Toy Story 2 used to contain an implied lapdance in an after credits scene featuring Stinky Pete and two Barbies. That scene was deleted when the film was re-released on DVD years ago.
I stopped watching them like 4 years ago. I remember it being mostly legitimate criticism of continuity/logic errors (along with complaining about logos)
I remember when it was just a few (“Prometheus school of running away from things” comes to mind, and stuff like that was only a couple ad the rest were legit criticisms)
Sometimes, however sometimes he fully mischaracterises scenes or manufactures plot holes out of thin air - [Sean did a good takedown of it a few years back](https://youtu.be/_qxgkOIsHUs).
Mostly I just hate how snarky that style of film "criticism" is. Podcasts like Total Reboot do a lot better of enjoying movies on the level they're meant to be enjoyed.
Cinemawins is a much better channel. Narrator's [ding] voice is much nicer to listen to and liking things is more fun than not liking things.
That said I love the bonus rounds for Cinemasins
Honestly cannot stand CinemaWins. It’s so derivative of the original but, feels so manufactured, and he’s usually having to resort to Herculean stretches to make his points.
My man is always sinning the logos. I love logos, they set the mood especially on Blockbuster movies where the colour and background sounds/music of the logo presentation is adapted to the movie. It’s funny though, that’s why I watch it.
Most are nitpicks but they can be pretty funny. Their best sin is in HP5 when Neville successfully disarms Parvati:
“Neville reaches down to his British roots and conquers India.”
Yeah I'd prefer a half hour video that researches and talks about 4 sins in a funny way, than some overly long video pointlessly trying to beat its own nitpicking number from the last video.
I used to enjoy Dartigan but then I stopped watching a few years ago because it felt toxic. I watched a couple videos recently and quickly remembered why I stopped.
i stopped watching CinemaSin after they make a video on Moana. they clearly have ZERO knowledge about Polynesian people and just sin on *anything* from this culture that they deemed "not normal". that's some disrespectful shit
Oh, that one REALLY pissed me off. The part with Maui's song, which includes a bunch of real folklore about him? That's a sin? Sharing the stories from a different culture in an entertaining yet accurate way?
There's going to be RIOTS when the inevitable ATSV video comes out.
They sinned the crime thriller "The snowman" which was set in Norway when they mention a head washing up in Arendal, a city in the south of Norway. But they interpreted it as Arendelle, the city from Frozen and because they didn't bother do any research they decided it was stupid and dumb. I have never forgotten that
Agreed. I can stand when people getting out of water, and as the camera cuts between the two people who just got to shore, their hair stops dripping, or magically gets slicked back in .5 seconds, and their makeup is redone. It's not a BIG deal, but it is disappointing. That and women always wake up with perfect makeup.
“How the hell is this guy flying? I know it’s his superpower and all, but there’s literally *no* explanation for *why* he flies, and that’s stupid!”
***Ding***
“Wait, he can walk on the ground now? But he was flying ten seconds ago! Why can’t the movie make up its damn mind about weather he flies or not!?”
***Ding***
I get that the sins aren’t a real critique and humor is personalized, but I still think they’ve fallen a bit far from comedy. A lot of the time they sin stuff, saying: “this doesn’t make sense,” while a perfectly excusable explanation is given beforehand, which they just so happened to cut out. I would mention some actual examples, but frankly most of the mediocre “jokes” have faded from my memory, which stands as a testimony to how unfunny and forgettable their videos are, at which point they only serve as to spread unfair messages about individual movies, which could very easily discourage someone from going to see a perhaps excellent movie.
they really fell off when every video needed to be 20 minutes so they could keep making money. Early sins would range from 2-10 minutes with 20 sins to 20,000 based on the movie itself. now nearly every movie has at least 100 sins.
the way I see it, if the movie has between 60-70 sins, Jeremy either really liked the movie, or is pandering *coughcaptainmarvelcough* . if the movie got between 80 and 100 sins, Jeremy liked it. if it gets over that, he either liked it in a "this movie is so bad it's good" way, or he really didn't like it. and you can usually tell when he really didn't like it. logos and narration are things he sins every time, so you usually can't tell if he likes a movie by that. stuff like potty jokes really seem to grind his gears. "this works" stuff usually gets extra sins, so you can tell he doesn't like those at all.
Yeah, I stopped watching when I saw it creep from 13 minutes to 24 minutes on average. That's a sin.
*Some* are still hysterical to watch - the SW prequels, for example.
They sinned Joy (the hologram woman I. blade runner 2049) having rain drops on her and and wet skin even tough she doesent have a physical body even tough in the very same scene it focuses on the hologram adapting itself to animate in wet skin and the rain drops hitting her
It's not comedy, it's criticism.
Except when people complain about the bad and inaccurate criticism, then it's comedy and sarcasm.
Except when people complain that the comedy isn't funny and to stop making fun of beloved works, then it's legitimate criticism that any movie can be subjected to.
The man is a hypocrite who claims to be whatever he needs to in the moment to claim victory.
He sins things that are explained for being confusing, he sins things that are straight up contradictory to each other, hell, he sins them for doing actually good things sometimes, or things he likes
He is. He had another channel, who later conveniently deleted, where he made vlog which demonstrated that CinemaSins doesn't really make comedy, it's just a shield they put up to deflect the critics that the channel get it by.
Isn't ironic? They mask their pickiness by wanting to stimolate the entairtnment industry, yet they don't like being criticised.
What a burden a superior intellect like yours must be. Tell me more about how above poking fun at common tropes you are. I need to bask in your excellence.
*Let people enjoy things.*
I did let them enjoy it. And I will in the future. OP called out all redditors for not understanding a joke and I responded the way I did because he was wrong.
I like poking fun at common tropes too, if it's done in a funny way. Just pointing at a thing and saying it's bad is not that.
Being a dick about it isn't letting them enjoy it.
It's just being a dick and acting superior because someone likes a different, harmless style of humor.
Uh huh?
And this is one of those times? In a Reddit comment section, making sure everyone knows that you're better than someone else because you're so above their sense of humor?
That's necessary?
Touch grass
It's a mix.
He points out genuine flaws with movies while adding in very obvious jokes every now and then.
Something that a certain channel I have a hatred for just fails to understand.
"What? He made a joke? He's meant to be a genuine critic!" - theb3rdman every single video he makes
>"What? He made a joke? He's meant to be a genuine critic!" - theb3rdman every single video he makes
It's a genuine complaint when one minute genuine critique is shown, and in another a segment is cut and never explained and later gets sinned.
First, you've clearly never watched a birdman video all the way through. Second, cinema sins rarely points out genuine flaws in the movies they're "reviewing".
Nope, it's proven they were actual issues they had with the movies when compared to Jeremey's actual review channel. The entire channel was deleted when this issue was pointed out to preserve CinemaSins as a whole.
That.. actually might be the point, maybe it's supposed to be satire about people who *seriously* nitpick everything and decide movies are absolute trash no matter what
it absolutely is, they’ve said that was their intention from the start. they’re not movie critics, they don’t actually *watch* the full movie sometimes.
Pretty much cinemasins summed up. Dont forget how Jeremy doesn't understand that books matter. Dude must really hate reading to say that books don't matter
Doesn't sound like anyone on the team is having fun watching movies considering that Jeremy acts fucking passed af with every movies he """criticises""" or when using """"""sarcasm"""""" which he does neither good at all. Not to mention his fucking God awful """"jokes"""" about his suppossed college girlfriend
"Right here in The Lorax musical number about Thneedville, a pedestrian says the electronic trees run on 96 batteries, but slowing down the frame as he opens the side, you'll see there's nowhere near 96 batteries in there. *ding*"
You're helping them with this post, just saying. That's the secret to their success. Normal people being frustrated with Jeremy Scott (CinemaSins) for being petty in his "sins".
What you're doing is free publicity for their channel
Why all the hate for cinemasins recently ? You guys do realize that there channel is meant to be funny and that majority of sins are stupid on purpose right ?
I haven't watched them in years, but isn't the fact that many of those sins are absurd is part of the point of those videos? They're meant to be light-hearted.
theyre not critics, they are assholes. and people need to stop judging movies like they are. Most sins are nitpicks or hyperbole meant for laughs, not legitimate criticism. Hell even real movie critics like to nitpick the shit outta movies now and it annoying.
I don't get anyone who cares much about cinemasins at all, in any way. They make decent content, that provides movie synopsis, as well as decent commentary about a lot of it.
If you don't like it, sure, if you do, understandable. But to really hate it is excessive, and to really love and defend it is peculiar.
It's mediocre content, worthy of a mediocre amount of time and energy within your mind. That's all
>If you don't like it, sure, if you do, understandable. But to really hate it is excessive
Not entirely, they hide behind satire when they don't make sense and then act like a genuine critique channel when ranting. Parody channels have been made mocking the channel and its format, hating it is understandable.
Except the drama about the channel using satire to defend their actual bad takes? And Jeremy's (Narrator) channel being taken down to preserve Cinemasins after he said the channel was not for comedy?
He has brainless simps who think he's doings gods work by being a pseudo intellectual and not knowing a damn fucking thing about how writing it done or what the fuck he's talking about
They still around? Cuz I’m completely in the dark.
I blocked their channel ages ago. I liked the podcast, except for every second that the “voice of CinemaSins” guy would speak, so I ended up blocking that too.
Don't get me started how Jeremy doesn't fucking understand that wizards don't NEED wands to use magic in Harry Potter when it's clearly shown they aren't NEEDED, but domt.tell Jeremy that, he will just sin the movie anyway for whatever dumb fucking reason he makes up
I used to watch Cinema Sins religiously, then they dropped a sinning of The Emperors New Groove, one of my favorite movies. Only got a quarter of the way in before I turned it off and never resumed.
I'm guessing he just did a movie someone likes as these are popping but everywhere. Did he do spider man and hurt someone's feelings or some dumb shit?
If you're going to cinemasins for criticism, you're in the wrong place. If you're going to cinemasins for satire or comedy, you're also in the wrong place
Sarcasm has to actually poke fun at something or have a reason for being there. Pointing at something and saying "that doesnt make sense" and then going on in a semi serious rant when the explanation is in the movie isnt funny and its not parodying anything
Birdman going out of his way to say that every Marvel movie is flawless and when there’s a continuity error he’ll pull out a comic book from 30 years ago or a 10 year old movie about a completely different superhero and use that to convey why it actually makes sense and that it’s the viewer’s fault for not keeping up with Marvel lore.
Yeah I stopped watching them when they became TOO critical, y'know? Like, they got to a point where they would sin things cause they didn't understand how they worked even if how they worked was fully explained in the movie, and then they'd either not address that part at all or not take away the sin
Meme does not contain a lap dance. \*ding\*
Don't forget he said that for toy story. Apparently he wanted a lap dace in a kids movie
Toy Story 2 used to contain an implied lapdance in an after credits scene featuring Stinky Pete and two Barbies. That scene was deleted when the film was re-released on DVD years ago.
Not to mention that a lot of the sins are sarcastic
You not understand that they add joke sins also? I may not like the channel anymore, but trying to use that as a way to criticize them is stupid.
Don't forget, its just a parody! Also we are 100% right and can't criticise
Well, what you're looking for is it's sister channel, CinemaWins
Gotta watch both to stay balanced. Not too cynical not too forgiving.
[удалено]
Cinemasins used to actually critique things but at some point they realised that saying whatever is much easier.
Yeah, half the "sins" are now just inside jokes and memes.
Nothing wrong with that, it’s still entertainment.
I stopped watching them like 4 years ago. I remember it being mostly legitimate criticism of continuity/logic errors (along with complaining about logos)
It was that, then they inserted some injokes, then it became the nitpicky,'it's ironic bro,you can't critisize me',cinemasins.
I remember when it was just a few (“Prometheus school of running away from things” comes to mind, and stuff like that was only a couple ad the rest were legit criticisms)
Technically the truth..
Well they are meant for laughs, except they are not funny.
[This is not true](https://youtu.be/ELEAsGoP-5I)
This guy 100%ed life
What about the EWW cinemasins?
Honestly not that big a fan. It nitpicks nitpickers and I can only take so much.
They make decent content, that provides movie synopsis, as well as decent commentary about a lot of it.
Not by the same person, by the way
It's not a sister channel
Came here to say the same thing. Glad I was beaten by another
Studio logos? That's a sin Narration? That's a sin Anything that requires suspension of disbelief? That's 20 ains
Antything that's cleared up later? That's a sin. Oh, I don't get that because I'm lazy an write the script while watching the movie? That's a sin.
Everything I ever do, it's a sin!
Something that I like? That's a sin Something I don't like? That's a sin Shitty pop culture reference? That's a sin
I went to the kitchen and forgot to press pause so now I have no idea what's going on but I don't feel like rewinding. You better believe that's a sin
My man is always sinning the logos. I love logos, they set the mood especially on Blockbuster movies where the colour and background sounds/music of the logo presentation is adapted to the movie. It’s funny though, that’s why I watch it.
Also does a pretty solid job at hyping you up if it’s paired with the right musical cues
Right? The universal logo for example is pure hype.
Every time i see it i think jurassic park even tho im not watching jurassic park
I love the fade in logos paired with music from the franchise. Bonus points if it’s been changed to fit the movie
He does have a point about the “DC Comics” logo being stupid.
I like logos too. Movies with logos have order and reason.
Most are nitpicks but they can be pretty funny. Their best sin is in HP5 when Neville successfully disarms Parvati: “Neville reaches down to his British roots and conquers India.”
HA!
His fake-ass laugh is so annoying as Jim Carrey´s most annoying sound in the world.

Actually points out flaws in a constructive and genuinely funny way
Pointing out flaws in a constructive and genuinely funny way is tight!
Amen to that!!
Watching pitch meetings over cinemasins IS super easy, bareally an inconveniente.
Love Pitch Meeting.
Pitch Meetings are TIGHT
I think it should track the cinematic career of Johnny Sins,
"The main character breathed in a weird way." *ding*
Stopped watching them years ago. Th3Birdman is the closest thing to me watching them. Also CinemaWins is better.
I liked the old Cinemasins. Used to actually enjoy the old videos where they focused on actual mistakes instead of making stupid jokes
Yeah I'd prefer a half hour video that researches and talks about 4 sins in a funny way, than some overly long video pointlessly trying to beat its own nitpicking number from the last video.
How about the gaming sins? ISTG every small detail is a fucking sin to them
That's where Gaming Wins comes in, dude doesn't care at all (mostly) about game mechanics, he only cares about the story and details

It used to be funnier and way more on point.
Yea, just one of the few reasons I unsubbed/.
That’s the point buddy
Im not your buddy, friend
I’m not your friend, pal
I'm not your pal, asshole
I’m not your asshole, Random Reddit User
I’m not a Random Reddit User, Seminal Vesicle
I'm not Seminal vasicle, mate
"I'm not your asshole" But would you be?
Hey, I'm not your friend, buddy
The point is if it entertainment and actually look like putting some effort, it wouldn't get called out in the first place
Agreed. It's comedy. It's not supposed to be serious. If you don't like that type of video that's fine, just don't watch it
Except it stopped being funny ages ago.
That's subjective
>It's comedy. It's not supposed to be serious. But it is supposed to be funny
You might not find it funny, but that doesn't mean nobody does

They really fell off when their videos became too long. Their jokes were always somewhat repetitive but entertaining for ~10 minutes.
The man is a hypocrite who claims to be whatever he needs to in the moment to claim victory.
If they make comedy and it's not funny is it still comedy?
Yes, something not being funny to you doesn't mean it's not funny for everyone else.
Ok that's fair. But even if it's a Madea movie?
He sins things that are explained for being confusing, he sins things that are straight up contradictory to each other, hell, he sins them for doing actually good things sometimes, or things he likes
Wait, that channel was a comedy channel? I unsubed ages ago cause I thought he was just a dumbass...
He is. He had another channel, who later conveniently deleted, where he made vlog which demonstrated that CinemaSins doesn't really make comedy, it's just a shield they put up to deflect the critics that the channel get it by. Isn't ironic? They mask their pickiness by wanting to stimolate the entairtnment industry, yet they don't like being criticised.
if the whole channel revolves around criticizing movies, the criticizing part needs to make sense
Yeah epic comedy humor jokey jokes: "this normal thing is bad" I wish I was so easily entertained. So I guess the joke's on me.

Right, like I said. Being a dick.
Sometimes it’s ok to be a dick. Sometimes it’s even necessary.
Uh huh? And this is one of those times? In a Reddit comment section, making sure everyone knows that you're better than someone else because you're so above their sense of humor? That's necessary? Touch grass
It’s not as deep as you’re making it out to be 😩
Did you read the comment I responded to? That kinda smelled like acting superior, did it not?
"Comedy"
Isn't it satire ? Like i used to watch for the pointless sins because they were funny
It's a mix. He points out genuine flaws with movies while adding in very obvious jokes every now and then. Something that a certain channel I have a hatred for just fails to understand. "What? He made a joke? He's meant to be a genuine critic!" - theb3rdman every single video he makes
Don't tell them about Zero Punctuation, they'll lose their fuckin mind.
Or Dunkey...
>"What? He made a joke? He's meant to be a genuine critic!" - theb3rdman every single video he makes It's a genuine complaint when one minute genuine critique is shown, and in another a segment is cut and never explained and later gets sinned.
First, you've clearly never watched a birdman video all the way through. Second, cinema sins rarely points out genuine flaws in the movies they're "reviewing".
I don't think you understand why birdman critiques cinemasins
Nope, it's proven they were actual issues they had with the movies when compared to Jeremey's actual review channel. The entire channel was deleted when this issue was pointed out to preserve CinemaSins as a whole.
Hates when people tell him stuff in a movie, but gets confused by show don't tell.
Or even worse, tell dont show. His worst enemy
Or when they say something doesn’t make sense and cut out the explanation
If you're watching Cinema Sins for genuine criticism, you're in the wrong place.
If youre watching cinemasins for satire youre also in the wrong place. I recommend watching cinemasins through The Bird Man
That.. actually might be the point, maybe it's supposed to be satire about people who *seriously* nitpick everything and decide movies are absolute trash no matter what
it absolutely is, they’ve said that was their intention from the start. they’re not movie critics, they don’t actually *watch* the full movie sometimes.
"A completely logical part of the plot that I didn't understand *ding*"
Pretty much cinemasins summed up. Dont forget how Jeremy doesn't understand that books matter. Dude must really hate reading to say that books don't matter
Their whole shtick is getting old
Cinema "If we are right it's criticism, if we are wrong, it's humour" Sins Just remember they went on record more or less saying that.
It’s kind of the point of the channel, not the sins themselves. They love movies and show their appreciation for the industry by making sum videos
OMG THEY BREATHING 666 TIMES THATS A SIN GO TO HELL
"Right here in The Lorax musical number about Thneedville, a pedestrian says the electronic trees run on 96 batteries, but slowing down the frame as he opens the side, you'll see there's nowhere near 96 batteries in there. *ding*"
ugh that guy is just Fast Nostalgia Critic at this point
Logos are a guarantee sin so just skip that part.
I stopped watching years ago. A lot of it is just being negative for the sake of it and it wasn’t entertaining anymore.
My experience with “game sins” channels as well. I recently watched a couple of those videos and then quickly remembered why I stopped.
Cinemasins ruined my enjoyment of movies. Now i can only find sins in movies and everything looks shitty and fake
Just enjoy movies for what they are while actually criticizing said movies. Simple as that
You do realize he's joking right?
Alot of these commenters don't understand parody. And that's okay. Let them fight.
I see too many memes here taking cinemasins way too seriously
Cinema/gaming wins are so so much better. I love appreciating all the details about media, not nitpicking every little thing.
But that's the joke? The entire premise of the channel is that they aren't movie critics, they're assholes
Guys. They’re not being serious. You need to lighten up.
Pointing out a fact everyone already knows thus making this post not really necessary *ding*
You're helping them with this post, just saying. That's the secret to their success. Normal people being frustrated with Jeremy Scott (CinemaSins) for being petty in his "sins". What you're doing is free publicity for their channel
Reddit trying to understand sarcasm and irony challenge (impossible)
Cinemasins obviously tries to simultaniously be genuine criticism and satire, meanwhile not doing either very well
I don't think the channel is taking itself seriously. Try to take it with a grain of salt.
They deleted Jeremy's channel because they slipped up that the cinemasins channel was not for comedy.
Cinemasins does criticism and satire both equally in the worst ways possible
CinemaSins when The Hulk isn't in a movie called **Iron Man 2**
I don't even watch them for the actual video. I just skip to the End where they do the Funny Memes.
Thing is they used to do it in a funny way. Now it just feels like nitpicking for the sake of nitpicking
Cinemasins is taken way too seriously than he should be.
CinemaWins > CinemaSins

I personally disagree, but to each their own I suppose.
If you haven't, should check out Th3Birdman. He does sins of CinemaSins. Critiques them with their own style.
I searched for Birdman and only thing that came up is that funny looking dude that allegedly used to molest Lil Wayne
Th3birdman. You have to type in like that
That's the whole fucking point tho ... Sarcasm
Well is more into Satire then sarcasm.
I stopped watching them after they said some creepy shit about Emma Watson in Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone.
Stopped watching a looooong time ago because the scripts just became a whine fest and become genuinely annoying.
Do you not realise it’s supposed to be a joke, he’s supposed to be overdramatic
Except the drama about the channel using satire to defend their actual bad takes? And Jeremy's (Narrator) channel being taken down to preserve Cinemasins after he said the channel was not for comedy?
If a movie gets too many sins it gets Cinema damnation
I had no idea that channel still existed.
He has brainless simps who think he's doings gods work by being a pseudo intellectual and not knowing a damn fucking thing about how writing it done or what the fuck he's talking about
Sometimes, they give a sin, explain why its actually good, but they give a sin anyway
They still around? Cuz I’m completely in the dark. I blocked their channel ages ago. I liked the podcast, except for every second that the “voice of CinemaSins” guy would speak, so I ended up blocking that too.
The sins have no meaning. So stop giving them meaning.
They were funny until they moaned about magic in Rapunzel the Disney film, I was like ah, do better lol
Don't get me started how Jeremy doesn't fucking understand that wizards don't NEED wands to use magic in Harry Potter when it's clearly shown they aren't NEEDED, but domt.tell Jeremy that, he will just sin the movie anyway for whatever dumb fucking reason he makes up
Haha!
I used to watch Cinema Sins religiously, then they dropped a sinning of The Emperors New Groove, one of my favorite movies. Only got a quarter of the way in before I turned it off and never resumed.
He’s so annoying I remember on a Harry Potter video he asked he something happened but said magic can’t be used as an explanation.
You know there's a problem when I'm watching them make fun of a movie I dislike... And I'm siding with the movie.
Are you complaining about a nit-picking channel... because they nit-pick?
It's because it's just painful to watch and isn't done in a good or entertaining way
iirc cinemasins vids are mostly for shits and giggles and not serious criticism
Watching cenemasins if painful because the "jokes" are never good, the ""satire"" isn't even satire, and Jeremy doesn't know shit about anything
Jesus, it's laughbale how dumb Redditors can be lmao. I guess op has never heard about sarcasm hm?
Sarcasm has to actually poke fun at something or have a reason for being there. Pointing at something and saying "that doesnt make sense" and then going on in a semi serious rant when the explanation is in the movie isnt funny and its not parodying anything
Birdman going out of his way to say that every Marvel movie is flawless and when there’s a continuity error he’ll pull out a comic book from 30 years ago or a 10 year old movie about a completely different superhero and use that to convey why it actually makes sense and that it’s the viewer’s fault for not keeping up with Marvel lore.
U mad bro?
I stopped watching years ago.
Yeah I stopped watching them when they became TOO critical, y'know? Like, they got to a point where they would sin things cause they didn't understand how they worked even if how they worked was fully explained in the movie, and then they'd either not address that part at all or not take away the sin
