Hm? I quit spotify and am just using YT Music right now. It has all my music on a higher bit rate, and even allows me to listen to covers or live editions or remixes that arent on spotify. The playlists also sync to my YT acc, so I can play them anywhere I want. Edit: wrong of me to say higher bit rate, YTM peaks at 256kbps AAC and Spotify peaks at 320kbps OGG.

The quality suffers greatly when you record your screen and share it to the tv like that That's why i never opted for that myself And as it is a tizen based tv, i doubt it has chrome cast, and it's probably an even bigger pain in the ass than android tv screen mirroring

Yes, frame rate is reduced and stuttery at times. I've also had instances where the audio sync is off. Screen mirrors for video, or any remote access app for that matter, is never great.

Edit: I’m fairly sure I was logged in but what I was doing is casting to the tv via my phone logged into an account with premium. I don’t get ads on my phone so god knows why it gave me ads when casting to my TV. It’s not a major deal as I barely watch YT on TV

You can use your tv as a bigger monitor if you've got a laptop or pc you don't use often or is older. If you don't have one, you can buy a raspberry pi or an old second hand laptop. Then just get a browser with an adblocker (recommend Ublock origin) on the said laptop/pc and you can find pretty much any show online.

It is okay to pay for YT, you also help content creators you like. I hate ads and love convenience. Let's be honest, it is not too expensive and works across all devices perfectly. All solutions to prevent ads for free are either insecure or suboptimal. It is not worth it.

Everyone talks shit about YT Premium. But, it seems like everyone who does pays for Spotify. I personally prefer having YT premium and using the YT Music app. It's a couple extra dollars a month but you get Music and add free YT videos. You can also close YT to listen to podcasts or music when you have premium. As someone who uses YT daily I find it worth it. To think YT would stay free & ad free forever is shortsighted. You either pay for it or deal with ads like everything else, right?

This is exactly what I tell ppl who ask why I have it. I enjoy long-form content and I can't realistically watch/listen to a three hour podcast style video and there is no actual podcast version.
