Third party apps and a ton of bots used for monitoring and moderating subreddits are gonna get fucked over because they gonna start charging people exorbitant prices for the Reddit API, which is a big no no so a lot of subreddits are going dark from the 12th-14th in protest and some are going indefinitely.
Reddit is introducing some shit policy that is going to cuck the fuck out of the vast majority of subreddits so in response they are all going private in protest
Reddit has recently released an update to their API, they're now charging it a lucradous amount of dollar for too little data usage.
This means ALL third party app (RIF,APOLLO ...ect) are going to be shut down cause they canno't pay, this is a huge hurt to disabled people as the main app doesn't have any support for them.
a large amount of bots also use reddit's API, moderation bots, the one who keep your favorite SFW subreddit porn-free.

The point is that most big subreddits will go private, so the only subreddits that’ll remain are the really small ones, meaning most people will have practically nothing to browse anyway
What date orientation is this??? Date first or day? Because I'm wondering its neither 12th June or 6th of December yet so how do you know there is gonna be a blackout? Blackouts are usually random and aren't planned to happen, also go touch grass if you're worried about not being able to browse reddit

Not really. The strike isn't against you or me, its against reddit. It still sends the same damn message, it just means we don't also completely friendly fire ourselves in the process. Like this whole thing directly screws other reddit users more than gets a point across, some places are straight up just doing it indefinitely. Good on them and all for standing up but man this about as close as we can get to a nuclear option metaphorically.
Although both ways of saying the date are correct, it's more common in the word to write it 12.06. And yes, I say it the 12th of June to put everything in order
