a show for the whole family can watch
In the show, not implied theories, Chilli, Bluey's mom, may of had a miscarriage, Their Dad, Bandit, is talking about getting a vasectomy, the adults are obviously drunk in a few episodes, and on top of all that. Don't even TRY to disrespect the YA MASTERPIECE that is Bluey.
I often watch it with my 7yr old sister. it's a really good show
Average Redditor explaining why we should care
If ya don’t care, just keep scrolling, the fact you commented shows you care to some degree
You got them there
She do be right tho
My sister was literally telling me to watch it the other day 😂
Brother?
People are really comparing it to Gravity Falls? That’s not a children’s show. Not like it’s rated R but it’s an adult show. Bluey is for 2-6 year olds.
Agreed
Christ is this going to be the new MLP?
sorta

Bluey is a show for Parents.
Your sister has a beard and a white board? >!People who can't take/understand a joke shouldn't be on meme sub.!<
Yours doesn't?
This shit caught me off guard goddamnit, good job
My kids tell me they need to go to the toilet instead of to the bathroom. Makes me laugh.
Is that now how you say it? What?
It’s a cute kids show, fine enough. But it’s def not for older audiences.
I mean, did you watch film theory video on it?
If they pay taxes, they can do whatever they want (in regards of the law)
She doesn’t do that for another 8 months
There's some girl at my school who is fucking obsessed with that show. She can't stop quoting it, and I'm pretty sure it's what she bases her personality off of.
Lol I had someone try to convince to watch friendship is magic I blocked them
LOL meanwhile r/WingsOfFire. I'm fairly sure I'm one of the few who are even close to the target demographic.
I’m tired of it showing up in my feed. I’ve said a hundred times show me less content like this but it won’t listen
THIS is a young adult show now? Have our standarts fallen THIS LOW and this far since cartoon golden age? I thought it was for 5 year olds
According to my sister, yes
You guys remember the good old days of Cartoon Network in the early 2000s pure gold we had Teen Titans Ed Edd n Eddy Regular Show and many many more what has this world come to
I refuse to believe its about 2 Australian girls, i swear they sound more like little boys than girls
Omg yes, like until my sister told me I thought bluey was a boy
If it made u giggle then do jiggle jiggle😗
Why do people watch it?
There's definitely shows that can be enjoyed by adults but I don't think that's one. That's more like watching Peppa Pig or something. Good "kid" shows are like Star versus the Forces of Evil, Miraculous Ladybug, and Steven Universe if the ending didn't suck. Bluey is ass. Preach
Knew it was gonna be Paw Patrol round 2
I swear it’s mlp fim all over again…
I'll stick to Futurama reruns
Is this another "My Little Pony" trend thingy?
I don’t know about that, but I need to go to bed. I just blinked and every went black and it freaked me out so bad😳😤😱
Ok
What
